After running a side-tourney yesterday at Northwest Majors, I got some decent turnout and I've decided to make a thread to hopefully get some new players and get a scene for AA going. A lot of the people up here also play Guilty Gear and Blazblue. We usually have weekly meetings in the vicinity, usually in Tacoma or Federal Way. Games often played are GG and BB (now including AA!) and just some random stuff when we get bored.
There are no AA arcade machines here, sadly :(
Our events are of course local tournaments, including Northwest Majors (Washington tourney), Random Select (Oregon tourney) and Vancouver Overture (Canada tourneys!).

I've gotta play after my embarrassing defeats at the tourney, it doesn't help that aoko is hard, and she's different now. Not sure who I'm gonna play yet but it'll probably some version of aoko, some version of satsuki, or some version of ryougi. There's an off chance I'll pick someone else.

You guys don't post up when you're doing MB meets! I've been watching for em ever since AA came out. I'll especially come any time after today, after tomorrow I'll be champions onlineless until the 28th. It also takes me an hour to drive down there so I need a little bit of warning.

Apparently there's a cabinet in South Hill Mall (in Puyallup), according to someone on SRK. They didn't specify AC or AA but I'm going to assume AA.

Last time I went to the arcade in South Hill Mall, it was AC ver.A and the buttons weren't in the right order (something like DCAB). Told them a couple of times but it never got fixed although that was maybe June of last year.

Hey, just a friendly reminder to anyone in the Seattle area that wants to game that we meet up weekly on Fridays at Digipen College. The school is currently closed right now but will be opened I believe next week? Make sure to come by! There's usually BB:CS and GG:AC set ups too for those interested.

Oregon feels soooo dead. I managed to get three people at Oregon State to try and pick up Melty. I just doubled the Melty player size at Oregon.
OSU's having a LAN party March 2-4 weekend, no details yet. But I can almost guarantee you it'll have SSF4. It's not Melty, but I'll be there with my computer and stick to play anyone that wants to.

Hey guys, were going to try and set something up as a side tournament for Northwest Majors 4. The tentative date is in June as of right now, but details are still being hammered out. i know this is short notice, but i'm going to be in the udistrict area, which is supposedly near the uw area, for the entire weekend for a tournament. i'll be free most of friday(tomorrow) afternoon and hopefully sometime during the weekend, so if anyone is up for some melty, i would be down.

What times specifically? Most of UW melty is generally available in the evenings to nighttime, probably after 6 PM (we are a nocturnal bunch).

There was only one tournament in seattle over the weekends and it was a smash tourney. Plus your signature was sionspectre so we guessed your handle was probably sion when the results for the tourney came out.

Good games last night by all. MissedFRC returns to the melty scene by stomping on UW in the first MissedFRC kumite. 3-0's pretty much everyone with 2 last arc's to boot.
MissedFRC punches through the wall, turns around, and says "YOU ARE ALL FREE NOW!"

I started this event in hopes that our community could start a local monthly tournament scene for the games that don't get much exposure and or tournaments in the Northwest.
My goal is that this series might evolve into something big with the help of our local community's attendance and participation. This month's tournament will serve as a test run, and to
see how everything works out with the venue and time constraints. I plan to add/subtract games depending on how things go this month. Persona 4 Arena will be added in August.
The venue is really nice and has a fair amount of room, but we will need people to bring setups so that the tournaments run smoothly. There is a small $3 venue fee that needs to be paid
when you walk in. The event will be streamed via twitch.tv at an unannounced url.

There are people who know of melty blood in seattle and can play it with varying degrees of proficiency. They usually meet in UW every friday.
As far as getting them to play you, that may be more difficult. If you force them to stop playing tohou shoot-em-waifus and mega man speedruns, they may play a few games with you, albeit most begrudgingly.

Hey, just moved to WA myself, situated in Redmond for now, though this may change to another nearby location maybe in the next month, but I'm in the area for good. But I may try to make it out to whatever meets for melty will be there as well. Looking forward to meeting other players.
Any idea what the general fighting game scene is around the Seattle area as well?

So as far as Melty Blood goes, it hasn't gotten much play around the area. That being said, if people ever wanted to play, a couple of us will be glad to play.
