Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: why is there so much hate for Nero?

Hated him back in MBAC for his annoying stuff, but now, my characters have lots of ways to counter against him. So the hate has lessen =p

With C V-akiha jC changes to allow easier crossup, I sincerely pray that it will be easier for her to get her damage in now. With the current MBAA ver A jC, the hitbox is smaller than her H counterpart which is much more easier to crossup opponents with.

Other than that, I prefer C for all the weird stuff she can do. Flame pits and flame tongues in the air helps her oki games alot.

Ahhh i see, thanks for the clarification there  :)
Overall I guess the Current Code changes seems to be heading in a good direction. HM shield counters now seem to be slower as compared to MBAA ver A.

At around 1.42 in this video, you see Ryougi getting hit by Seifuku Akiha ring move in the air, Ryougi air techs and immediately performs a counter move of sorts and hits Akiha back. It happens somewhere in 3.36 too.I have never seen that move before or more like I didn't explore fully C Ryougi haha. . . someone care to explain ?

Melty Blood Auditorium / Re: An idea that could help pull Japanese players
« on: February 09, 2010, 10:30:56 PM »
Well having some Japanese players might or not help the EVO scene. Don't think it will have a very big impact from a foreigner point of view (my 2cents view). Of course they might showcase alot of high level play but I think you guys have people who can showcase that too, not on the same level but close.

On top of that, not everyone knows what the hell is MBAA much less the players from Japan. Keeping the hype alive at EVO will still be the most important thing I guess. There is a EVO APEC which is EVO Asia Pacific held in Sydney, Australia for people around the region to participate. Currently the game which they are hosting is SSF4, the champion of the tourney will be sponsored to fly over to Vegas free and seeded thru the prelim rounds. So maybe pray hard they might include MBAA too, but my hopes ain't too high for it to happen, pray for the best only.

If H-Mech is broken and pointless and you wanna boycott her, then please boycott Chaos first, which you could just eat scrubs with HAWWWWW jC moves every day.  :prinny:

I still find Nanaya easier for a new player to pick up, considering he has very good normals and with the usual dp and stuff.

Usually against Ries, I don't find her that threatening. Len has good air to ground options and can keep ries from moving for quite a while. Depending on the modes you chose, she has good options to go up close and irritate the hell out of people.

Akiha Vermillion / Re: H-V Akiha Strategy/Tactics Thread
« on: February 02, 2010, 07:29:40 PM »
Ya, i realise after AT even rushing opponent in the corner is a 50/50 thing for me, need to watch for those pesky dp or EX reversals. I am too fixed back on the old mindset of C mode instead of the H mode auto activate flame pit move  :slowpoke:

Is there really any way to utilise her j236A move to help trap people in the corner more ? Like maybe IAD jC, j236A etc. Doesn't seem to be a much feasible move.

These days I don't usually finish off with 4C, 2C, 623B on the third loop. Somehow I am not able to utilise her oki options on H mode well. I will just do a 4C, 2C, 5BB then jump jB, jC, jA, jC, airthrow. On wake up is either I do a 2A, or just IAD jC, IAD jC. And I am not using flame pits much these days too, due to getting punish in the air by characters who have long jump attacks like Chaos  ;D

Make a god damn spare key next time sevalle !  :emo:

You can unseal your joystick and I can head down to your place and retrieve it. Tell your parents where it is loh, then I go get it from them when they are at home ?  >:D

Anyways, the reset combo seems to work better on a smaller hitbox character, I need to test it out on the biggest hitbox characters first. I tried it on Nanaya and Shiki and the results are satisfactory to me. Will post more when I get home to test it again tonight.

Half the time i am too lazy haha. Anyways, I found a pretty cool reset combo for CM V-Akiha haha. I show it to you when you are back in Singapore. Can I go loot your joystick for a year till you are back ? I promised to take good care of it  :)

+1 vote for MB. Managed to dig up my old SRK account and my very first post on SRK  :slowpoke:

Ahh great to see more players around the asian region haha. Is hard to find players these days, we have some from malaysia but 2 of them flown over to the UK to study, have 1 Indonesian friend over here in Singapore who plays MBAA.

Our region somehow is limited to Philipines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand. Mostly these 5 countries, since places like Hongkong, China has their own community which is quite large and doubt they would join with us haha. And I can't really find their community either  :mystery:

Everyone has their own views and stuff and I cant' say that the other person is wrong. On my own level of views, due to the lack of players around in my own community, we don't get to see MBAA being hyped up to a huge level as compared to SF4 scene here. Sure we host tourneys and stuff but the level of enthusiasm in the players are not as high as the guys in meltybread.

Even though Japan is much nearer to me as compared to the US, I think it is enthusiasm of the players which makes me really want to drop by. My limited knowledge in the Japanese language doesn't allow me to grasp fully of the stuff going there haha

The experience definitely outweighs the monetary cost with the opportunity to meet up with other players from other countries.  :)

Hmmm well the cost of flying over to Vegas from here is about 1.5 grand. The cost of flying over isn't that bad, rather is lodgings and how to go around the place troubles me, I will be like a fish out of water, grasping for breath haha.

Lemme check my work schedule first, to see if I am free to fly over to meet the international crowd  :)

Not really a top tier player in the international sense but well around my community i am one of the better ones haha. Wouldn't want to showcase my lousy skills on the international level  :prinny:
