Buffalo, NY.

New here, but just thought I'd post up. We have a large fighting game community here in WNY.

A few of us have started taking MB:AA seriously, so if there's anyone in the area, hit me up and we'd be happy to play.

The food. I've been all over the world, and can confidently say that WNY has one of the highest average food qualitys in the world.

Usually at someone's house for the time being, I'm the process of opening up an Arcade in WNY though, so there soon as I get it going(and yeah, getting a MB:AA naomi cart, if I can find one for sale used @.@, like practically no distributors have them in-stock).

But yeah, anyone is welcome.

I don't really see much point in getting MBAA on the Naomi because everyone in the nation is playing on the PS2 original balance version

Mostly just cause I'm a sucker for original arcade versions, plus they're dirt cheap now($200-$300~).

I used to live up in the greater Buffalo sprawl area, and as far as I remember back then there was no real competitive FG scene outside of a few launcher scrubs who would mash Tekken.

What does the scene actually play up there? If one exists now that is.

Scenes pretty large now compared to then, SF4 brought people out of the wood-work. Right now we get together twice a week, ussually 10-20 people out of a regular cast of 30 and growing. Pretty huge for Buffalo.

Typically have 4-5 stations going at a time,  mix of SF4, Tekken, Soul Calibur, and Melty. Plus as I said, I'm opening a place to cater to this crowd, cause it's outgrown our ability to really host it at people's homes.

I never played guilty, but others here did, no one plays it at game nights though. But I was huge into BB, a lot of us picked it up, but many were really off-put by the balance issues, so only a few of us stuck with it. Since we only have 4-5 stations at game nights, it's hard to justify a BB setup for the 3 people who play it seriously.

I'm planning to pick up the board for Continuum Shift near release as well, long as the loke-tests are positive. If the game is improved a lot, I imagine a bunch will pick it back up.

If you just want a sense of the current Buffalo Community, we all talk on 8wayrun(since our organizer/one host is a major calibur player, we congregated there). http://www.8wayrun.com/f54/

Just look at the Buffalo threads ;0

I'll probably only be there for a week at most, so only a gathering or two at most.  But if I can get in a couple games of BB I'll be content.

CS rom is 4000 dollars btw, and if you don't have a Viewlix cab to install it in that's another 4k.

$2300? Where are you buying yours from?

A friend of mine is buying the upgrade kit and he was giving me the estimate to be close to 4 grand.

I think that's just guess-work based on the price of calamity trigger, which was $3700 new as an entire kit.

$2300~ was the quote from my distributor, since I already have TaitoX2 boards, it's just buying the HDD/Dongle upgrade kit.

My Dist doesn't have a website, but you can see here http://www.arcade-game-sales.com/products/10495-1.html that the "MSRP" is only $2900. Like anything people who do a lot of business tend to get higher discounts opposed to someone buying a single board off the street.
