I really want to go but there is no way I would be allowed to drive all the way there in my car. I may be able to work out something if i can meet you at your starting point and ride with you the rest of the way. I should be able to help some on the gas costs.

Ah Orange County, you should be fine driving down to Arcade Infinity sometimes because they have the cabinet for Melty Blood and players go there sometimes every Friday and Saturday night.

Any alternate routes if anyone knows? The only one i know is taking Valley most of the way.

I just started playing the game last weekend at FFA and I've been hooked ever since...so what do I have to do to get put on and possibly do some casuals with you guys??? :D

Welcome to the scene. Not sure about casuals any time soon, but you can check out this (http://www.meltybread.com/forums/index.php?topic=1596.0) thread. It's for a tournament but you can still get plenty of casual play even while the tourney is going on.

By the way is there any way to get to know the storyline of the game and characters and game structure on any of these threads on this site? I have no clue how to read Japanese (I'm sure ya'll ran into the same problem lol) and I want to learn the nuisances of the game and its storyline. From just playing it though it seems the storyline is about serial killers and ghouls and ghosts...?????

Well there isn't an anime for Melty Blood but there is one called: Tsukihime.

On the plus side, AI has this wicked Azumanga Daioh Bubble Bubble game that I played with my friend for a good half hour. Sakaki is top tier for a reason I cannot adequately explain.

AI mostly, FFA MB scene is dead for casuals. Players only go there for tournaments.

OMG! Yes! I played it a couple times this year at Comic Con and definitely would love to play it again. Anyone know if they have Arcana Heart here? And damn if they got BlazBlue (or is that just FFA that's supposed to get it?). I'm down in San Diego but may make the trip to hit up this arcade. Is this the closest place to San Diego that has SFIV and Melty Blood? Guessing the answer is yes because I didn't see anything else in the arcade locations sticky.

AI Fighting Game list: SSF, SF3S (2 cabs), SF4 (Big ass screens), Melty VB2, GGAC, Basara, Battle Fantasia, Arcana Heart (Original), KoF98um, KoF11, KoF 98, SamSho5, KoFMI, CvS2, MvC2.
Main games i see competition in most are SF3S, SF4, Any of the KoF's cept MI, and Guilty Beer.

Yes it is. It might be a 1 1/2-2 hour (I used to do it every other month with some friends just for some beatmania iidx, while I lived down there) but it is a lot closer than driving 3-3 1/2 so hours to FFA.

There will be guilty casuals at FFA this Saturday (on consoles, ~$1/hr per person, we have a deal with the owner). There should be at least some Melty crossover (at the very minimum, myself) there. They also have SF4 there, and they are confirmed to be getting BlazBlue on its release date. If anyone wants to show up sometime during the evening/night, that would be cool. I should be there from sometime between 4-6:30pm till at least 1am.

For those of you in San Diego I know Arcana Heart 2 was at Tilt in Mission Valley mall as well as Horton Plaza. Been a couple months since I've been back to play them but I was really surprised, not to mention happy, to find those in SD.

I still play it sometimes. If you are curious about whether people would go to an arcade to play MBAA (ver.A) that is a definite yes IMO.

I'm still playing MBAC on my PS2 slim.
STILL need to play the arcade version, which i'm sure has more than 1 version. Correct me if i'm wrong. I've never played MB away from my PS2.
And i need to be sure what arcade in Los Angeles County has any MB arcades, and please do not mention A.I.
I've visited FFA recently but they no longer had it, and for some apparent reason they replaced it with Killer Instinct 2.

Denjin Arcade in Simi Valley has it (outside of LA county by a little bit though)... although it's not set up right now -- from what I heard the Naomi board it was on died :'(

Watts to Simi Valley is about a......4-5 hour trip. I would love to visit Denjin, since they also have Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3. Might visit Denjin someday. :)

Meh, just the group that hangs out at the WMMT 3 DX cabinets. It started at their forum.
But they happen to visit Japan Arcade where i always hang out on weekends and it wasn't serious.
But i know they hate me.
