Long ass casual set Ieda vs tsubasa.

Lots of good shit on display here, Ckohaku is still a beast.

Chibi 5c doesn't otg relaunch, it's just that her ex guns is a binding move like cnero's BE5c and harc's BEj.2c. She can pick them up with anything.

Edit: I am completely wrong!!! lolol 5c otg relaunches

I really need a change log... Did Canada get any documentation with their upgrade to 1.07 or 1.05? Do they even release that kind of info?

-TexasTim-

There is no official documentation, that would make too much sense.

There will most likely be a changelog in arcadia magazine.

This video is a start of a series with Cvsion. It's hard to notice concrete changes besides the obvious BE236B, but that triple j.bc combo (not sure if it's new) seems to be doing more damage than she ever did in previous versions.

I imagine be236b is a good meaty after a 623c knockdown, or to be used when covered by a summon. It looks too slow for normal blockstring though.

Lets give everyone charge moves.

What a great idea :|

They didn't exactly have much old character animation to work with and they didn't want to add new inputs, might as well just add charge moves that have utility. All the ones they added seem really useful.

Noticeable nerfs:

*5cc otg relaunch gone

*Johnny shoots 4 times instead of 6 (no telling if it still costs 150 meter since ieda never did it outside of max mode)

*236a is no longer hard knockdown (they can tech when they hit the ground)

5cc relaunch obviously had to be removed, the 236a nerf doesn't really matter since she has plenty of hard knockdown options, but I don't agree with the johnny nerf. The only reason Johnny was so strong in 1.05 was her otg 5cc relaunch allowed her to gain disgusting amounts of meter so she basically got a johnny setup for free. Since she no longer has this meter gain Johnny should have stayed the same.

Buffs:

*236b is jump cancelable

*j.[c] is now a ground bounce

Theses two changes make the otg relaunch nerf not quite as bad, as she still has a corner carry combo that leads into hard knockdown, and the nature of the combo allows for more reliable damage off of air counterhit than her previous midscreen combos. Ieda does a 5c starter in the corner and gets 5k damage so that won't be an issue for her most likely.

I'm gonna guess she will be more powerful than CC vanilla ckohaku, not near as good as 1.05 but that's really just a testament to how fucking ridiculous giving 5cc relaunch properties was. No more free combos off of command grab, overhead, 2c, j.c no tech, what the fuck ever. I'm kinda mad they gave it to her in the first place cause they were obviously going to take that away.

There were no Meltyblood CC tournies at UFO the entire time they had it, and the 2 times I went there nobody played it except fubarduck, another guy who worked there, and a few button mashers. There were, however, events during the time they had MBAACC, we actually went to one (a CC tourney was scheduled, even) but that was the DAY they were setting up CC and Fubarduck had technical problems (they needed some ghetto ass usb cord that was only available in japan). That was unfortunate, but between that day and the day Fubar sold CC, there were absolutely no scheduled tournies for Current Codes to help hype up the game.

That said, I actually can't blame him, it's a bit of a gamble scheduling a tourney for a game you don't think anybody is going to show up for. Fubar didn't have much demand from people to hold a CC tourney. Perhaps we could have said more to him to give him an idea that people would actually show up to a CC event.

That's all chicken or the egg though, it's too late now and while I'm all for hating on Texas it's not really productive as of now.

Komidol, this argument you are making would be a more valid one if you didn't end your first post with "If you want to do that just commentate American matches  :nyoro: :nyoro: :nyoro: :nyoro:"

Analysis in general has plenty of judgements about player decisions. Roku is giving his opinion about what decisions are bad, and perhaps he should go into more detail about WHY they are bad and such but there is nothing wrong with what he is doing.

Roku, please commentate on what's happening in the match and not just deciding every decision that leads to someone getting hit was a shitty one when you're talking about matches between players like Ten and Okaji-yo.

For Example:

F-Akiha, the character with the highest defense rating in the game, makes a tech from Hisui's air throw while in max.  Her back tech is punished but the player was willing to accept this having the potential to spark or IH afterwards to gain back her health.  He knew she could definitely survive this hit in the worst case scenario, and had the meter, life, and defense to back it up.

Not:

He got hit again, shitty decision.  This [top Japanese player] Akiha is pretty mediocre.

If you want to do that please just commentate on American matches.

Thank you. :nyoro:
I'm not putting my weight behind everything Roku said, but if you can actually watch those matches and say that every decision that the akiha player made had a "top level" amount of thought behind it you are fucking stupid. Not every decision that leads to a hit is a bad one, but that akiha definitely was making bad decisions.

I don't know what the fuck komidol is talking about how otg relaunch doesn't benefit ckohaku.

The idea that she can get any random 2c hit, j.c no tech, 236 (charge)B no tech, whatever and confirm into a knockdown combo or tech punish setup that builds her enough meter to do a johnny setup 99% of the time. FUCK I can't think of a character that benefits MORE from it except maybe csakiha.

This buff made all her AA -> CC nerfs almost irrelevant and shoots her to top tier. You blow my mind Komidol.

38
It seems like a lot of people are assuming this is the only version of the game you will get.

Don't be so quick to whine about that until it's confirmed bro.

It's been said on IRC that this thread is to petition french bread to delay 1.07 and keep testing 1.05 before they come out with the new version. People think some of 1.05 is too broken and it needs more time to find more broken stuff.

Perhaps she did, but after she got hit by Nero's 5[c], there was the sound of a groundbounce as well as the dustcloud on the ground, so she had to have hit the ground. Whether it was a groundbounce or a knockdown I can't tell. If it was a groundbounce, it would explain why Nero's 2c afterwards launched her. But if it was just a knockdown, then it shows that 2c has OTG relaunch properties.

5[c] is a bound move, much like Harc's new j.2[c] and fmecha's ex gun and ex spikeball. Basically puts them on the floor and lets you pick them up with any move.

You can now shield sacchin's AAD in 1.05.

But I'm seeing this right you can do 3c AAD and it's inescapable again!

How the heck does Tohno's airthrow allow a followup? o.O

All in all, quite big changes. What do OTG relaunches from ReAct mean? Does any move relaunch them from an OTG state ala Blazblue? Or the OTG system in Melty Blood remains, just that launcher moves will relaunch the opponent?

It looks like launcher moves will relaunch the opponent. Hvsion's arc summon and Fvsion's tornado were both shown to relaunch a grounded opponent, as was Fsakiha's 22c.

I'm interested to see if it's really all launcher moves like Len's 4b, Kohaku's 5cc, tohno's 5bb, akiha's 5bb etc.

If I remember right:

Midscreen

Groundstring > 5c(1hit) 2c 236a 236b b techpunish

Groundstring > 5c(1hit) 2c 236a 236c (use this for meter oki setup)

Corner:

Groundstring > 2c 5c 236[ b ] 2a 5c 236[ b ] 2a 236a 236c

Aircombos are generally not advised for Kohaku unless you have no other choice, it's far more effective to setup an oki situation.
