Whoa whoa whoa. We have meetups in LA NOW?!

I never went out to FFA because it was too far. Little Tokyo is so much closer. I didn't know there was an arcade there.

I'll have to try and make it next time. Hope it isn't this Friday, though...cause I'm going out for my Dad's bday.

Happens every Friday basically so come over any Friday.
We've got some regulars. Numakie, KFL, Lain (for as long as he's here right?), Myself (When I've got change), Amanita, ID_ASZ(he works here), and theres some people that just pop up ocassionally.
Some dude called "The Piano Man" showed up last week, it'd be nice if he becomes a regular.

I'ma bringing my recording equipment to record this Friday. If ID can set up up the Melty cab for me to capture, then we in this.

Ideally, I'd like to run a Round Robin and record that as well. That way we can all play each other & see how great we are.

Also, for parking, I dunno if you guys know about the sketchy Megatoys parking lot up the street. It's usually unstaffed in the evening = free parking.

There's also free parking at the Woori Market parking lot till 9:00pm. Technically it's 2 hour free parking with market receipt but they don't really check. Just make sure you have your car out of there by 9 cause they close the lot up around 10.

The mall parking's free too as long as Japan Arcade doesn't run out of those free one hour parking stickers. Just let them know that you've been here for a while and that you may need some extra stickers.

Japan Arcade can also Validate your parking for 2 hours inside the parking structure. You have the option to validate, Drive out of structure before 2 hours, drive in structure, repeat.

Also, after 8p, you can Park on the street without needing to put money in the meter (meter says "enforced 8a to 8p") Finding street parking may be a bit tricky though.

I'd also like to mention that ima plan to be there friday round 8p or so.

What is the button layout on the cabinet? It could be hard for me to adjust to different binds on the spot.

Primarily the melty cab, and no, there is no pc to play it on.
Also, I plan to run this on the cab only. Less set up to worry bout.

Alrighty. All my equipment is packed and stuff. I'll most likely be there round 8P after work.

If all goes well, we can do a 2/3 Round Robin (or 1 game if there is alot of ppl.... that'd be awsome btw) at 9p with the Melty cab on Event Mode. Ideally i don't want to charge extra beyond the paying the machine, but we'll see.

I'll see you guys there. Bring your friends for Melty as well.

Don't worry. I haven't played since MBAACC released. And I still unconciously try and do MBAC combos. There are going to be lots of dropped combos and eaten mixups on my part.

So yesterday I was wandering around Little Tokyo, and I decided to check out the Japan Arcade, and stumbled upon what I think was this Toasty Casual!

A while ago me and some friends I downloaded a game called Melty Blood: Act Cadenza, and it was probably the most fun I had playing a fighting game, a genre I had never really been that interested in. Recently my interest was re-sparked, and for the past few days I've been trying to find an arcade with a Melty cabinet in it. I never thought it was in the little arcade naught but a 10 minute drive from my house! (The locations page listed some out-of-business arcades and that dinky Coinz center at UCLA listed as "University of California"). I was even more blown away to find a gathering specifically around it. What are the odds? That is some weird spooky voo-doo.

I had some questions though:

1) I'm someone with no real "backround" in fighters, are there other people here who are new to the game, and would it make any sense to participate in the actual casuals?

2) The way I see some people talking about the arcade, it makes me think that there is not always a MB cab there? 2b) If so, if anyone wants to beat on me sometime during the week and give me some pointers I'll sup you the quarters.

Stoked there's a scene near me, hope to be posting more!

I'm pretty ~~new~~ shit at this game, and there are a few other fairly new players as well.
As far as I know, the cab is there every day.
Unfortunately I don't live close enough to Downtown to come over during weekdays, but if you don't mind playing online, add me on steam http://steamcommunity.com/id/del3030 and we'll practice.
We're both in the LA area so the delay shouldn't be too bad.

1) I am actually running these on fridays so players can come down and improve together. If you are interested, come down. I'll post here to keep updated.

2) The MB cab was originally at FFA before the arcade closed down. The machine then got relocated to Japan Arcade. The game is there to stay as far as i know.
