BBGX...One month after the events of BBGIX, the warriors returned along with several new faces to once again determine who was the strongest. This time the warriors sought to do battle in the ancient art of TAI CHI. Thanks to the teachings of his sensei, jiyuna tapped into his unawakened chi and was able to defeat all of his opponents. Captains should be determined upon assignment.
- Captains report starting teammate to a judge. Judge announces opponents for first match to both teams after.
- Winner stays on to face next opponent
- Losing team decides next teammate (that has not already played) to continue the set.
- Coin Flip for Player side upon request. Winning team of the toss must keep the side they request for the entire set.
Game Rules & Stipulations *Applies to both SINGLES & TEAM events*
- Bring your own controller!!!
-Game will be played on VERSUS MODE with default damage settings and timer (handicap and quickmatch will be turned OFF) *For you fags that want to run your gimmick characters*
- Gameplay balance will be set to PS2 Balance (Original).
- Player Side (optional) : RPS/Coin Toss to determine player side. If a decision can't be made, Judge will bitch-slap both players and force a coin-flip for player side (using an american quarter or chinatown fair token most likely).
-Player1 gets the option of Stage Select- no questions. If you want to choose stage then flip/rps for P1 side otherwise just select Random to save time. jiyuna edit- NOT FOR FINALS. HYPE STAGES ONLY!
- Winner must stay with character/Loser is allowed to switch characters.
- Winner is allowed to switch Moon Style (Crescent,Half,Full).
-No game freezing, invincibility, gamebreaking glitches/bugs allowed *I actually found some gamebreaking shit for NAC so I felt this had to be mentioned. Ryougi LA isn't considered game breaking (as of yet) and is allowed.*
-TYPE EARTH ARC IS BANNED *Do you even have to ask why? All consoles will have non-hacked version of MBAA but just in case: All Eclipse characters are banned too. Basically, any character that's not already on the select screen (with the exception of TypeEarth) can not be chosen.*
- Pausing during matches is not allowed (duh). In the event of an accidental pause, conclusion of the match will be decided by Judge(s).
- Button Configuration is to be set before the start of the (official) match. Use training/versus to test buttons, etc. and restart. *Best bet is to choose characters to start the match, pause and configure buttons then return to character select screen via pause menu. It won't take up that much time.*
-Blind-pick/Double Blind-pick upon request (notify Judge). If either player requests a blind-pick then their opponent has no choice but to oblige. Players must choose both character AND moon style before revealing their choice to the opposing side.
- Auto-fire not allowed
- Macros NOT ALLOWED. You have an E Button that gives access to THREE shortcuts. *If you see anyone mapping A+B/A+B+C/A+D buttons or whatever, let me know and I'll shut their shit down promptly.*
- Don't be a queer; shake hands after the match. Man-hugs are optional.
Alright, same rules as the last one. Teams will only take place IF THERE IS TIME, singles takes priority. I don't think anything else needs to be said about format, but if you have any questions just post up.
As everyone knows, BBG is a tournament FOR THE PEOPLE.....run by the people :psyduck: We need YOU fools to come through and make this tourney happen. Of course showing up and supporting the scene is huge, but we also need people to provide the tourney essentials: TV'S, PLAYSTATIONS, TRANSPORTATION, ETC. If you can help in any way, post up and let us know what you can provide. Everyone will be bringing the hype, but I dunno how far that will get us if we don't have any systems to play on.
CASUALS FROM 1-3PM, TOURNAMENT STARTS AT 3PM. PERIOD. The extra hour we got is great, but I want to use it for casuals since we have a lot of new players joining the scene. Those of us who have done 12+ hour casual sessions over Sp00ky's might be sick of it, but I remember back when I was starting tournies I would go just to get in games against good players.

SINGLES IS FT2, FINALS FT2, GRAND FINALS FT3. STANDARD BBG RULES (keep char, flip for side, etc). If you OCD players try and start arguments over stupid shit (like coin toss procedure), I'll just give you back 5$ and take you out of tourney.
IF TIME PERMITS, I WILL RANDOMLY DIVIDE EVERYONE INTO 2 TEAMS AND DO ONE BIG TEAM TOURNAMENT 1$ entry (if you a man, use a diff char than you did in singles. Not necessary, but encouraged). These are always more fun, imo; everyone gets involved and makes sure everyone is watching the match/cheering for team instead of playing EFZ in the corner.
HYPE STAGES-first of all, we gotta remember to turn SE/Voices down and turn the BGM up before tourney. And yeah, fuck it, I'll pick stage for finals (with crowd approval). I want dat FATEFUL SHOWDOWN, but anything hype (NOT RED STAGE/RYOUGI) should be good. If this shit gets recorded we gotta remember that people who weren't at the event will be watching and anything to build up the HYPE helps.

2x TV's confirmed right now, XAQ has 2 that we used last time; Fox said earlier in the thread that he would pick up Xaq and the TV's- maybe you guys can check with Sp00ky and see if you can crash there Friday night then transport everything at the same time.
Recording equipment? That's up to other people; if someone wants to step up, feel free. But shit takes a lot of time and effort to get done; frankly, I don't wanna try and pressure people into wasting mad time putting up vids for what I assume is gonna be a pretty laid back tourney.
Even though we got extra time before tourney, I just want people to use it for casuals. Last tourney a couple players were complaining that they didn't get any casuals; hopefully people are respectful enough to give up their spot after a couple games. If we have time after singles, I want to split everyone up in 2 groups and do a 10v10(or however many people show up); these are always more fun than team tournies imo. If we don't have time, we can just use setups to finish up some MM/Grudge matches. I really wanted to hype up XAQ vs SaltKnight runback, but SK is not showing up to this.
Anything "special"? Drinks, Dice, SMM, Costumes, SPECIAL GUESTS, frostbite, MB, hype, etc etc...BBG is always special! And I guess we going to shitty Ajisen like usual.

Wahhap'n? Thought you said you were bringing your TV in addition to Xaq's 2? I also have a 25" (I think it's a bit smaller than that) that I can bring but someone will have to bring a PS2 RF Switch to play via antenna. I'll go as far as putting the TV in my lap for the ride if I have to, assuming you won't have room in the back. Please consider this cus I'm fiending to see more TVs get delivered (on time) this time. And I'm not talking about the ghetto one that didnt work the last time. :-*

Yes, if this can easily be hooked up I beg of you to at least bring it. Check with Spooky/Jiyuna and see if you can hook up to other tv setups to cap casuals and stuff. I'm assuming Spooky is holding down (just) the Top8 portion of the BBG media as always and it's only right that he gets priority in which set he wants to use to record any footage. I'm going to try and see if Mynus can bring his card/laptop down too for recording casuals/prelims or something. His setup is braiiiinnnnnlessssss. That being said:

Please consider the recording of casuals and/or non-Top8 material. I personally believe that our community can vastly improve with access to match footage of more people playing (i.e. the saps that couldn't make it to top8). Spooky , I know you said that this time around you will be editing, encoding and upping ONLY top8 footage this time around and I'd like to help you fulfill this promise so I am personally volunteering to purchase dvds, compile some non-top8 footage (really easy with the cap devices- trust me) and distribute to the BBG entrants at the end of the event. You'd only have to tend to top8 productions and nothing more. I'm hoping that you, Jiyuna and myself could further discuss this as a group before a final decision is made on this subject (as there may possibly be issues with timing w/in the event).

CASUALS FROM 1-3PM, TOURNAMENT STARTS AT 3PM. PERIOD. The extra hour we got is great, but I want to use it for casuals since we have a lot of new players joining the scene. Those of us who have done 12+ hour casual sessions over Sp00ky's might be sick of it, but I remember back when I was starting tournies I would go just to get in games against good players.

SINGLES IS FT2, FINALS FT2, GRAND FINALS FT3. STANDARD BBG RULES (keep char, flip for side, etc). If you OCD players try and start arguments over stupid shit (like coin toss procedure), I'll just give you back 5$ and take you out of tourney.
IF TIME PERMITS, I WILL RANDOMLY DIVIDE EVERYONE INTO 2 TEAMS AND DO ONE BIG TEAM TOURNAMENT 1$ entry (if you a man, use a diff char than you did in singles. Not necessary, but encouraged). These are always more fun, imo; everyone gets involved and makes sure everyone is watching the match/cheering for team instead of playing EFZ in the corner.
HYPE STAGES-first of all, we gotta remember to turn SE/Voices down and turn the BGM up before tourney. And yeah, fuck it, I'll pick stage for finals (with crowd approval). I want dat FATEFUL SHOWDOWN, but anything hype (NOT RED STAGE/RYOUGI) should be good. If this shit gets recorded we gotta remember that people who weren't at the event will be watching and anything to build up the HYPE helps.
FOX- I'm just posting shit online; you're the one who's actually gonna make this tourney happen. Can you get in touch with XAQ and confirm the TV situation? Kirby/Rayza are confirmed for 1x TV; XAQ said he had 2 and you said you had 1- does that mean we got 4 TV's available? Can you let me know what's good? I can provide hype, "beverages", and candy; but i'm assed out when it comes to transporting TV's. Let me know soon so I can start working out other arrangements if need be.

The reason I chose to turn off "Once Again" option was because some players may want to switch Moon/Style in between matches (as both the loser AND the winner are allowed to do so). Also p1 has the option to change stage regardless of win or loss.
Now sometimes (probably often times) people get a bit excited in between matches and start pressin' dah bootans in a rush to get their next ass beating. In the instance the winner wants to say change moon/style (I've done this) he now has to wait for the round start then pause and blahblahblah. (...Actually this is kind of a poor argument but whatever).
Also, I personally feel it's helpful in the media/commentary aspect (esp. commentary) . In between character selections and loading screens, commentators can use that time to discuss and analyze the prior match, play styles, character buffs/nerfs, crack jokes etc. Instead of the viewer staring at character art and listening to bad/weird techno (or listening to the commentator go off about 'god, I hate these loading screens/it's too long' - sorry, Tinshi. You still got solid commentary though), they can get more insight about the game and players. This is esp. good for new blood. Finally, it adds more DRAMA and gives the players a chance to contemplate the previous or next match.
Kinda 'meh' arguments but in the end, it's on the host, who is Jiyuna this time around. And if it's really that much of a problem when WATCHING (sheesh) just fucking skip it. I skip load screens and rd openings all the time unless theres (gasp) commentary I want to hear. =/

I'm willing to give up my spot in Fox's ride (assuming I had one to begin with) to make room for another TV. (Yes, I'm very hungry right now). With the addition of Rayza's TV and possibly Hals we can have FIVE TV's present for the event (6 if one of Xaqs tvs arent being swapped).
About 50 matches per hr on each TV for 6 hrs = about 1800 GAMES! :psyduck:
