I was mad during our match cause I kept messing up my air throw to end combos...I'm not sure why cause that doesn't usually happen to me. shoulda played some casual matches before the tournament i was thrown off by the widescreen view on the laptops...makes the jump angles look different if you know what I mean. good job tho
edit: just realized I lost to the ppl who got 2nd and 3rd lol

Man, I'm not that good. I use too much 5c, because my practice partner doesn't bara cancel, so its was 100% safe when I used it. Also, against my fights with Damian, B just wouldn't come out when I needed it to, like the dust loop. And I just learned the whiff cancel pressure around... My fight with reloy. So, I still got a lot to learn, but I am just so happy I won 3rd and spending all that time not doing homework paid off... without actually being paid money.

i'm not liking these vids much, my akiha played like a pussy and my ciel is a scrub T_T
as for the nam vids... i think they are against nas (shiki), damian (ciel), tiamat (arc), rei (v.akiha) and against my ciel.

Yeah, our matches were not fun times, simply because we both somehow ended up bringing our absolute scrubbiest games till the final match. And even then, shit happened.

Hehe, this tourney was very fun. 7th place for my first one? I feel happy :D. I was the one with the toshiba laptop, and yeah, both me and Nam have copies of all of the replays, including friendly matches, all 47 of them. Nam said he's got a guy to get vids up so yeah.
Though Nam and Reloy, (mainly Reloy) thanks for bringing the CD for the game.
However, next time if we can get some PS2's, it would be nice. Having to exit the game every time kinda got annoying. But the PC version saves replays though, which I guess evens it out. But yeah, I'm going to need a lot of work on my V Akiha (I was the only one :()
Nas, thank you soo much for organizing this, collecting money, etc. We need to do this again.

Actually yeah, Theres a bus that takes you from NYC down to DC for like 20 bucks, but you'll have to get people to pick you up when you get there obviously. I know the name is called the Deluxe, I jsut can't remember the specific pick up place and destination, sorry about that. The next c3 isn't for a while, so you got time.

lol...I suck at this game. I guess I shouldnt be surprised with my performance considering i dont own the game and this was my first tournament. I wanna say it being Version B threw me off (since the only version i've played is console) but I probably would have gotten raped the same lol. I'll definatly enter the next C3 is MB is there. I really enjoy playing this game and I wanna get better at it

I wasn't happy about verB being so sudden since I hadn't played it yet but I'm ok with using it for future tournaments...not good to get caught up in older versions too much.

Yeah, I was somewhat hesitant to bring B2, seeing as it was just released a day earlier, but we both wanted the quick action button, and I really like the color choosing system. Plus, I'm not going to let those darn Japanese who had this game in arcades for half a year get ahead of us!

If you play with stick, you can hit the Quick action button to Heat, or hit a direction with the quick action button to throw. Its pretty darn useful.

There would be 2 more matches posted, but one(Which was a 5 minute battle btw) is 1 megabyte too large, and another is 9.8 megabytes, so I'm assuming something unexpected happened in the encoding process, or magz uploaded the wrong one.. :-\
Anyway, Starting tomorrow, I'm going to try to help out magz by doing the replays from the other computer. (Just got fraps today, and I get to be taught how to use adobe premier tomorrow) So far, magz has uploaded the videos from Rei's computer, and thus, we haven't been able to see 4r5's and Miyagishin's matches(Which, by the way, are really close matches). And besides, two people means the whopping 36 vids will be finished twice as quickly. Hopefully my vids will be around the same quality as magz's, so no one would spot the difference. ^.^;

It might have been because the sizes were pushing on the 100MB limit (windows reported 2 or 3 of them at 100MB).
That can be easily fixed by opening up the AVI's in virtualdub, selecting start and end points with Home/End, setting both video and audio to direct stream copy (audio set to source audio as well), and then saving as an AVI once more. I'd recommend cutting out a little bit of the beginning since it's only the matchup screen.

I was being extra cautious too cause I'm not used to fighting Akiha either...I shoulda whiff canceled more stuff with 5A and been more aggressive but I was worried it wouldn't turn out well so I just kept summoning things at the end of blockstrings lol.

Please stop using メルブラ、秋葉、志貴 search strings. As you know, people use those strings to search for japanese videos, you've probably done it yourself as well. By using them in your own videos, gradually you'll take that freedom away from other people. Typically the japanese players will refrain from using american text as well.

After some consideration, I'm going to have to weigh in and say that I don't support the convention of naming US Melty Bread tournaments with Japanese katakana (Merubura). It's far too confusing for both US and Japanese players looking to find specific regional examples of play. I won't go as far as to ban you for not complying with it, but it definitely makes looking for Japanese-only vids a bit more time-consuming, and between Melty Bread, work, Denjin Video, school coming up, and Hardcore Gamer Magazine, I don't have a lot of time on my hands these days. Thanks.

Typically, we only record Top 8, but it's still a lot of work. But sets of matches should be kept in one file for simplicity's sake.

I don't know what's the big deal really. If you properly tag and title your videos, it shouldn't take more like then 2 seconds to know if the player is or is not japanese. Oh well, if that's what they want then who cares I guess.
Interesting though as to who made the comment. That's the same fellow who complained about my friend doing the same thing. I actually think I know who he is on this board...hilarity.
