Holy shiiiiiiiiiiiit, I saw the videos of her and she looks DOPE as hell. She looks like she'll be SSS tier, man, I love how she looks like she plays. Awesooooome.

Not to mention the fapping material this will spawn.

WHERE'S OUR SEIFUKU AKIHA DOUJIN?  :fap: :fap: :fap: :fap: :fap:

Honestly though, I don't see why TM needed to give 3 whole grooves worth of movesets to an alternate costume. She's fapable enough in the short skirt without the different moves. Specially when the movesets could have been tweaked a bit and given to a completely new character, like SHIKI Tohno. (the crazy blood manipulator, not Banana Shiki.)

Oh well. *raises anti-flame shield*
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: Van_Artic May 26, 2009, 01:21:13 AM
those BnB's do a lot of damage, she'll probably be mid-high tier
and she's more fappable than akiha-v.akiha  :V
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: Jen May 26, 2009, 01:34:52 AM
I think they might be able to tell Akiha has more fans than siscon Shiki.

Anyways, why don't we proceed to analyze 50 seconds of footage?

: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: LoliSauce May 26, 2009, 01:42:21 AM
The flametongue that hit high, you mean the one that looked like Akiha/vAkiha's AD at far range?  That shit definitely looks like an AA special.

Overall it seems like she loses some setups (pits and whatnot) and gains some zoning with her massive range specials?  I dunno, but I love her airthrow.  lol

I really hope her ridiculously ezmodo bnb gets toned down though, seriously.  5k is dumb for a midscreen bnb with such little effort, even with low defense.
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: Jen May 26, 2009, 01:47:45 AM
Well, we haven't seen anything that looks like a 22 yet... she could still have some setups.
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.

I think I'm gonna have a new main come the PC version of this. :D

I'm going to have to learn how to use a pad AND a new main unless someone helps me figure out how to get a keyboard to input into PS2 MBAA.

And to assist in the worship of our goddess here's an image off of Gelbooru:

You will learn how to use a pad/stick to play MBAA PS2, for S-Akiha's sake.  :prinny:
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: LivingShadow May 26, 2009, 03:35:53 AM
I'm looking forward to the new Akiha. Anti-air Origami ring (or whatever that's called) looks like an interesting move to work in to combos and zoning. It reminds me of Warc's bloodrings except stationary and maybe a smaller hitbox.
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: abitofBaileys May 26, 2009, 04:43:50 AM
EX version seems to be a combo chainer.  The damage isn't bad either, she pulls off a 4.3k invalid on Len...[/li][/list]
This is because the jB (?) afterwards was too late I think, if she did a launcher before it would be valid, I suppose. I can be mistaken, but the invalid only appeared after the jB and not the 5A.

And even if they manage to dick THAT up, there's always the PC version which will inevitably come out 1-2 years later for those who still care enough about balance. So don't worry about damage ratio's too much. Absolute worst case scenario, we have a character that reaches the MBAC Ciel level. We've dealt with HER all this time and lived, Azaka can't possibly be as bad.

Not really that ridiculous.  A MBAC Warakia BnB ending in airthrow does 4590 to Vermillion with no damage reduction and no criticals.  Considering that Warakia has weak damage with and without meter, the Ryougi only reduced three hits, and SAkiha got one critical, that's not ridiculous.
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: abitofBaileys May 31, 2009, 09:39:33 AM
Talking about ridiculous damage, Nanaya's jC 5B 5C 2C 2B jBC jBC airthrow does 6300 damage with no reduction and critical hits and 4400 with reduction and no critical hits on VAkiha.
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: Ultima66 May 31, 2009, 10:40:05 AM
Warc meterless bnb without a jump in is 5k on Vakiha. Miyako and Sacchin both get 6400 off of j.C with 100% meter. Sacchin also does almost 9000 damage off a j.C in blood heat, but that doesn't really matter.
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: LoliSauce May 31, 2009, 11:17:30 AM
Yeah, but this was midscreen, meterless combo that started with 2a.  Warc 2a5b2bc5c j.bc j.bc does 4.6k without crits or damage reduction (I cant do the extra dash j.b lol).  Nanaya 2ab5c2c5b j.bc j.bc combo only does 4.5k to vAkiha.  Miyako 2a5b6b2bc5c 236a6a j.ac j.bc meterless corner combo does 4.8k.  I imagine the only meterless 2a combos that can touch 5k on her are Akiha and Arc corner combos.  Those take some execution.  For such an effortless combo to do 5k damage, even with shit defense, that is ridiculous.

Edit
According to Benny who tested out the Arc meterless corner combo damage for me, her basic 2a5b2bc5c 5abc 5ab2b4b j.bc j.bc does 5.4k.  One of the highest damage meterless combos in the game, a corner combo with pretty decent execution requirement, does 5.4k.  sAkiha did 5k with an ezmodo combo.  Now tell me that isn't ridiculous.

With reduce damage and criticals turned off, Aoko has 5036 meterless midscreen BnB on VAkiha with 2a5b2b2c5c3c jc jB dj jb jC tj jB jC.  In corner

2a2b6a6b623A starts combo

whiff 2a 3c covers tech backwards, tech forward, and no tech with VAkiha blocking if she neutral techs.  She takes 5125 if she doesn't tech, 6144 if she techs backward, 6918 if she techs forward.

5a5a5b covers neutral tech and missed tech with VAkiha blocking if she techs backward.  Neutral tech results in 7379 damage and no tech takes 5381 damage.

If they respect that enough to not tech, you can do a combo that does 7923 damage(this one actually requires decent execution.)  Heat punish combo with j[C] j[C] airthrow does 4899 damage(real combo does a bit more)

Are you guys really comparing MBAC values to MBAA values? 1: the damage wasnt done to Vakiha so thats more than likely 6.5-7k on her if she keeps her glass defense. 2: Ciel does 5.5k with shield cancel combo (yes, starting with 2a on vakiha) which is meh execution. Also that was loktesting so theres more than likely going to be some adjustments.

The reason we used VAkiha was because maybe Ryougi has really low defense too, which would explain why the combo does so much damage.  The alternative is that they decided to making SAkiha do massive amounts of damage meterless.

I'm going to have to learn how to use a pad AND a new main unless someone helps me figure out how to get a keyboard to input into PS2 MBAA.

If you have a fairly well-spec'd PC, you may be able to run your MBAA disc on your PC using PCSX2. - from there you should be able to set up your keyboard as a controller. I'm going to try this myself because I'm absolutely terrible with a pad, and will post results and/or instructions on the main board when I do.

Are you using the default plugins? As I recall, I had to install new graphics and sound plugins to get games to run at a decent speed, but after that I didn't see any lag at all.
: Re: Thread for our new goddess.
: Jen July 08, 2009, 08:40:33 AM
Well, to give you an idea of what I'm working with:

Intel Dual Core T2300 1.66 GHz
1.00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400

I did try a variety of plugins and settings, but this was about 2 or 3 years ago, they might have made some progress with the emulator.  If you think I still have a shot making it work I'll look into it.

Honestly I don't know. I've only emulated Disgaea so far as I haven't really come across other PS2 games I'd wan to run yet (excepting MBAA of course :D). This setup:

Core 2 E4500 2.2GHZ
2.0GB DDR2
NVIDIA 8600 GT

lagged pretty badly under the default PCSX2 setup (it had  10-15 FPS frame rate + some serious audio bugs).

Then I switched to the following plugin setup:

Base App: PCSX2 0.9.4
Graphics Plugin: GSDX 846 (MSVC 15.00, SSSE3) 0.1.9
Sound Plugin: P.E.Op.S. SPU2 1.9.0
Controller Plugin: SSSPSX PAD Plugin Pressure Mod 1.6.0
CDROM Plugin: Linuzappz ISO CDVD 0.7.0
Dev9 Plugin: STOCK
USB Plugin: STOCK
FireWire Plugin: STOCK
BIOS: USA v01.60(07/02/2002) Console

With that configuration I get perfect frame rate (no lag or audio stutter under any conditions, even during the most intense animations). I'm not sure how much "wiggle room" there is, though - it could be that it's just barely good enough, and a more demanding game or less powerful computer would bring the framerate woes right back.
