MBAA was fun tonight.
Warning: stay away from F-Akiha if you enjoy your current main. Bitch is highly addictive to play and distracted me from much of my Aoko testing time.
Also i forgot to bring notepad so as ideas popped into my head, they quickly escaped in the heat of battle. =(
Highlight of the eve was seeing ppl PLACE TOKENS ON A CABINET THAT HAD MELTY BLOOD IN IT (5 tokens total but this was at 10pm on a Monday). It gave me chills and I was quite pleased.

mad fun last night. Checked off a lot of experiments on my sheet and plan to finish off what I have on saturday then I can start trying to adjust to MBAAs 'new' movement.

It's probably a good idea to pair w/ ppl you know so you can get the most for your $$. I spent about $12 (in 5hrs) which was a bit under what I intended to spend so now I have more for saturday!

BBG is done. Expect CF tournaments to start around the time 8 inches of snow starts. I'm hoping for monthlyish, probably start ranbats after a couple if we get solid turnouts. Nothing planned yet that I know of, but I'm expecting something along those lines.

Ok ok ok. I am really trying to play MBAA, but I would like as many people as possible to come.
Call it a tourney if you would like but, but does December 20th sound to everyone? I want to but up something on the tournaments and events board soon, but I want to see if this date is at the convenience of those whom are closest to CF and thoses who really want to come.
It would run from that Saturday afternoon till end and I intend to reserve a hotel room. (I will definitely get rooms more big that last time). If needed I will contact (or have someone contact) the owner of CF.

The more people are there, the less time you have to mess around and figure out the basics of the game.
I mean some people will give you mercy rounds and some won't, but if alot of people are there, you might not get any at all.

major thing you gotta learn is airblocking: a lot of special moves are airunblockable, so you gotta use the shield move in the air to block them. i stole a lot of wins because i was spamming the javelin super/dp.

Whenever I go to CF I'm more hype for pork buns than MB now due to the buttons. I'm even more hype for water from agisan and doyer's than mb actually...
Typical trip is me getting pork buns on the way there, playing mb for 2 minutes, fuck this switch sides, playing for 20 seconds, walking away, beat some random guy that has no idea what he's doing in gg, lose a few games of sf4, play cvs2 and be mad that I can't cancel into 236236, be sad that noone is playing ST, watch a random ky player trap someone in the corner in bb for 15 seconds, leave, probably grabbing some food on the way out.

I visited the Chinatown Fair Arcade for the first time yesterday. Considering that it took roughly 4 hours by car and train to get to NYC, the experience was definitely worth it. I had the time of my life, being able to play in a real arcade for the first time in about what feels like a decade, not to mention being able to play against live competition. Of course, I spent plenty of quality time on MBAA. The buttons seemed to work just fine on both sides. However, the 2p joystick was rather faulty, and sometimes wouldn't register down-right at all, probably costing me a match or two. Still, it was awesome to play it in an arcade, and I can't wait for the PS2 version! As for those I played against, you were all really good, and I had a lot of fun being able to play against you. Intense games! I'll definitely come again soon, which will hopefully be in the summer. Why must I live so far away? :emo:
P.S. - I was the one playing as Len and W. Len yesterday. W. Len seemed a lot easier to play as in this game than MBAC, which is really nice.
