OK first off I really want to apologize to the Melty Blood players that showed up.  I had no clue that people played this game.  That's awesome.  I love the game.  You guys need to make a topic in the regional forum or something so I know you guys exist.  I was just going to throw this tournament on because I thought if we got lucky we would get 4 people.  But 4 people showed up and entered nothing but melty blood so I knew I had to get a casual station going immediately.  Sorry if the tournament felt like it was going unsmoothly for you guys because in my opinion... it was.  Like I had to ask Nappy to run the bracket for me, when I was just going to run it really quick after Tekken 6 was finished.

It was awesome to see a turnout for this game and I'm glad you guys came out.  Next time we are going to have 2 melty stations and 2 SF4 stations and are dropping BlazBlue altogether.  So you will be able to play casuals all day and the tournament will finish quicker because I'll have someone assigned beforehand to run it.

Again, I'm really sorry that I was unprepared for you guys and it was nice to see that there is a few players around.  You should definitely get a topic going in the regional section on this site and start setting up some gatherings or something, I'd probably come because I want to play the game more.

Also if you have an account on this site and someone knows the names of the characters and the styles that were used for this tournament let me know, I'm pretty unfamiliar with this game.

One more thing, next time I run this it'll be 5 dollar entry so the prize isn't that bad... again it was just meant to be a side tournament for a new game that I like, but I want to make it worth people's time to come out again.

The tourny was fun, even if Tekken stole the show. We showed up at 2 PM, got some good casuals down, met new Melty Players. It's good to know that I don't have to drive down to Chicagoland just for a fucking match.

Haha, sorry for resorting to C-Kohaku last round. I had trouble getting passed F-W.Len's ice traps as C-Riesbyfe. Probably should have sticked as C-Hisui, but I wanted to try out my super special awesome new character. I couldn't have asked for a meatier j.C. I guess I just need to play moar. =D

Good games to everyone I played!  I'm pretty surprised I won but eh...I still have a long way to go before I'm satisfied with my skill haha.

Shoutouts...

Webster - fun casuals we had, too bad you left early but I think you should keep at it in mbaa.  You're not bad at all and we can always sneak in casuals at the tourneys you host.

Magnus, TP, Nidba - It was awesome meeting you guys, feel free to contact me via cell, pm, or irc if you wanna meet up for casuals.  I'll even teach you guys how to play iamp if you want! haha.  Good games in mbaa, looking forward to playing again!

blazblue - how does a nu lose to a tager  ???

Also Syxx don't worry about the poor payout or anything, I don't really care since I mostly went to play melty and wasn't expecting to win.  But if you host another tourney I'll be sure to go again.  Also is sf4 always gonna be on the 360?  I'd enter it for sure but I only have a ps2/3 pad so that's why I didn't bother entering.  Oh yeah and I take it mbaa didn't get recorded?  As for the results, I'm going off of memory and my memory is pretty terrible...

1) Sima Matty (F WLen)
2) Magnus XL(C Roast Beef, Kohaku, Hisui)
3) NappyJin (F Ryougi, Sufuku Akiha)
4) Syxx (C Mech Hisui)
4) Chazro (C Miyako)
6) Team Purple (C/H Sion)
6) Nidba (forgot)
8) Mr Man (C Nanaya?)
8) Digimon Emporer (F Roa)

and...

We had some awesome matches, Sima. You have a pretty solid W.Len game. I'll call you for a throw-down one of these days. Don't mind my use of China in IaMP, though. :V

Also: Nigba played H-Ryougi, but he mains Aoko (all versions, mostly plays Half and Crescent now).

Please save the drama for your llama; I just deleted several inane posts. Conflict and drama drive communities but come on.

Thanks for the names of the chars.

Oh regarding sf4 on 360.  One of the players had a converter that let you use a PS2 arcade stick or pad on the 360. :)  He'll probably bring it next time, he's usually at every tournament.  The guy who won sf4 borrowed it and played on ps2 pad.

The next tournament I'm going to start Melty at 1pm so I can focus on getting the bracket done so I can run it myself.  The way I see it, as long as we have the same setup, what I'm going to do is start off with 2 tvs for melty blood (one for casuals and one for tournament), 1 for Tekken 6 (which will be out by then) and 2 for SF4 (on the other side where there isn't much room to move in and out), then after melty is finished switch Tekken 6 to 2 tvs, and have one for melty casuals.

There is limited space but the venue is much cheaper than any other venue out there.  Some places charge 10 dollars a person for venue fee while Paul only wants a much smaller amount.

As for recording, I meant to bring stuff to record but I was in a car accident a couple weeks ago and had just got my car back today, leaving me with just enough time to grab a few things before rushing to racine to get set up and start sign ups.  Next time, next time.

The next tournament is going to be on October 31st.  Hope to see you guys back again.

Good games everyone.

I'll actually start practicing again so I can actually be worthwhile comp next tourney.

Maybe we can get casuals in before then or something. Who knows.

Ya if you bring your tv again next time and also ps2 that would be awesome.  Hopefully someone won't get mad when I take down their TV and set up an even bigger TV in its place with the same god damn game next time  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D::)

Maybe next time I'll win...

Hopefully I'll not be too horribly lazy and get my stick ready for use on PS2.
