It's been a while since I dropped in here, so I thought I'd let you guys know I'm still alive. We didn't just get smacked around by you guys and give up on life, or anything. XD
We've had some techincal difficulties. One of us lost interest in Melty Blood after losing so much that night, and now starts using the excuse of "it's boring to use the same character all time" like he's got ADD and can't play a match twice with the same setup. It's. . . frustrating, but I guess he think frame counting is a moral crime or something. XD
The other one of us, the Ryougi player, no longer has a working PS2; he can't practice at all, and only ever really had one day to spend learning his character. He does really well, considering, but I don't think he can really improve and learn the better combos for his character of choice without having access to the game. I'm working on getting Melty set up on his laptop, but even then, with the slight lag, it wont be quite the same.
I remain the only one of us with the access and desire to really do anything. . . but with one of our number down and another out of practice, my efforts have slowed considerably. I can only spend so much time in training mode without ever getting to use what I'm practicing before I get bored, and the chances for me to get out and do anything with it down here are becoming fewer and further between.
On the bright side, we did hit up Anime Expo at the start of this month; we missed the Melty tourney they had out there, but the two of us that are still interested crowded around the arcade machine and the PS2 they had upstairs and basically owned our way through waves of noobs for several hours of uninterrupted play. Made me think it must've been what you guys felt like when we went up to play against you! XD
So, yeah. Once the two of us get back on track, you'll probably see us again, but we're still on hold until I get Melty up and running for him. Hope you guys had fun at Evo, and we'll see you when we see you!
