I'm not doing the super late email thing as much anymore so my monitor is available for use as well. Unless the dust loop guys come (which is fine, they just usually don't show up on Thurs) 2 setups should be fine really.

Well I think the dustloop thread might be a good indicator of how many we're expecting to show up. Besides, how dope would it be if we had FOUR setups for this on launch day? I still get that sinking feeling that 2 might not be enough, so I might bring my monitor just in case.

If everyone who posted about coming by on Dustloop comes by, we will definitely need more setups. I'll likely bring my monitor as well.

Yeah, I mean it does sound like we're going to have a sizable crowd if everyone does show up even if half of them are "maybes". But if there's one setup that doesn't get used, oh well. Free training mode for whoever wants it. But yes, FOUR setups. 8-)

Also, great, another cheapass who uses webs. :-\ I wonder if I can discharge them with a simple 5A.

What time should we stop by today? I was thinking it might make sense to stop by a little earlier to get the download started, say 5:30 or 6:00.

EDIT: Also, just in case you missed it, Ted asked for your address on Dustloop. I guess he and Darrell are considering stopping by.

Since H-F asked, the notation for that Vatista combo is:

2A 2C 5C[8] delayed [j.B] (pause) j.2[A] 2C 2]A[ 3A 6C 3]B[ 4A[2] 8B

3A 6C 3]B[ to preserve a [6] charge for the laser after releasing the second crystal.  2A 6C 3]B[ also works, but I had some consistency issues if I was slow to move to 6 after the 2A from going back to neutral or something.  You're never charging more than two things at once, which I guess is nice  :V

lol that combo looks like a mess. And I thought Saki was weird with her charge motions. But the time between each charge move was pretty large and didn't involve multiple directions so they were never overly difficult.

GGs in UNIEL last night again. I was hoping to get more of the Eltnum vs Vatista match to see which of the 2 characters I'm using I can perform more consistently with but unfortunately it got cut short due to hardware failures.  :( For that match specifically Eltnum's 2C and 236C seem to be good whiff punishers, but the match still has to be played pretty slow.

Also, dippy/Tempered, if you guys are ok with hosting again, let me know. As you can see I'm still fiending for matches.  :-X This is one of those rare times that I actually have a Saturday off and I'd like to make the most of it. I suppose let the DL guys know if anything is going down as well and if any additional setups would be needed if anything goes down.

"Specialty: Counter Nullifying
Vatista nullifies the properties opponent would gain from a counter hit. Meaning the opponent's combos will be shorter since they don't get long hitstun, and that the opponent can't pick Vatista up from a downed state."

That sounds fair :V

Still need to find an answer to the question of "who do I want to play when I don't want to work so damn hard?"

Yes, Vatista has Flower arcana passives. But she can still be GRD broken.

Who to play when you don't want to work so hard? Gordeau. Besides, I don't think anyone in AZ is officially playing him.....yet. :-X Any matchup experience also helps.

The defector has returned? :psyduck: I'm good for Thursday as well. Your copy of UNIEL is arriving this week? I'll likely bring a setup as well if needed. 4 setups on launch day was great.

I know I said I was considering a scumbaggy character, but... :slowpoke:  I'll leave that level of faggotry to the people who can live with it when they sleep at night.  I've actually been considering Byakuya.  The more I play around with him, the more I like him.  Especially after seeing the oki setup someone created for him:

What do you do when you wake up into that?  :psyduck:

Probably not going to bother with Carmine.  He has a lot going for him that I like, but I just find him aesthetically unappealing.  If he had an anime pompadour, it'd be a different story.

Thursday works for me.

I've been playing Gordeau a bit. He is pretty scumbag, on top of being brain-dead. Coincidentally, Byakuya is probably my most annoying matchup when I play Gordeau. I have a feeling that Byakuya could end up being pretty strong, and possibly pretty scumbag as well. ;)

Either that or I just don't know how to fight against him.

Oh, he has some dirty shit.  The dash that sets a ground web is a command throw at certain distances.  His web->hop strings looks like it might be a legit crossup since the net doesn't connect until after he hops over and lands.

I find it a little funny that we recommended Byakuya but originally you passed him off as being kinda meh. A new character will take some time to explore.

Also, the 22v22(?) that went down a few nights ago was kinda funny. This Vatista player double perfected this Merkava player with only 2 moves because his C button was busted. lol I was a little surprised when some people recognized me in the stream chat under a different name somehow. :-X

Tempered or Dippy, are either of you going to post on Dustloop that you're hosting tomorrow? I figure a lot of Dustloop people would appreciate the chance to play, assuming you're down to accommodate more people.

If there's going to be as many people as last time, we WILL need all those setups again. I should be able to bring one if needed. Dunno if dippy's copy has arrived yet.

I was going to mention it on Dustloop earlier... but I got lazy. That was kind of the intent of finding out earlier in the week, to be honest.

As for setups, my copy did come in and through black magic oOoOoOoOoOo I have a third copy, as well. So we have three setups, which should be good unless 12 people decide to show up again.

GGs from yesterday. Once again, it kinda felt like we were pressed for time, or maybe I was so I didn't get to play against Ted's Nanase or Carlos's Byakuya or Carmine. I'm trying to get as much matchup exposure as possible but I suppose there's always next time.

Luke did you say you were packing for Tucson today and actually heading out there tomorrow? Was going to see if you had time to try netplaying later today so we can see how good the connection is. But I believe you said you'd be busy packing or something.
