As for the cup, if Tom had it ready, he could send it with a SoCal group.

Very few people are dumb enough to pay that much for the right for some foreigner to take their money.

The structure of the Melty Cup only works if the fight for first place would have been competitive... which it won't be.

Just asking out of curiosity, is the "no same characters" rule still in effect? I figured since Arly isn't running this anymore it might be ok to bend the rules a little though it seems finalizing the entry fee is most imiportant right now.

It's not an issue of being scared; it's an issue of knowing the prospective odds and for the vast majority of people that would consider entering, their entry is massively ----------------EV. Now some of that can be made up by the intangibles of playing in such an event (which is how most people justify entering tournaments in the first place), but that kind of money is too steep for that alone to overcome that.

If you're going to call me scared, I'm going to call you a mouth-breathing simpleton that can't understand the first thing about statistics or how to properly judge a match-up. You would make a terrible handicapper.

At the rate people are dropping out the tourney is looking to only have 2-4 teams in it.

This is pathetic.  It won't be a team tourney at this rate, it'll be a moneymatch.

I'd say just ask him.  The event itself more or less doesn't exist already, no cup, no region lock, and honestly I think everyone here would rather have twice the people in the tourney than twice the prize money and only 3 or 4 teams.

Ok, just got done talking to Tom, here's what's going down for the team tournament.

- Two of any character not allowed on the same team.
- $25 entry fee per person.
- Two man teams acceptable.
- Format will be single match, double elimination.
- Seeding will be done by region / scene.

Controller issues will mirror that of singles.
