Basically he super jumps up, does 214B blood ring, and then gets an option to do another ring or whatever the shit he wants to do afterwards. He was running that shit all day. I got frustrated playing him on Friday, but instead of trying to chase him down I just set up shit and started throwing pot books and eventually it got to him, but it was a crazy test of my patience. Red Arc is built for rushdown and zoning, but to see someone play her with a keepaway mindset was something new I had to adjust to.

Yeah the whole super jump blood ring was a bit frustrating to deal with at first, but then I remembered, I have 236C which is a full screen attack. Doesn't get all the hits for full damage but it at least serves as a deterrent late in the round so it didn't seem all that bad in the end.

-Got thrown to Losers by HF Blade. :-X
The revenge! >:D

You're gonna have to define STORM-INESS regarding Q-Chu :p
I think he's comparing his playstyle to Storm of MvC2. ie stay really high in the air where the opponent can't reach you and abuse a move.

Sorry for not following up on the MMs guys. After the tourney, I felt that I wasn't in MM condition. :(

Guess ill defend myself then.

But bro, do you even practice?

yes -,-

Seriously, you were like ALL over the damn place playing her, I couldn't get a read on you at all. You were doing shit like full screen super j.C god knows how many times, shit like j.C, j.C, j.B.B. midscreen as an air combo, wake up 2.A when there's a chair RIGHT INFRONT OF YOU IN THE CORNER, keeping me grounded like once in the corner and putting chair or bento out (and not doing that when you got a throw off me elsewhere) and then never doing it again, not throwing out something to lessen recovery after air throw, and so on and so forth.

I do have to agree that my Hisui play is rather ... eratic. However, there are other things that i try to take full advantage.  One thing is her speed.  This little maid can move around the screen surprisingly fast and has little recovery when landing on the ground with most of her moves.  She also has alot of spacing tools which i use to keep my opponent in check (thus the table).  She is also an exceptional tech punisher when in the right hands.

Looking at specifics in the match  I caught with a shield several times trying to poke me after a wake up.. I even out threw you a few times before your bento exploded against a bento setup.  When you caught me several times in the air with a shield/throw, i eventually got smarter and out threw you a few times.  As for my 2bb's in combos, sometimes i am able to catch  another invalid air juggle if i am fast enough, or if i just need some space between us (IE safe heat activation).
I am quite aware of all of Hisui's setups and tools, being a Hisui player myself.  That's what makes mirror matches rather scary. Its all about who can outsmart the other.

Refine your shit and start raping. Stop doing that BnB of yours as well, it's only useful if you use 5.C before the actual air combo (like to tech punish after air throw).

I perfer that BnB of mine because it works well on almost all characters and i can get it off like 90 percent of the time. There is also room for error. =P

Take it as hate, but Zaelar said you were almost as good as me, and I took that as an insult. Shit was like a wake up call, I want to be the best fucking Hisui in the US so next time we meet we'll run that shit back.

I actually take that as a compliment.
In any case, ill be more then happy to take you on again next time we meet.  :)

Mailorder, I don't like how you call my reasons excuses. Not every fighting game player can justify things by saying they were beat by better players. I got sleep before my money matches, thus I was able to stay very focused. I whine about TV lag because it is INFURIATING to do a j.C that hits, try to follow up with a ground attack, and just stand there because I pressed the button one frame too early.

Another point, though (which is why I never say that I SHOULD have won a matchup that I lost), is that my opponents have to put up with the same thing I do. This is something I mention all the time, in fact. Something you've heard me mention all the time. I'm a bit disappointed, Mailorder, because there's a clear difference between making excuses and presenting an explanation, and your "no johns" attitude brings me down.

If you're tired, it's your own fault you didn't get sleep.  Find something that keeps you wired, or like.. get sleep.  Yes, I heard EVERYONE was tired at Evo.  If that's the case, then everyone's at equal level since EVERYONE is tired.

Uhh.. it seems that we're on the same page regarding TV lag.  Your opponent is playing under the same conditions.

I have no intention of bringing you down.  If anything, I'm extremely hyped and happy for your success at Evo.  Maybe it's just your tone when you explain your losses.  It feels like you don't give your opponent any credit - as if you have decided that you are definitely better than them, and that you were SUPPOSED to win.  You've just explained that you're not suggesting that, but I guess that's not how it's coming off to me.  How about this.. if you've got a valid explanation as to why you lost, you need to find a better way to present it.  There is a correct and professional way to file a complaint.  (in my opinion. yeah.)  The way you do it now, it feels almost disrespectful to your opponents.  I have no problem with explanations, just excuses.  And yes, it does seem that I have a different definition for excuse/explanation than other people.

And don't feel like I'm only picking on you.  When Arlieth gave his "explanation" for the results of MBAC SBO Teams, I told him he was giving me a BS excuse.  "Team Captains were tired".  He made it seem like Arizona wasn't supposed to win.  Perhaps he wasn't trying to come off that way, but they way he phrased it... it felt like Arizona only won because California was tired.  However, Arlieth did mention something to me which I felt was a valid explanation to Arizona victory, which I've got no problem with.  And I'll explain that in my response to Master Chibi.

I'm not going out of my way to harass any single person or choose sides.. because I don't.

You're gonna have to define STORM-INESS regarding Q-Chu :p
I think he's comparing his playstyle to Storm of MvC2. ie stay really high in the air where the opponent can't reach you and abuse a move.

Gotcha : p

Basically he super jumps up, does 214B blood ring, and then gets an option to do another ring or whatever the shit he wants to do afterwards. He was running that shit all day. I got frustrated playing him on Friday, but instead of trying to chase him down I just set up shit and started throwing pot books and eventually it got to him, but it was a crazy test of my patience. Red Arc is built for rushdown and zoning, but to see someone play her with a keepaway mindset was something new I had to adjust to.

;3

Arlieth mentioned SBO Teams was single match.  Which is why Q-Chu did well.  People didn't have time to adjust to blood ring madness and they lost.  Perhaps if it was something like First to ______, Q-Chu may have lost.  If Q-Chu didn't do so hot in Singles, and according to Dipstick... lost to Kenmasters who sucks balls at MB/doesn't play MB, then I'm led to believe this is the case.  But either way, I'm still gonna give my props to Q-Chu.  He's come a long way.

SHOCK AND AWE

----------

I'm cool with "explanations" of why who-beat-who.  I just don't want to hear "excuses" like... people were tired.  You don't hear that excuse in professional sports.  Yeah, that team because they were tired.  Exactly.  If you're tired, get some sleep.  Or improve your personal health so you don't get fatigued as quickly.  Even Fatal1ty of Doom fame mentioned that he exercises in order to survive playing hours of FPS each day.

@2:48
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q275Qh4ESao

Of course, then comes the debate of whether "professional gaming" should be taken seriously.. but that sort of argument should be reserved for another thread.

After all I've said, I wasn't at Evo.  Take what I say lightly, but give it consideration.

I WAS TIRED

...is a valid excuse. because i was FUCKING TIRED and FAMISHED. And if i lost because of it, than i'll take it as such. Next day, i ignored the "no food" rule and snuck in some food. Not everyone takes this as a professional sport, and i honestly dont give a shit what FaTaLiTy says about professional gaming.

seriously, EVERYONE WAS TIRED. GG tourney manager fucking slept in the middle of the floor from exhaustion.

It's cool if some people aren't playing to win.  Some people play just to have fun.  And that's fine!  In the end, it's just a video game.  But if you're one of those people, just don't complain if you lose.  You take the game less seriously than others, so you should expect not to win.

And just so everyone knows, I consider myself someone who plays for fun.  Of course, I like winning.  But if I lose, I give that person their respect for beating me in either mind games and/or technical skill.  I won't try to justify my loss.  They were better than me, because they took the game more seriously and practiced more - whether it's in training mode, or having the physical and mental stamina in keeping their mind games fresh.

How about this: Being tired is valid excuse.  But it still means you lost.  Don't discredit the winners - the winners had more stamina, and that's a valid victory.  Scott, looks like you're cool with this.  I just hope other people agree.

Yeah he should have.

Bro, that doesn't mean anything when you're wizzing around the screen like a madman. Also 'little recovery when landing on the ground for most of her moves' sounds like a cop-out way to feign knowledge on frame data for Hisui. You didn't throw out a normal once after any airthrow you did, so that defeats your statement right there.

Quote
She also has alot of spacing tools which i use to keep my opponent in check (thus the table).

That doesn't explain anything, especially given the way you were just going bonkers. I used a spacing tool to keep you in the corner (the chair), but you just completely disregarded it and woke up with 2.A anyway. Luckily for you that shit didn't clash with the chair, and I had to pay for it, so I had to go back to training mode and figure out why. Still, common sense would dictate not to fucking throw anything out when THIS CHAIR is right there in front of you.

Quote
She is also an exceptional tech punisher when in the right hands.

Yeah, but the entire time I watched you playing you almost never tech punished. Keeping an opponent in the corner with a fear of tech punishing after the air combo with Hisui is a far better option then much anything else.

Quote
Looking at specifics in the match  I caught with a shield several times trying to poke me after a wake up.. I even out threw you a few times before your bento exploded against a bento setup.  When you caught me several times in the air with a shield/throw, i eventually got smarter and out threw you a few times.

You 'outhrew' me? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Quote
As for my 2bb's in combos, sometimes i am able to catch  another invalid air juggle if i am fast enough, or if i just need some space between us (IE safe heat activation).

An invalid air juggle is invalid for a reason. Stop using j.BB in an air combo unless it's in the corner to set up for tech punishes. You're far better off getting an air throw with higher damage from her regular BnB and playing on your opponent's tendencies to tech then that shit you were doing.

Quote
I am quite aware of all of Hisui's setups and tools, being a Hisui player myself.  That's what makes mirror matches rather scary. Its all about who can outsmart the other.

You didn't outsmart me, I was too stupid from being mad. And if you're aware of all the tools, then use them correctly and stop making up shit to use whatever the hell you're doing right now.

Quote
I perfer that BnB of mine because it works well on almost all characters and i can get it off like 90 percent of the time. There is also room for error. =P

My BnB is 100% universal, can be altered for distance, and doesn't get a RB penality by going from 6C to 2B. The only reason you should be using that is if you've already used your 5C at the start of a combo (ie as a tech punish from a previous mid screen BnB). Start practicing it. I'm serious. Get her corner shit down too, and her tech punishes.

Quote
I actually take that as a compliment.

Well I'm not out to make enemies, but it's insulting to sit here and do all the 'good shit' with Hisui, only to have someone feed me lines otherwise.

God damn I want to be a fucking beast now, I dont' want anyone else in the US with a better Hisui then mine, fuck this. I have to thank you for that wake up call.

@ Mailorder:

Fuck that. Being tired is not a valid excuse. I was probably the oldest MB player there and I had just as much energy as the people there 8 years younger then me. If you're hungry (FOR MB, NOT FOR HOT POCKETS), get some sleep, eat some food, and fucking go for it. Winning is fun. Play for fun by winning.

I'm not even going to bother doing shoutouts because you all suck, except for the people that don't suck -- and they already know it.

Although without the help of Choco, LoliSauce, and Arlieth, I wouldn't have been able to go in the first place -- but I can't be caught expressing my gratitude to them in public. Have an image to maintain, and all that

jaime is a good player, i dont know why everyone in EC says she sucks and doesnt even play much. it woulda been one of my interview questions if i found her.

Because she doesn't enter most of the MB tournaments and the one she does enter she hasn't done very well.

Also lolololololol at everyone there thinking I was going to make top 8 and then being surprised that I didn't when I don't make top 8 at EC tournaments. Then again, anyone good on the EC wasn't there either...

Also lolololololol at Chibi lecturing Numakie on how to play Hisui. That's high comedy.
Worst Nanaya and second worst Ryougi player in the USA

I'm not picking sides, but keeping a cool head is part of the game.  If someone's managed to break your concentration, then that's all part of the mind games.

It's like how you don't use mind games vs. someone who doesn't have mind games.  Being able to change your playstyle down to a less-than-graceful playstyle in order to beat a different kind of opponent makes you a better player.  Shoot, didn't you just say you managed to adjust to Q-Chu's playstyle?  And if Q-Chu couldn't re-adjust to what you did, then you're the better player.  Next time you meet Numakie, prove you're the better player by being able to adjust.

Yes it is. I actually think getting angry is BETTER, but only if you can control it. Zar playing when he's angry scares the fuck out of me. I just get angry and want to kill my opponent asap, and then 95% of brain cells call it a night and I'm done. I wish I could control that better. I really wish I could.

Huge amount of thanks to you Tom, this would have been quite an ugly to task to perform without you guys. You've got to be the best contribution to the MB community since it's birth, god bless.

Also, I'm hugely envious of your scene out there. We have just as many players here (in NYC at least) but the number of people who actually bother to take the game SERIOUSLY are relatively low, especially in comparison to your community.

Let's get that TROPHY shit going! EC vs WC!

Mailorder: You know, you've got quite the high-and-mighty attitude for someone who didn't even show up. Dial it down a little.

After all I've said, I wasn't at Evo.  Take what I say lightly, but give it consideration.

How am I being high and mighty?  I'm aware that I'm not at any skill level to beat the top players.

If you want any more humility out of me, I'll be glad to give it.  You, Leo, Magz, Scott, Linalys, Zaido, Numakie, Alt, Lain, Zar, XAQ, Dipstick and Master Chibi could probably destroy me right now.  I'll be the first to admit I need a lot of work in Melty Blood.  If anything, I've been saying that I'm glad I didn't go to Evo, because then AZ probably wouldn't have won SBO Teams.

If you're saying the high-and-mighty attitude comes from me trying to lecture people in keeping cool or fighting game philosophy... then I have no idea what to say.  It's not my intention.   Just as I'm sure it wasn't your intention to make it sound like AZ won SBO Teams because California was tired.  You can ask anyone in AZ - I've lost my cool before, too.  We're only human, we all have.  But we should always strive on improving - turning that unbridled anger into calm and calculated fury.  (yes, I used big words to sound cool here)  Just tell me straight up what you don't like about me and I'll STFU... or at least I'll tone it down.

And I'm being serious.  I'm not an egotistical person.  But I am direct.

I said Numakie is about as good as Chibi, not almost as good.  I'd like to take that back and put Numakie as almost as good now after thinking about it though, although this doesn't count any time Chibi gets mad.  I still have the best Hisui in the country KTHX.

I don't know why anyone says Jamie is bad either.

I want rematches!  Next we meet the Satsukis and Chaoses of the west are being lined up!

It's your lecturing when you don't have the experience to back it up. Plus the excuses/explanations topic. Everyone already knows what they need to work on from Evo, so your comments are unnecessary.
