Well if you guys can somehow rally up together for the Bama tournament, this'll be great cause there's still people that play there but Viet don't worry about the car issues, as long as you're doing your part, things will work itself out.

Ooookay, haven't posted here in a while. So, I'm in Cali for a bit until the semester starts back up again (aug 22). I don't want my already rusty MB skills to get even rustier, so Viet, dogy, whoever...would you guys be up for some weekly/bi-monthly casuals? At Gatech? Or anywhere, really, as long as I can get a ride...

Not sure about that Impact tourney. I'm slowly saving up for EVO....

Good to hear from you dumba. You're coming back to GA?

That's a shame. I'm kinda hoping to catch onto one of these meetings and actually learn how to play the game beyond theorycrafting and Training Mode drills. I know about everyone on this thread is probably on a level higher than me, even if it's by knowledge alone, so I'm really hoping you guys will show up at Impact Clash or the like and at least get casuals or a Round Robin going on.

I did say I had a friend that was suppose to be learning this game with me, but he ditched me. He said the game was too hard and just went back to console FPS (:slowpoke:). Although I find it strange to quit considering he has two arcade sticks just lying around now (wasted investments if he doesn't keep playing fighters). I think he just doesn't have the mentality for it. I don't think I do either, but I'd like to think some actual stimulus would get me that drive.

Or on the other hand, maybe I shouldn't have used H-Neco Arc Chaos and 22A'd him an entire match. :V

Yeah doing stuff like that doesn't really help encourage people to playing this game especially in the USA where people are hardly motivated to even consider playing the game. But yeah it's difficult to have the drive when you don't play people or you won't know the next time you'll be able to but when you finally do play & you find players better & more experienced than you or at an equal skill level, you'll want more & more like I did when I first played Solidplay back in January, my first real opponent since learning the game basics at LK's house last year. If I do make it I'll definitely play with you man I know how it is so I won't leave you in the dust but Dogy knows some things & I'm sure he'll be showing up so just ask him & he'll play with you. But with your friend & you, you two just need to go to a tournament like NEC or a Melty exclusive tourney to get motivation. Actually did you go to Final Round this year?

I'm still salty about that.
Hey, I'm trying my best to get into the game.
Just that every time I do, you're telling me my TV lags too much and I should buy a TV from the 80's.
And then I go back to play some FPS only to realize I came to hate it. Then go back to play Griefsyndrome realizing it's boring to play arone.
Then in the end just give up on life.

Actually, I'm more scared that when CC comes out, your Nanaya gameplay will improve dramatically and I will have no chance whatsoever.

Anyways, I'll take the game seriously if I can moderately even control Aoko. :v :v :v

Uh, what part do you not understand that it's hard to change the type of game you have been fond of as long as you can remember?
It's not my fault I grew up in the "urban" side of the "rural" side of the country (Yeah go figure).
It's not my fault my childhood consisted of StarCraft, Sudden Attack and Counter Strike at PC Cafe.
And the arcades I went to only had Bullet Hells, Sonic and Megaman.
Maybe you should understand that Melty is the first Fighting game I'm actually even moderately trying to take seriously, so I don't really know what works with what :v

And you telling me Current Code will have Super Bling Bling Ghetto Nanaya does not really motivate me, because I get my ass handed to PS2 Nanaya enough.

You trying to motivate me by demotivating me isn't working much bro  :blah:

It may be hard, but its not fucking impossible. I'm pretty sure all of us here were not handed arcade sticks when they were 2 years old. Still man you gotta think long and hard about what your next move is. If you plan to play this game to a point you will not be considered ass, I suggest you get straight to the grind immediately (especially if you plan on keeping Aoko around which is something I do not recommend at this time). You have a goal set for December which is to play 1.07 but it would seem your urge to play it will only die with your consistent words of irrational thoughts for someone who wants to give a damn about Melty.

I commend Atlanta for giving Melty exposure in the south, but I seriously can't allow you guys to down new players like that. We have new things coming and new plans to look forward to in the future. I honestly need you all to do what's best for your new players and that would include not trolling them if they are the least bit serious about playing. Now I understand moderate trolling gets some people's engines burning for how to blow you up the next time you meet but others take it as a stab at how useless they honestly are in a certain game. I'm sure you understand now (since that NAC troll was like what almost a month ago?) and will be more cautious in the future.

I am only saying this because I want the south to level up in CC (including me) by the time Final Round rolls around and as a whole, be able to show out to other sides of the country that may come to FR in March. Even after then, get a chance to hold frequent gatherings to help keep you niggas in shape. I have mad respect for you all and to Malik, who I promised that I will keep Atlanta in shape in prospects for greater things and a stronger community.

Such beautiful words ;__;
Oh, yeah... CC is supposedly coming out on December with Carnival Phantasm. . .
Which is most likely very overpriced.

I guess I'd do anything for Caster's cuteness. Man, why couldn't there be a fun Fate/Stay Night doujin game. . .

And yeah, uh. . . Miyako seems to be more fun to play with. Not that Aoko is too hard for me or anything like that.  . .

Thanks Shinobi & to try to assist you Kanaganai, do you go to school anywhere in the Atlanta area because Feez goes to GA Tech & random other people play but don't post on the forum much, IDK why especially in the southern part of the country where people need to stick together. Now I can't do much for y'all in NY except to say I'm from ATL/the south when I play but I can suggest that maybe you guys should try to meet at Revival this weekend, I think Dogy is gonna be there this weekend & he doesn't play much at all recently, but I'm sure he'll lend you the knowledge he can & provide a challenge. Also look at it this way, someone has to pick up the flame because honestly, not to brag at all or any but just proving a point, had I not brought my PS2 to ATL-Revival January, I probably never would have known Solidplay, RaishinX, or other Bama folks, you just gotta show up & play man, someone WILL play with you & you never know who you'll meet. Solidplay turned out to basically be my mentor, to me at least, and my encounter with him pretty much gave me all the fuel I needed to try & develop what I could I GA by branching people together, gatherings, etc. *RANT OFF* Basically it's up to you in the end.

I would like to go, but I'm pretty much tight on rides. But if this Melty Meeting/Revival exists by next Fall, I'm pretty sure I'll be there with Vietto.
Meeting more people to play with sounds very positive right now. Playing this game between just me and Viet can get old sometimes because the outcome is always expected. Hence sometimes, Archetype Earth is used.
Hopefully, within that timeline I would actually learn the mechanics within the game and some combos to go with. Still shocked to see some Georgians/Southerners playing this game.

Shouldn't you get your license by September? :v :v Also, if you want, I'm pretty sure we can also go on the 25th if we don't have school work to condemn us.

I don't know if double posting is against a rule or anything, but oh well.
Anyone know about Panasonic Viera TVs in general? I'm thinking of buying 32" Viera and I don't know if its a good tv for gaming in general.  :laffo:

There's no rule against double posting but if it's something about the same topic then you should just edit the previous one but in this case, you're cool. Personally I don't fuck with Panasonic with HD tv if this is HD so I can't say but if it's a SDTV then go for it.

So its a game of luck and risk. I saw some good things about Panasonic so, I guess ill take the risk.
Anythings better than what our tv has to offer which seems like video gaming is out of its league.

So, today I had a lot of fun(?) playing Melty with Viet

I lost 80 matches, almost won probably 2 matches but it was using Ciel so that doesn't really count.

. . .

Then the both of us grieved.

Well there wasn't enough people for *ANY ANIME GAME* tournament and so I ended up playing Melty casuals nonstop for 11 or so hours on the first day of IC (final for the newer Capcom games are today I think).

Dogy played a few matches with me and showed me how sad Kohaku makes people so I was happy with getting in some experience and learning to stay put and respect Kohaku.

Two other people (I think one of them has an account here under the alias Rio) also played a bit, saying they had played up to MBAC and are thinking of picking the game back up when CC is released.

A few others also spectated (it does look out of place as the only Animu game there) and most of them were impressed by what they saw. I did hear one comment that amounted to: "I'd never play a game where I couldn't figure out the gender of the characters." I laughed.

The biggest deterrent to having a bigger Melty scene here definitely seems to be the accessibility issue. With everyone having a USB stick, they could not try Melty without borrowing Kanarin's stick or my stick.

Under the guise of a badly written blog post no one reads, this is really a shameless bump. :V

F-Koha is pretty braindead IMO but there's ways to fight that character. I really wish I was there to give you guys some motivation but hey at least you showed up, keep at it until FR this year, and yeah Ryo has an account but due to PS2 stick accessibility people won't play it or will be skeptical in addition to it being anime, but yeah I commend you for at LEAST trying Geek.

He didn't say F-Koha, he just said Kohaku.

Also, stop listening to what people tell you and come to your own conclusions about characters.

Me and Shinobi may run an event when I get back in early January.  Who else would be able to go?  I want to get a hotel out in Atlanta for a weekend or something.  Could we all split it?

That is MY opinion which is why I said "IMO" & I know who plays who down there unless things have changed & I'm in contact with the players in GA so I know exactly what's going on most of the time & I won't be back home till FR probably. Also Geek, you should ask Roku about that matchup since he has F-Koha exp.
