So as I introduce new players to the community I find it a completely arduous task to explain who mains who, who's from where, and who the known players are.
Thus I wanted to make a known player (not top player, known player) compilation for the regulars who come to most tournaments or very helpful members of the community. NAH need not apply.

Edit: On second thought, let me rephrase what I wanted to say a bit. I realize I may of come off pretty bad to some people thinking this is just an elitist thread/what not. This thread isn't an indication of player skill/ego, this is pretty much a list of players that have attended events quite frequently (to my knowledge, not judgment) and are experienced in tournament play. This thread is to answer questions like, who is in my area?, who has been playing a long time?, who is knowledgeable in this character? There are players that really go out of their way to make it to every event possible and this thread is simply to help newer community members get to know older community members. I'm not trying to offend anyone by not adding them to the list, but anyone can make the argument I (or anyone, for that matter) have the knowledge/reason/experience or say in who should/shouldn't be on this list, treating it like a "secret club".
Everyone knows that's not my intention, and I just thought it'd be nice to have some of the people who work hard in the community recognized for their work. But if it would resolve any problems, I could change the name to "Komidol's Known Player Compilation List" or something of the like, so people can see another player wrote it. That way people can look at the thread and say well who cares about Komidol and not pay any mind to it.
Though I would strongly prefer against that option and that it was a community effort. Ideally I was hoping to just get all the responses, build the list, then delete all the responses and just have a solid resource for new players.

By Sunday March 14th 2010 everybody knew the truth when doren(aka DA GAWD) dethroned then champion Lord Knight in a epic grand finals set. In conclusion 9th in ggac =/= 9th in MBAA.

I thought it was more to be something of a "Hey, these people are considered very knowledgeable about x character. I'll talk to them about this question I had." kind of reference tool.
Nonetheless, I can agree with some of the complaints said in here and have messaged Komidol with the issue. If the community ultimately feels that something of this nature is unnecessary (or potentially harmful to the community altogether), then I will have it removed. For a short while though, I'd like to leave it open to discussion.

The way I see it, this thread is basically showing who you can go to. Niggas first starting out in this game need some sort of character guidance other than what's written on here or on the wiki. This is also helpful for the IRC channel. I honestly want to see it grow to be as large as #capcom one day. What I ask of Komidol is to add people who are accessible on IRC for help on any character.

Even in a community, we have to be easily accessible to the people who are trying to become a part of this great community we have here. You always hear people daily asking questions about who can help me learn this character and where can I get some games in around my area (which is what this sub-forum is for.)
Komi's got the right idea, but I think he worded/came at a few people the wrong way that made some people think this was elitist. Don't get it twisted now. ANY and EVERY player is beneficial and known (to me atleast; can't speak for anyone else) if he/she contributes, supports, or respond on IRC/forums/polls when needed for the community in America and the game in general.
I'm saying this because we have alot of things in the works right now (official podcast planning for one) that can boost our game in the states even more. Iplaywinner has been wonderful giving us a chance to post interviews, basics, and our soon-to-be podcast on their main site from time to time. Having a thread like this wouldn't be half bad, but it needs to go through some changes.
