Props to Choco, but I also wanna give a shout-out to my boy: Q-chu. The dude had a mediocre Red Arc during PS2 times but once MBAC B2 PC came out, he must have praticed all day and all night. Now he's nearly 50/50 to Choco. (Of course, Choco will deny that!) I'm 50/50 with Q-chu, but I don't do as well as he does when I'm matched vs. Choco.
Gotta support Jaxx, too. Even though you're comin' to Melty Meetups less and less, I'm gonna put my faith in ya when you say you're still practicing. VF5 is poo... okay, it's really good poo. But meh to it! Play more Melty >: | And yes, I'm a VF hater because of my 4 wins / 80+ losses with Goh. Actually, I'm not. I love VF5. (.. sort of)
I demand another AZ Ranking Battle after Evo.

To me, these results aren't that surprising. Choco's been working on offense since Day One. Of course, his flaw is defense. Seeing that he's playing with people crappier than himself in AZ, he's never learned how to REALLY block. So put in a teammate that can beat up on someone who's beating up on you - you won't have to worry about defense as much. Just kill them faster than they kill you.
And yes, I'm aware it's a teams tournament. It's not a clear definition of skill. But its not random luck, either. Notice everyone in 2nd to 4th place are big names. Veteru's been playing for years and knows the game machanics very well. Leo and Arlieth are WT Champions who have proven their skill through tournament results. If teams were truly random, you'd see no-name Joe Shmoes placing in Top 4 - and that is not the case.
I look forward to the results of Singles. While I'll admit AZ probably isn't good at blocking, we've come a long way and we ain't stoppin'. Choco used to slaughter us all, but his wins are getting harder and harder. We're all learning about this thing called blocking. Once we equalize, you can bet AZ will be a force to be reckoned with.
