When's Melty on Steam?
ahaha that's no--wait, what?

Hello.
My name is Shogo and I just opened an arcade in Simi Valley called Denjin Arcade about 2 weeks ago.
I just want to see how much interest there is on the new Melty Blood Actress Again game and if players would come down and play it if we got it.
So lemme know whats up! ;D
-
I don't even line remotely in that area and I gotta say yes to that.
-
NO! It would make me terribly jealous.
-
I honestly can't see anyone saying no to this, especially on this site.

I don't see why not but you gotta see if your regulars will play it if you want it to be worth the purchase
Denjin is a tad bit too far :slowpoke:
and you need an adjustable drummania chair also :toot:
-
Of course it should get MBAA. However, like uLTraCarL said, it is quite far from a good majority of the SoCal MB playerbase and the purchase will be worth it only if the regulars play it.

I did...
Maybe...

People who say no are most likely thinking in a rational sense (i.e. it may be too far for socal MB player base, posibly not enough people to turn a profit, etc.). It's kind of silly for people outside of the region making a vote (if that's happening). Would it be awesome that they get it? Yes. Would it be smart if they get it? Debatable.
There's also the inevitable rehash that seems to happen more often in this series than any other series, meaning the arcade will likely have to buy another board just to keep up to date. Then again, they, French Bread or whoever developes the series (I honestly forgot), could always do what Capcom is doing with SFIV and release patches instead of new, actual boards with each new release/fix.

actually capcom has never patched SF4, and patches are not the same as adding new characters...
shogo i dont think youre going to get a reasonable response here...
-
Yeah you should put up like a tallot box or something or see how many people play the MBAC cab daily. Everyone here is going to say yes, except for like hellmonkey.
-
Tempered's idea sounds solid, get a feel for how much your locals would put into it, and go off that. We're all fanboys here, so we're of course going to push for every AA cab we can get our grubby hands on.

As a person close enough to drive to denjin 1-2 times a week or more for evening till close sessions, I would play it a lot. I already go there for MBAC and GGXXAC. My vote is yes.

He's not going to get a reasonable response anywhere. If he posted the thread on SRK and the choice was between inhaling sulfur and playing MB:AA, people would probably inhale the sulfur.
Honestly, I think he's looking for volume more than anything. You may get 100% yes votes, but there's something to be said if it ends up being 1, 10, or 100.

I didn't say they did patch the game, but apparently they plan to. If I heard correctly or understand correctly, a new "updated" version of SFIV is to be patched upon the console/Western release. Also, given the way SFIV is run (hardware and such), it's very possible they can add new characters with patches.

well of course the console release will be patched plus have new characters. but thats totally different.
we're only talking about arcade releases- they'll NEVER release a "patch" that'll add new characters that aren't already on the hard drive. it doesn't matter "how the hardware is" or if its possible. patches are to fix bug and thigs that break the game.

I voted no just to balance out the results, but I really meant yes.
-
I unfortunately wouldn't go up there often for MBAA, but I'd try to attend any tourneys that happened.
-
well MBAA can't patch like the taito games can
they'd have to either do a new cartridge/game method or do something like with b -> b2 via insert chip here or something like that
at least you have one person here that has a vote that matters, lol Soniti

Would one person be good enough to dish out some cash for a game?
If I were to buy for an arcade, I'd like to see it be used at least a couple times a day. Not just button mashers but actual people who know how to play the game or willing to learn it and will come back to play some more.
Button mashers would play, look like they are having fun, then get stomped on by someone who knows how to play, then never play again.
-
Yes you should buy a board and donate it to me

Me too.

All things considered, it looks like there isn't enough response to warrant Denjin getting MBAA. For an arcade that's already planning on BlazBlue and already plunked down for SF4, it's unlikely that they'd make their money back on MBAA anytime soon.
On the otherhand, Bagrat from Denjin Arcade told me that he'd be more than happy to put up a banner for Melty Bread in the arcade to spark up more interest. We'll see how that goes.

Cool.

hopefully everything works out... i know in NYC CF i know they making out pretty nicely with MBAA so far... but it's NYC.. not SOCAL... so i hope for the best...

hmmm i wonder who are the 3 uncontributors :prinny:
-
2 people in this thread said they did, and one said maybe. One more said no in a post but didn't say which way they voted, if at all.
