Of course. The files are in the MBAC directory.

NetPlay Community / mbcaster doesn't run mbacPC~
« on: December 30, 2007, 12:40:13 PM »
Hi there.

This is not a problem regarding me, but a friend. Whenever he tries to use mbcaster and selects debug (9), then the game won't start. It doesn't say something like "caster and MB not in the same folder" or something similar. It says nothing and freezes until he closes caster.
Furthermore, the CPU usage rises up to more than 90% for mbacPC.exe in this situation.

I gave him hours of advices what he can do, but with no success. We checked the config_caster and everything. We even replaced them with new files. He even reinstalled Melty Blood. The other thought was that some kind of malware forces the cmd up to such a high CPU usage, but this didn't happen. I gave him my pre-configured mbcaster with the INI files but this didn't work either. I even gave him the mbacPC.exe, the cfg.cfg and the app.cfg, but this didn't work, too.

We disabled the Firewall. Even by deselecting it and everything that is not nessesary in the msconfig. We cleaned the registry from auto starts and dubious programs. This didn't help, too.

So. There he is, he can play Melty Blood regulary, but not via mbcaster. Does anyone have an idea what may cause this problem?

Thanks.

I am not friendly with channel plugins. I manually edited every single instrument in Audacity to make it sound like I wanted. This is propably the reason why it took 4 weeks for this.

Thanks for this. It's more than I excpected from the MB community^^

This music is supposed to be a trailer or teaser music. There are lots of different scenes and situations, so I was forced to make hasty transitions, though I tried to make them smooth. I will work over the transition between the piano and the brass + drums, as you mentioned. I didn't like that part either.
The drums with the brass after the first piano part were the ones I spent most time with. The timing, setting and the hall effects were quite difficult to arrange. I am very proud of this part.

You mentioned the delay between the fast playing piano and the melody in the 2nd piano part. I thought a little pause would be something to play with, but I see now, that I need to change this.

And I will try to arrange the brass so that it's not extremely loud. This was it what you didn't like about them, right? It's difficult to find the balance between the instruments, though X_x

Thanks for the critique. You really helped me out. =D

I played Kaizo Mario World and I didn't get further than the 3rd level. It's impossible for normal humans.

You know that you can do very impressive stuff by spending money into instrument samples and spending time on learning to understand music and then throwing half your life away to make a song?
No? Damn. That's what I did.

I thought to make a movie score like music. Especially for my own little game project, so after near four weeks of working in FL Studio I can show something. It's not finished though and has a fast ending. But I hope, some of you can give me constructive critique. I would appreciate it =3

That's the song. Uhm. I don't know what to say more. See ya. =D

I remember getting a game via sky grabbing and installed it. It looked cute and funny from the presentation pictures and I knew this was a kind of economy simulation or something. But also it was like Pokémon. You could "create" your monsters by putting coins (copper, silver, gold + platin ?) into an ooze like thing and swoosh - you had your monster.
Your goal was to conquer parts of the city. So you let your monsters fight against the representatives of the "enemy". You can choose out of something like rock paper scissors. If you win, you earn bucks and the enemy is gone. If you fail one fight, all your previously conquered houses in this area are gone.

The monsters itself were kind of scary moe. Little girls in school swimsuit with crab arms, a girl robot H book shelf, a Rena clone, a weasel with a grasshopper under (I haven't got a picture of this, sorry XD)... uwah.

And, of course, the non-obligatory H scenes with the china dress maid (sometimes the weird loli chief), the loli neko, the contumacious tsundere (She sais she kills the hero while he rapes her :slowpoke:) , the main elf cutie etc. It was scary.
But I loved the sister of the elf girl. You could use her as your pokémon (she kicks ass, I tell you) and she was cute, too.

The game was called Level Justice.

Is it just me or do people play Valkyrie Profile only because of the sprites and the full synchro? The KS was impressing, but too long every time. After the 10th battle the super moves get boring and you fall into a stupid click-marathon to finish the fight...

Well, that's my personal opinion, though.
I completely disagree.  The character diversity is more than enough to keep battles interesting, and I like the game for its unique approach on character acquisition and the action based battle system more than just the pretty sprites.  The battle system in this is a hell of a lot more fun than most modern action rpgs, imo.  At least in Valkyrie Profile you have to actually figure out timing with each party setup to get all of your attacks to combo together, especially with the differences in enemy weight.  Also you have to try different variations depending on whether you are shooting to farm exp boosting crystals using combos that juggle or focus on getting CT reducing orbs using OTG combos.  Every other action rpg out there is just spamming X or whatever the attack button is, and then doing some command or menu hunting to use one of your few special attacks/magic.  It's a joke to even append 'action' to the genre.
Well, it's just my opinion. I didn't say that VP is bad or something like this. I just told my feelings from when I played it.

I didn't experience this Autopilot before. I just played when I was fully awake. But then I am more than carefully in what I'm doing.  Maybe I should try playing half asleep?

So the year is nearly over and it's time for a summary. A summary of you personal Game of the Year.

Which one impressed you most? What was the most entertaining game? All those questions I want you to answer if you list a game here. =3

Of course the 1st place is
Melty Blood - Act Cadenza

Call me a fanboy, but this game rocks harder than everything I ever owned. It's the fastest, most dynamic, most tactical fighting game I know. The animations, the sprites, the graphics in general. Also I like the OST and the sound effects of this game. I was able to spend lots of nihts playing against friends and the netplay patch is the manifestation of my wettest dreams :psyduck:
My personal Game of the Year 2007.

I can't wait for Actress Again.

The 2nd place is
The Witcher

Why? Well, not only because of the genius story of Andrzej Sapkowski or the hype made around it... The Witcher is a solid, entertaining Action RPG, which can let forget you lots of bored nights (if you have time, of course).
The graphics are amazing for the NWN2 engine, the epic soundtrack (and when I say it's epic, it IS epic, goddamnit!), the main character Geralt, the fighting system and the possibility to choose from different moral choices which result in different consequences.
All this aspects grant another GOTY 2007. Though MBAC is first. :V
