Nobody actually posts here. :teach:

In other news, Boone currently has a larger Jojo's scene than Melty scene. How?  :mystery:

Repost from HC:

I just put in an order for a legit copy of Current Code. Anybody in the scene that wants to throw in some $ to cover some of the cost would be welcome but not expected. If we're going to host actual events at venues, going to want to have real copies.

I also wouldn't mind lending the game to anyone who helps with the cost etc.

So I'm teaching people this game again... I wonder if it'll stick this time. I'm considering putting up a bounty on myself and giving the first local player to beat me in a FT10 $10 (limit one try per player per week), but I'm not entirely sure it would help.

NC Melty must not die. :slowpoke:

Hi folks. I'll be coming up from Atlanta for the RESE and this is definitely my favorite game right now. I hope we can get in tons of casuals and have a lot of fun! Being only about 4.5 hours away I'd like to build a pretty good relationship with the NC community. I know I plan on coming to the July RESE as well.

Hey ZomB. This thread is pretty much dead right now, but I keep on posting in it just in case somebody decides to pay attention to MeltyBread again. It'll probably be my first time meeting most of the people there myself, to be honest - Boone is pretty much its own little isolated scene. I'm hoping I place well, but I'm looking forwards to getting casuals in too because this game is awesome and I want it to thrive.

Eh, the Georgia thread is somewhat similar. But hey, if you have other ways to get in touch with them let em know I'm coming up and I'm out for blood. Haha. Or at least good matches! Can't wait.

Slowly tagging the replays from KDP. I'll record them and post them to youtube eventually, but here are the grand finals in replay form:

So I actually spent some time today getting melty up and running on my laptop.  So I can actually practice this game again  :)

I had a lot of fun remembering how to play at the KDP tourney and look forward to playing this game with anyone when I get the chance.  If nothing else I can play with Brentfy when I happen to be in Raleigh.  hooray!

Also, good meeting all the new people, and by new people I mean everyone not Brent or Aaron lol.  Next time I will make it a point to actually play a good bit of casuals!

I'll be playing with you guys when I come back to NC in November. It's wierd how even with all these fighting games out now, I'd still rather play Melty / Arcana the most. lol.

Hahaha...Rob told me people were posting here now, and it's just James from when we had the tournament XD

So yeah, PacStrife has my copy now. The only thing I want to do in the game atm is figure out what to do as an air throw combo. Everything else seems mostly the same from AA.

edit: oh and Ries in UNIB plox

There won't be any more TYPE-MOON characters in UNIB according to French-Bread.

I wish My computer could run AACC. I still have combos I want to learn. And not having time for tournaments/sessions sucks.  :(

Melty is going to be at the KDP Poverty Fest tournament in Fayetteville on the 23rd of March (amongst many other games). Posting about it here in case anybody in NC still looks at this forum and wants to come out.

Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/events/316748228450848/

Quote from: Copy-paste from Facebook

Date: March 23rd, 2013
Venue: Elite Zone at 1916 Skibo Road in Fayetteville at the Marketfaire mall.

5$ Casuals Fee
10$ Venue Fee (if you plan to enter tournaments)
Amount of money per game is listed under the different poverty level tiers by the games list:

The idea behind this tournament is pure fun and nostalgia for the classics and old games that had so much love put into them. Don't come out here expecting to get paid a whole bunch of cash or having large turnouts per game (Unless you are competing in UMVC3). Poverty games rarely get large turnouts, they are passion games. So come out, casual players, pro players, oldheads or whatever and just have fun with everyone.

I repeat, you aren't going to make any money here, if you win a few of these maybe you'll make like 50-100 bucks, don't come here expecting to play for the big bucks. It's a poverty game because you'll only get like 5-8 entrants.

Some of these games have prize bonuses, physical items given out to the winner. In order for the prize bonus to happen they must get at least 6 entrants. Depending on overall support of the event or certain games more bonuses will be added.

Non Poverty Tier: UMVC3 = 10 dollars (practice for Marvel invitational)

Poverty Tier: $5 Dollar Games
Arcana Heart 3 (PS3)
Aquapazza (PS3)
Guilty Gear AC+(+r) (PS3)
Street Fighter 3S (Xbox 360)
CVS2 (PS2) (Not guaranteed, dependent upon someone bringing a setup)
Skull Girls (PS3)

Super Poverty Tier: $3 Dollar Games
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (PS3) (Prize Bonus!)
King Of Fighters 2002UM (Xbox 360)
Vampire Savior HD also known as Darkstalkers 3 (PS3) (Prize Bonus!)
Neo Geo Battle Colosseum (Xbox 360)
Street Fighter II Turbo (Xbox 360) (Using HD remix and switching all modes to classical settings)

Ultimate Poverty Tier: $1 Dollar Games
Mystery Game (PS3) Round Robin, Capped at 4 entrants, winner take all.

In addition to the official games being run by KDP the NCSU Poverty Team will be running tournaments of there own as well. This is the list they've given me

$3 Dollar Entry
Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown (PS3)
Vanguard Princess (PC)
Dark Awake: The King has No Name (PS3)
MeltyBlood Current Code (PC)
Dong Dong Never Die (PC)
Samurai Shodown V Special (PC)l
We're also doing Arcana Heart 3 East vs. West, which is free if there is time available.

These games cannot be guaranteed by KDP staff as they are dependent upon a 3rd party running them (although they are pretty reliable and they will most likely be there).

A general time table will be created a week before the event is up. If you're planning on coming please post up a list of the games you are interested in playing to show your support for that particular game and it will help me make the time table as well.

So chances are that I'm going to be moving to NC soon for a job. Jacksonville/Camp Lejeune area.
Do people still play this game in this state?
