Update: I'm getting more used to the gameplay, but I still have problems properly applying dem fighting game fundamentals to it. Also, I'm liking Full Moon more and more, especially F-Aoko, F-Akiha, and F-Mech Hisui. But I'll still play Ryougi in Half-Moon. Also, what's the best way to learn Sacchin? The changes made to her throws make me worse at playing as her.

Try to learn her bnb and then quit because she sucks.

Airthrow is THE ONLY way to punish autospark.

edit:
autospark would have to be executed in the air of course. otherwise, there is no punish.
Shield into ground throw?

no, it has to be airthrow. Can't be thrown on the ground for auto spark.
What's up with Denpa doing 5AD into EX Bite with CSatsuki against a Half player and hitting with it then? Did the other guy just not jump?

EDIT: Yeah you're right. I just tested it. Must have been a console/ver A change. Either that or he did it after the spark ended and just got it as a sort of tick throw. It's not jumpable on flash so if they're not holding up coming out of the spark then it'll hit.

I thought Extractor could pull the files (google for it I guess). That's what I used to unpack the music files.

Now listening to BENNIE BECCA.

Surprisingly not bad, but Becca is definitely a worse singer than Yuki. It still sounds like BENNIE K though, because Cico is still rapping.

Meh doing it at work with my portable HDD. Only got 8.1k songs on here, but it'll work for now. :teach:

Takahide Ayuzawa - Spinning the Tale (From Sekaijuu no Meikyuu, Etrian Odyssey, rearrange album)
Nobuo Uematsu - Makou Reactor (FF7)
THE BACK HORN - 墓石フィーバー
黒夢 - 夢
Sailormoon Another Story arrange album - Battle music
光田康典 - 時の回廊 (Best track in Chrono Trigger)
King Missile - Rock 'N Roll Will Never Die
Frank Klepacki - Dusk Hour (Tiberian Sun)
鬼束ちひろ - 月光
La'Cryma Christi - Nangoku (I don't even like LCC what the hell D: )

There's my ten.

EDIT: What is it, JRock bands I don't like day? Next song was L'Arc~en~Ciel. D:

I see Gekkou.

And I have a few old X-Japan songs. None of the rock, though, just like Endless Rain and Say Anything. Don't listen to it any more, though. The only X-Japan song I have is the orchestral version of KISS's Black Diamond, and that wasn't played by X-Japan.

I've been just listening to random artists I haven't listened to in a while now. Went through YUKI's last album for a few weeks, which is pretty brilliant IMO (it reminds me of the weird musical progression that JUDY AND MARY used when they were still a band), and then like the Regina Spektor album Far, and now I'm listening to my old BENNIE K music. I'm sort of waiting for their next album with Becca, but I'm not expecting much so I don't know; they seem to have fallen off since 2007 or so.

YUKI's last album うれしくって抱きあうよ is brilliant btw. It really reminds me of old YUKI/JAM music.

then both our music tastes must be bad. Maybe. Though if I like this much, I'll probably like your other stuff. :V Either way, wasn't excepting to see HALCALI lol.

Uh, sadly I can't really name very many bands in specific. or Artists.

but ill say Renard V and hope I don't get trolled or anything like that
Everyone should recognize Chihiro Onitsuka (鬼束ちひろ) anyways. Whether you like it or not, she's like the best singer I've heard in terms of actual vocal ability besides like Luis Pavarotti.

Hirose Kohmi might be iffy, but she's really a good overall classic singer. Just avoid Promise, not because it's a bad song, but it will severely skew your impression of her singing because of its meme status, and the fact that it doesn't represent most of her music. If you just look at what Chihiro/Kohmi have covered, it might give an idea of why I like them: music that's significant but fairly underliked today and not pop music that doesn't last very long. Chihiro's covered Patti Smith's Because of the Night, Jewel's Foolish Games, Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit, and Aerosmith's Dream On, while Hirose Kohmi has done Ootsu Yoshiko's ここに幸あり, Hammond Albert's It Never Rains in Southern California, Basia's Cruising for Bruising, Southern All Stars' いとしのエリー, and Stefanie Sun's 天空.

Also if you started listening to HALCALI after their Naruto song then I will be upset. They've barely even made any music since then, and their last single's sales aren't even ranked on Oricon at all.

The only thing I listen to from her is "Promise" because that meme is still awesome.

I personally think that's one of her worse songs, and it's not really like anything else she does.

My shitty music taste:

Chihiro Onitsuka
Hirose Kohmi
Regina Spektor

And then some HALCALI, BENNIE K, Tenmon piano music, YUKI, m-flo, Hitomi Yaida, Bonnie Pink.

If these are all the changes, then I'm glad Sacchin isn't on there, because nerfing C Sacchin in console made no sense.

hm, ill have to give c-akiha a more detailed look then.  side note: im liking f-miyako, she has more of the conventional tools im used to having (some kind of distance-closing special, a decent anti air dp, stuff like that), kinda plays like a tiny lil jam complete with having complementary specials that work well together (like 22b and then 236b followup, or 236b canceled into 623bb).  her range on her normals isnt great but man if you get inside the other guy eats damage like crazy

hell even if youre not a combo monster (and im not heh) you can just mash 2a a few times then 5b 2b 5c 6c 623bb or ex it if you have meter for a good chunk of dmg

oh and not to mention the 22c mindgame.  i love stuff like that, since throws dont really do any damage if i could find a good followup off it id be in business
F Miyako 5B and 2B are actually really good normals in terms of range and priority. Her j.B beats everything air to air also, and has a ton of active frames, and j.C has a really big hitbox.

Her bnb works for most of the screen for over 5k all the time and you get at least 4k even coming out of the corner where you can't do her real bnb. Also you can always do 5B 5C 6C into bnb off of throw. It does a little more than 3k.

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: best character for a beginner?

Full Nanaya is the easiest character to pick-up-and-play in this game bar none.

Yesterday I got three SF4 players who had never seen melty blood before and only heard of it in he SRK vote to play some melty. After about a minute of coaching they were doing rekkas into dive kick mixups, fastfall tricks and blockstrings.
That's because Full Nanaya is the most like a Street Fighter character out of everyone in the game. Yang rekka, Dive kicks into Akuma mixups, and a Shoryuken.

I updated the two moves you told me to. I really dislike the way a lot of this was written, though, and have no motivation to actually fix it.

Fact is, there's only so many useful moves for this character, and air EX bite/charged 214B aren't among them, despite them being in a combo video. Really Satsuki's normals all have very general purposes, while her specials are pretty much all bad except for the antiair grabs and reversal supers.

Lamba is Nu with pretty much everything nerfed totally to the ground and she still manages to be mid tier.

It's pretty good proof that when a character has certain elements they will always be at least decent.

Akiha's Tea Room / Re: BlazBlue: Continuum Shift

The new character is MU-12 and yea its basically noel with armor. I have a feeling she gonna be cheaper the V-13

Nu was not cheap. Really the only OP things about her were 2C and her damage off of CHes with the move. Other than that she was just extremely solid and could compete with Rachel and Arakune who imo were a lot more frustrating. A lot.
Nu was the most braindead character in the game.

It's like 3s. Nu is Chun and Arakune/Rachel are Yun. Chun might not be better than Yun but she is much dumber.

If you drop A sludge/snake/antlion (214A for all moons should work) then block, it usually eats people that rush in from far away for free.

Nero is bad against anyone with full screen projectiles. See: Generic raging at H Mech and H Sion, and Nero having bad matchups against any moon Mech.

Kohaku's Magical Garage / Re: EX Guarding
« on: February 08, 2010, 12:55:34 PM »
Confirming there's some difference.

Me and a friend both tested C Satsuki mirror 623[A] mash 5A. 623[A] should be between +0 and +2 on block, depending on which frame it was blocked on.

Whenever it was normally blocked, mashing 5A out of blockstun either traded or lost. Whenever it was EX Guarded, 5A won or traded coming out of blockstun. I think it's 2f from the fact that 5A could still trade when both players were mashing and it was EX Guarded. At least that's what I got by actual mashing. My friend said while mashing with autofire, it was making a difference.

Shiki Tohno / Re: H moon tohno
« on: February 04, 2010, 08:55:25 PM »
Wow just started playing MBAA again haha. Anyway, had an observation on Tohno. As far as his playstyle is concerned, he should try to limit his attacking to the ground as much as he can. Old Tohno had a good air-to-air normal in jA, which now at least for Half-moon, angles a bit downward.  I don't know about you guys, but I get beat out A LOT in the air especially against the likes of Akiha and Sion.

Anyway, this is just based on my own playing, so feel free to correct me if you have observed otherwise.
CrimsonDisaster's been playing Half Tohno. I feel like his j.C works really well air to air actually, at least a lot better than most of the other j.Cs that are meant as strong air to ground attacks. Also, having his current airdash gives him some really strong IAD pressure.

But yeah, when they're in the corner, he's really ridiculous on the ground. Having moves that you can just leave uncancelled and are neutral on block lets him keep up blockstrings with really few ways to get out, and he has some of the strongest tick throws in the game.

Also Tohno j.C somehow ate Sacchin's 421C and CH me. Sad moments.

Kohaku's Magical Garage / Re: 214D uppercut?
« on: February 04, 2010, 08:15:18 AM »
Shield bunkers aren't launchers. You're thinking of shield counters. And shield counter is 236D after a shield in Full Moon.

Shield bunker is the game's equivalent of Dead Angle Attack or Alpha Counter. Just for some reason they let you do the attack while not in blockstun as a real attack (albeit very terrible).

sibladeko, mind if i copy the guide down and sticky it on my own MBAA forums for new players that wanna try MBAA ? Of course quoting you as the creator of the guide  :)
Lol, sibladeko and S-Blade are different people.

It's not really a bug. And it's not Sacchin related really. A lot of Arc Drives have last hits that are scaled to deal with the proration system that the game uses, since the last hit should do a few hundred damage. So they calculate how much they want it to do and mess around with it to deal with proration.

It's just really hard to actually get people to not be get caught in it. Sometimes you could do it by stretching it in MBAC 2v2 by airthrowing people out of arc drives. There's a lot of situations with Kohaku EX Bomb knocking her out of stuff that can't really happen. In vanilla MB version 1 there was the worst glitch ever: sometimes Warachia's Arc Drive was flat out techable and the last hit was invalid, but if you airteched it you'd take 11k instantly from the last hit. You can do it pretty legitly by EX shielding every hit of Wara's AD/AAD except the last one, and then taking the launching hit and the finisher for tons of damage too.

And I think there was a way for Len's AAD to go off without actually being caught in it. You couldn't do anything during it though since she's not on screen and it still goes black.

Satsuki Yumizuka (Yumiduka) / Re: Sacchin Actress Again

The difference between first and second hit 2C is that first hit doesn't sweep while second hit sweeps. It's not anything about different frames of recoil. After a sweep, the first 2 hits of 5A 6AA will send the opponent higher. If they don't get swept, the first 2 hits won't.
