I always go back to Melty Blood. Anyone else heard of this game?
That's why we are here anyway. :teach:

For me it's Terranigma, Lufia (Estpolis II, I think, the part where you play Maxim vs Sinistrals), Abe's Odyssey + Exoddus, Donald Duck in Maui Mallard, Grim Fandango and - HELL, MARBLE MADNESS!

I love those games.

Roa, is Abe's Odyssey really that good?  I've never played it before.  For that matter, I've never played Terranigma either.  =x  Also, lol Donald Duck in Maui Mallard.  I remember renting that way back in the day cuz I saw a walkthrough on it in one of the Nintendo Power magazines I got.  Fun game.  Also also, FUCK YEAH LUFIA SERIES.  "Uh...is there a Guy here?"  lol.  I need to find those games and buy them.  I borrowed them from a friend way back in the day to originally play them.
Abe's Odyssey is in my opinion one of the most innovative and original Jump'n'Run games. It has a weird but cool graphic style and the game combines action, puzzles, riddles and jump and run parts. The OST is very dark and the atmosphere in general is more depressing, but it's funny at the same time because the cool but weird Abe as the main char.
And hell, I like getting control over a Slig only to shoot other sligs or let him explode.  :V
Abe's Exoddus is just Odyssey, only better. The gameplay was improved, eg in communication with other Mudokons, the graphic was improved a bit and there are new enemies, harder levels and such stuff. Try it. It's worth watching.

As for Maui Mallard I can say that I loved this one for SNES. I would say that Maui Mallard is the Melty Blood under the J'n'R's. I mean the very genius animation, the wordless humour, the abstract way of Donald getting a ninja (!!) and damn - a NINJA DONALD! No matter how much you accomplish in life, you'll never be as awesome as this! And yes, that was a motivator quote from ninjas with guitars.

It's just like in ReAct. Click your way through.
But later in game, do NOT switch Load with Save. It's horrible. :V

1: Resume
2: Save
3: Load

Watch out! :slowpoke:

Some day in January 2008 I think. But better think of the end of January or at least the end of February.

Btw.

There's a boss I hate pretty much just now. It's a giant dragonfly. You can't deal damage to it while it has mini dinos around it. You first have to kill them with hack'n'slay, ice + fire magic or simply with the strong mass damage spell.
After they are dead you have 6 seconds to deal damage to the dragonfly. 6 secons. :psyduck:
There's no time for shooting slow fireballs or magic missiles, simply penetrate it with your gunblades shooting. With the turbo spell and maximum mana for mg-like shooting, no problem. But the energy bar of the dragonfly seems to not decrease at all (because the guns don't deal much damage).
After those painful 6 seconds, the dragonfly builds more pylons, I mean, spawns more overlords. Err, mini dinos. Then the dance starts again.

I'll shit bricks tonight! :slowpoke:

There's a problem by "Getting it". If you mean the unofficial way then there's a big stone in your way: Starforce 5.

Not all screens out of the net are good. There are really beautiful moments and stylish skill sequences all the time. I even managed to record two videos of skill animations:
http://www.npshare.de/files/36/7673/Animation1.avi (320x240; 186kb)
http://www.npshare.de/files/36/1825/Animation2.avi (800x600; 862kb)

Some shots made by myself.

I am using some of them for avatars and signatures in other message boards. Fits good =D

Hell it's been released in Russia and I was able to get a DVD at the promotion festival.
I can say one thing: HAWT!

Seriously. It's often compared to DMC. That's correct in it's own way. But Oniblade has not only the standard Hack'n'Slay, but also several magic skillz both good looking and being hell effective. The gameplay is damn fast. And when I say damn fast I mean it. The girl doesn't have a WALK animation at all XD

So you are running from Stage to stage, beating up monsters, getting souls with which you can buy skill- or weapon upgrades. There are 4 hotkey slots in which you can put magic stuff. So while you beat up guys with the mouse, use magic with the Keyboard. The skills are somewhat between standard magic arrows and mass damage stuff. Also boost spells and heal magic (costs souls :slowpoke:).

The graphic is hawt. Not best-of-the-best but very good looking, especially the totally overused HDR effects, that makes this game somewhat awesome. If you slay with the mouse, you can just mash onto the left mouse key which will result in fast hack and slay or you may hold the button every slash and the game turns into a short slow motion in which you can react faster and land more combos (because fast klicking is really hard to time). Mass battles are hell of a style. Slaying, gaining magic power from slaying, using mass destruction skillz, casting magic missiles at the darkness (Ya, I know~) and then beat the shit out of the enemies again.

Though it's not that simple. Most there is a unique monster that makes your life hard. It's like one shooting fireballs frequently or spawning more overlords / doing a barrel roll. You know what I mean. Beating this guy up first is nessecary, but don't forget the other monsters.

To say it short:
If you like DMC, half naked anime chicks, blood and eye-burning japanese-like magic effects then you should spend this few bucks into this game. It even has different endings and Cel Shading video sequences. Though it's only available in Russia (or the internets :teach: ) and not translated into English yet. But hell, it doesn't matter! :psyduck:

Kay. Back to work. *takes out his gunblades and beats up some random civilians*

Well, it's okay, as long as she doesn't like throwing planets at her opponents~ XD

I wish there was a way. Since the current version does not support it, I hope for a integration at least of Tag Battles in the upcoming one. Though it's not going to be sure and to tell the truth it's just my wish so far XD

Mine is October 1st, the same day when Edison opened his first electric lamp factory in 1880.
And when a bombing killed 23 people in Bali 2005.

I can't forget how she hit my Hisui in Act Cadenza once with a Blood Heat Arc Drive. Hisui's death scream was touching my heart.

So I had to beat the shit out of the guy who did this to her. Poor Hisui ;_;

Indeed. Her Executioner outfit is the most awesome thing in this game, but Ciel is simply broken.

Agreed.

I got through. I wasn't on Ciel from the very beginning but every damn choose I made let me straightly run into her and I just wanted to get to Arc first, so maybe I lost many many sympathy points from Ciel and she didn't help me out of the tea ceremony club. X_x

Well, it's fine now. Thanks.

Some parts of Tsukihime are remembering me of those silly interactive adventure books where you go to different pages after choosing from several options. Most of them only got you to a "That's it, you were beaten by a burning whale while trying to steal the diadem of doom. - FIN".
And the particuliar thing about this is, that after this happens you get "the lesson". It's made to be useful but I think it misses the spot after guiding me into another dead end.

Actually, this topic is a search for help only covered into a pseudo discussing platform. I apologize.

If you didn't play Tsukihime, don't read further.

I am talking about the things that happen after the chair eyesore thing. You know what I mean. I am going to meet Ciel and got three decisions:

1. wait at the front gate of the school
2. go into the class
3. go behind the gym

I take 1. Okay. At the gate, Ciel doesn't appear > go into class. Talking with Inui. Then another choice comes up when the break starts.

1. keep in the class
2. go eat some lunch in the cafeteria

I am waiting in the class. After the class is over, Shiki gets thoughts I can not follow about how he wants to meet Ciel and such stuff. He goes into the Kaiba cave, I mean, the tea ceremony club and then Roa appears and kills you. Dead end.

"Hum." *loads*

1. wait at the front gate of the school
2. go into the class
3. go behind the gym

I choose 3 and go behind the gym. Ciel doesn't appear > class.

1. keep in the class
2. go eat some lunch in the cafeteria

Taking 2. I meet Ciel. Blah talking. Then another choice.

1. Leave her after the talk
2. Go after her and talk about Arcueid 'n stuff

Choosing 2. Go after her, talking, then she invites me to the tea ceremony club after school. Appearing there, I get killed by Roa. No Ciel. This bitch didn't appear to rescue me after I rescued her from Arc. *loads*

1. wait at the front gate of the school
2. go into the class
3. go behind the gym

Taking the class, 2. Blah, Inui talk.

1. keep in the class
2. go eat some lunch in the cafeteria

Choosing 2.

1. Leave her after the talk
2. Go after her and talk about Arcueid 'n stuff

I am leaving her alone. Then I go back to class and after it's over, he STILL goes into the damn tea ceremony room and STILL I die.

----

So I am asking. WHAT is going wrong. The lesson tells me to not abadon Ciel and clear things out between me and her. So I did and I still died. It's a nightmare. I can't even bear Ciel's lesson anymore. Help XD

The 236B charge
Downside: That takes about 20 years to start up.
Huh? If the opponent is dashing towards you while you charge, simply release it before and she is pulled in the edge again.
Doesn't work if it's Nanaya, Warakia or Warc though.

Learn to play Aoko, then you have plenty of ways to get her out of her blocking. The 236B charge, the 4214A/B/C orb, her 6236A... :blah:
