There is a problem with your links. Remove the quotations and the extra http.

Fixed now.. I don't know why, but the forum automatically puts in an extra http..

Thanks for pointing that out.

So, according to the rules, I'm not supposed to post vids in the vid subforum?  :psyduck:

Well, my guess would be that one's for casual matches and the other is specifically for tournaments? Although I believe that rule has been kind of bent anyways...

yeah,it's kind of a flexible rule. If it's a featured tournament with video editing and stuff, it'd go in tournament results anyhow.
<bellreisa> arly *has* given up 3s
<bellreisa> retired it anyways
<linalys> no he hasn't
<linalys> it lives on in crouch shield
<proxyZAR> and it will die there too lol

the same reason zar lost to me.

Alex G was getting his inputs, i wasnt.

when i played Zar, i was getting my inputs, he wasnt.

That and against Alex G, i wasnt really playing smart. Everytime he did the air 2C and i teched, he always hit me for that. When i didn't, he waited and 2Ced me. He was either able to see it on reaction or he was listening to my buttons. And instead of like, staggering strings, i kept on doing 236B. Just lousy playing in general combined with poor decision making while Alex G was playing well screwed me over. Shoulda just picked Kohaku and randomed it up.

And in between this tourney and when i went to NY i hella practiced to make sure i didnt mess things up AS MUCH.

Well using 2C as an air finisher for Akiha is like absurdly stupid, and I pretty much raped the guy at FRX so I was curious as to what happened.

Don't let it happen again >:O!

Akiha j.2c is very good.  Almost unescapable in the corner, and can be teched stupidly midscreen.
<Xenozip> actually i think miyako was intuitive for linalys
<Xenozip> simple because his playstyle is.. well..

Why the hell don't the Japanese whore it out then? I had Alex guessing which way I was going to tech everytime he did it, shit was stupid. Seriously now no matter where you are on screen if she gets you in an air combo her throw is going to send you packing right into the corner where she like rapes half the damn cast anyway.

I don't think I've ever seen Zar use that to end an air combo either.

The thing Alex G ends like ALL his combos with it.

Its sort of a gamble whether to tech out or not because she can tech punish easy if she see it and you'll eat another BnB or say you don't tech and again she sees this she can either relaunch and do it again or setup a EX Flame pit

Guaranteed knockdown into corner + arguably the best offensive front in the game > guessing for more damage.

It's not guessing.  Akiha has all the time in the world to see the tech and punish it.  If you don't tech, it's not air techable so she does whatever the hell she wants.  Maybe Psy can explain it better.

I've still rarely seen it used in match vids Linalys.

And if that's the case I should have been easy pickings, but I sure as hell wasn't.

Using j.2c as aircombo ender is only really good in corner.  She has ways to punish every single tech direction, and also has ways to punish nontech.  Ending in j.2c when not in corner is bad, because all the opponent has to do is back tech and Akiha can't do anything to punish that.

That's what I was thinking too. Ending with a j.2C midscreen, she has all tech options covered except for back. If she tries to punish a back tech it would require her to dash forward and by the time she's in rage to punish the tech, the opponent has already landed and can block whatever she decides to punish with whereas with neutral and front techs she can stand there and do whatever.

You didn't lose because your exe was trash. Watch the vid again: every time you chose to ground tech which direction was it, 6? Chibi, Psylocke, and H-F are the only ppl that know wtf theyre talking about on the j2c topic and they are correct about it being utter trash at mid-screen.

You just made the job easier for him by not mixing up your tech options. Choosing 4 at mid-screen would force the Akiha user to have to dash in for the punish. 8 recovers the fastest out of the three options so if the Akiha player thinks they can "react" to it theyre in for a shit-load of trouble when it their 2C gets shielded and promptly punished. You chose to stick w/ 6 and occasionally tried to out-yomi him by doing nothing (=/) but it got you nowhere in the end.

I was highly impressed by our casual sessions at SAUF2 and couldn't figure out for the life of me how you lost to such a shitty gimmick. But whatever, now you know and if I see you lose that j2c mid-screen trash again I'm going to punch you in the face next time we meet.
zar are you even aware that your attitude is what drove people off in the first place. i think zar's attitude is worse than all of that. cause neither of you guys mean anything. but zar can poison shit around him. zar's the one that gets personal online and does realtalk that's out of line.

Don't let it happen again >:O!

First of all we played on one of the TV's with lag, and i couldn't even do ground combos on that, we can play at evo for $100 though.

Secondly, the 2C in the air is great in the corner. Midscreen not so much, but if I try it and they keep getting reset by it, y wont I keep doing it over and over like i did.

I'm not doing money matches for over $10 because I won't have the money for it.

And you're right, the tv was lagging, but you were still doing j.2C in the middle of the screen and I kept teching back or kept you guessing for it. I'm pretty sure you didn't get a round on me either, but whatever.

I meant no malice when I questioned why Rob lost to you but beat Zar, but Melty Blood wise Zar is without a question the better player (as it's his main game) so take that how you will.

If this means you'll take the game more seriously though, all the better, but if all I did was scuff your pride then I'm sorry.

Zar - i was referring more to the finals where i had the winning combo and i dropped it. Happened way too often. But it was my own fault, and im not gonna dwell on it. Im just saying that im ready for it if i ever play him again.

I was also teching backwards when he did it mid-screen in the finals, but it didnt save me in the end.

I unno if finals are going up or not, but either way, thats the past, im just looking forward to the next time i play
