Hydra GP Is having an open exhibition on September 24th, 2011 in Tokyo, Japan at 10:00AM~7:00PM in the Tokyo Metropolitan Industry Trade Center (address details below). This will be the first event with free play for v1.07 of MBAACC available.
Ecole CEO and Arcadia Editor in Chief will be in attendance.
The CEO of Ecole will be announcing the complete financial report for Melty Blood, and giving a status report on Under Night In-Birth. The Arcadia Editor in Chief will give an interview and talk with the tournament winner and a discussion about the event.
You can register at the door, but the tournament limit is 64 people. It costs 500 Yen ($6.00 US) to register.

The winner receives an autographed copy of the Melty Blood 1.07 edition of Carnival Phantasm 3. In addition, they will receive a one-of-a-kind pendant.
There will be free play of 1.07 when the tournament isn't running. This tournament will have similar prestige to GO1's victory in SBO and Hare's ladder ranking victory last year, and Hydra GP/Arcadia is looking to make a new plate to enter a champion into. In short, this is going to be the biggest melty blood event of the year, so if you're going to be in town after Tougeki, this is what you want to goto.
Kiriya, Jin, Niiya, and SAT have already announced their attendance.

It Begins.
To clear up some misconceptions:
1) About the schedule, 11AM is when registration closes and v1.07 Freeplay will be available from 10AM->11AM. Finals are expected to start at 3:30PM. The award ceremony will start at 4:30. After the award ceremony, Under Night In-Birth will debut a new character.
2) This is a 1.05 tournament, and the last major 1.05 tournament. 1.07 will be available for free play from 10AM - 11AM but they will then switch out the cabs for 1.05 cabinets. This of course means the tournament will be held on arcade cabs, and not on PC. 1.06 will not be released, it was petitioned by the MB Community to continue development into 1.07 by GO1 and a handful other of top players. Ecole listened.
3) I do not know when the v1.07 copy of Melty and Carnival Phantasm 3 will be delivered to the tournament winner. Even if they receive it on site (highly unlikely because Carnival Phantasm 2 won't be out for another month yet), I doubt that said person will be leaking v1.07 or anything of the sort. Infact, I think it's somewhat disgraceful that more than one person came to ask me the possibility. Of course, that would be detrimental for the game, the scene, and everyone would know who leaked it (since only the winning copy would be released) and that person would probably be banned from tournaments in the future. I will be at Winter Comiket when Carnival Phantasm 3 and MB1.07 is released, so if anyone wants a copy of the game from then (I will return to America shortly later), contact me and let me know. I will buy the copy for you while I'm there, assuming I've been forwarded the cost of the game.
4) I believe that there will be a Q&A time available, but I hardly think this will be a press conference for people to ask and answer questions. I know we all have things we want to ask, but I feel like this will be mostly an opportunity for the top players to mingle with the staff and get some ideas before 1.07's release. Again, I hardly think 1.07 will be released on the spot to the tournament winner. I will confirm after the event.
5) UniB will be given a status report, there will be no free play for the game available to my knowledge.

If past events are any indication, 1.07 Loketest will have a stream going. I don't know about the tournament itself, though. I'm fairly sure, like all major Japanese events though, no attendee's may have recording equipment.

Since LK is here I'm going to introduce him to all the top players today. I think that's a good idea also, Zar. So, I will tell all of them that should one of them win, to please mention the international communities strives and efforts recently.
I had a talk with Korean CL. We're going to try and steal 5 Minutes of Ecole's CEO time to talk about the community and the game from an International perspective. For a short time, Kamina, myself, Dakanya, and CL have had an international group on Hydra GP and we have been talking a lot with the JP community. So me and CL will be having a talk with him.
I could use some help with this (I would especially like Curbeh's input), because this is a big chance for us to deliver a message directly to Ecole's CEO. If anyone wants to bounce some ideas or highlight ideas that are very important, now is your chance. Because of how big the event, it's only a potential shot, but me and CL will be making every stride.
Remember, Ecole is a business. So try to make points that potentially lead to making money. That's what they'll listen to the most.

If you guys agree the best rated are in fact good, that could be a good opportinity. I'll paste them all here so you can see if anything picks your attention...
* Old Options: choose what font will be used for damage (MBR's, MBAC's or MBAA's); the voice for "round 1", "fight", "arc drive finish", etc, and the music to play in character select (MBR, MBAC, MBAA);
* Combo challenge mode: similar to SF trials, to teach the newbies their bnbs and stuff;
* Gamekey: when people pay for it, they take it more serious. Also prevents piracy and gives money;
* Ranked matches: these days a fighter needs it or it'll stay behind other... also promotes competitivity;
* A Story Mode: like there was on MBR, to explain a bit of what's going on and introduce new characters (like they introduced Sion in MBR).

I hate the announcer in MBAA and i don't particularly like the one in MBAC PC either.
I'd even pay extra for the option to select Aoko as my announcer.

It's ok xD We know that. But the sooner the ideas are transmitted the better. We never know how many patches will come or if they'll make a next version. I mean, they can even implement it via patch anytime.. I just though this could be a good opportunity.. If it's not then just ignore me xD

I think it's hard for players to give business minded suggestions, but imo a ranked match style netplay mode and challenge trials are minimum requirements for a home version nowadays, pc or not, althought it would depend on who against and how competitive they want to be. But adding easter eggs and flavors is up to how much extra stuff they think the game needs to sell according to the masterplan (since it's gonna be sold w/ CP, I'd bet not much).
I'm all up for the international community spotlighting tho, unfortunately all I can do is wish Komidol good luck.

DISABLE THE FUCKING OPTION TO PAUSE DURING VS MODE
this is far too often overlooked in modern ports of fg's. I recall chibi mentioning to me though that the creators of skullgirls implemented a feature in their game that makes pausing mid-match highly unlikely (hold several buttons + start of 5f or so).
Aside from having to develop a GOD-LIKE training mode (which I hope ecole continues to try and build on [gl getting at vf4e status though]), I feel that having the option to switch between arcade and console balance should be considered as well.
As for business-minded suggestions, we should try to construct a "portfolio" of sorts demonstrating our dedication to the game and scene(s) (I *think* this is what komidol was getting at, guys =/).
This site, for one, can be presented to ecole staff along w/ other international sites of the same caliber or better (e.g. that brazilian[?] site cristu mentioned or if EU has stuff setup too). There's the facebook mb acct. as well, I believe (and twitter?). we also have bits of footage which will further display "our" devotion/loyalty/whatever to mb (theres the BBG stuff, evo footage, an mb interview on Rithli's youtube acct., various EU/latin american/S. American youtube and stream footage, the wiki pg, guides and tutorials, etc).
I mean, if they want a reason to even look our way, I feel that we have to put something together that's worth their time so they can shell out the bucks to help us get what we want (and of course what they want. CAPITALISTS BASTARDSSSS).
...but yeah. "It's time to wake up" or however the new meme/catchphase goes.

Let me answer some questions to hold you guys over. I'll be making a full report by Wednesday. Friday and Saturday ate up my time in attendance, and today is Sunday and I have a life or death final coming up Tuesday. So I'll just keep it brief for now, when I make the whole report you can probably draw from that.
1) Hydra GP isn't a bracket tournament. There are no "full results". The tournament format is completely different (as the tournament was more or less a selective invitational), so there is no "brackets" or "full results". For now, I will just say 1st is Hare (C/FSatsuki), and 2nd is Ashe(C-PCL), 3rd is Hagi(H-PCL). In this picture, Hare is on the right.

2) In accordance with the me still trying to rid this misunderstanding, Garu is 100% fine these days. He's just been through a lot since EVO. Infact, I can honestly say that I believe he's stronger in game since EVO. I'm sure LK can back me up on that from when they met a couple weeks ago. I think since his visit to America he's learned to troll us more.

3) The message was delivered and me, Korean CL, and Manabe had a talk about the future of the game. And let me tell you, that guys knows how to throw a party. As you can see, maids were taking the registration.

I will post the details of the talk I had with Manabe to the best of my understanding, and also a lot of footage I took, and things I noticed in v1.07 testing all on Wednesday.
Though I will say the Archetype's stage is the best in the game, fuck the rest. The music is beyond godlike.

Manabe is the CEO of Ecole. Since Melty is made by frenchbread and a doujin game he's not the creator, but as the publisher's CEO he has a big say (or I should say rather, the final say outside of Type-Moon's copyrights) in the direction it takes as a game assuming FrenchBread says it's possible to code.
That's Hare though, not Hagi. Hagi has a cool jacket.

Actually this is one of the best ideas I've heard in a while, I'd definitely be down but how would those who are seriously going to order it organize things is the biggest question & how/who would have the $. Oh yeah, would it go to an individuals' house or scattered once in the U.S.A.

I think it makes the most sense to do it by region. For example, figure out everyone in NY/NJ/PA/CT/MA who wants in. Pick someone trustworthy to handle the cash money. Someone like Ehrik comes to mind. And then just divide up the total cost and use Paypal to give him the money.
Nice thing about doing it by region would be that you could have an event after it ships and everyone can just pick one up rather than going through the trouble of reshipping it.
But I guess it really depends on how much the shipping actually is though. It may not be worth the hassle.
It may make more sense to do smaller groups... like me, Pincher, Chibi, and Zaelar for example. (Bergen County Represent! :toot:)

christ chibi if you really don't want the anime I'll buy the blu ray anime off you so I have two copies of the bloody anime :| (And secretly fap over it over and over again). you could always sell the anime only part on ebay too, I'm sure people would gobble that shit up, and you might even make a profit!

Does'nt the extra price of Carnival Phantasm pays all the time earlier you'll play the game? It will probably be 2 monthes, 3 or even more. If you say it's worth 1$ a day, the price of Carnival Phantasm is totally worth it.. Also, will you miss the very beggining of MBCC 1.07?? For like... Why are people arguing whether it's worth it to buy the CP set in order to get MBCC or not? If you think it's worth it to pay extra to get it earlier, then do that. If you don't think so, then hold off until it's confirmed whether or not there will be an option to get just MBCC.

I purchased my MBAA from Mr. Wizard so IDK if that counts but that's the only thing I have from them so I'm good but they release products I'm satisfied with so I'll support them too. Also I'll probably be selling the anime part as well since I really don't care about it TBH.

Anyway, getting to the important part: since there is almost no chance of a stateside release (and if it happens it won't be for a while) and the built-in netplay won't be accessible without paying $100+, there is no chance of having an actual US scene without caster. Sorry, the small handful of people that will go out and buy the game are not going to constitute a scene.

It was shipping expenses so he says, but I payed $25 & got it the same week so I'm not complaining. It was bubble wrapped & all that so I can kinda see why it came up that much & he himself said that he was not allowed to charge for it so it was all shipping & handling basically.

I'm also pretty sure this will happpen, as it has with every previous edition of the game. So, I think everyone arguing about not wanting to buy Carnival Phantasm is also getting in over there head a bit.
Anyway, I think the thread is derailing a bit. Maybe you guys should move discussion about accessing the game to the old Current Code thread or make a new one (about accessing the game)
Also, regarding "group buying" copies of the game to not deal with shipping, me and Kamina toyed around in the past of getting more financial backing for Mbread/Melty International (an MB Bank account, basically). Something like, collecting 10% off every tournament pot and putting it into a paypal account for things like bringing foreign players out, funding active projects for promoting and advertising the gamee, among other things. In the end though one person has to be in control of that paypal account and we're not sure of anyone that has enough clout with the entire community to be trusted with the money and/or would actually be willing to do something with the money. It would also bring up questions like "who decides how to spend the money" and not to mention if one incident of embezzlement or disappearing money happens EVEN ONCE, the whole thing is done.
So I think small financial adventures between groups is a good idea. Try to pool money to go out and buy materials for advertising the game or get yourselves in areas with lot so fighting gamers and or type moon fans with the game, or group buy stuff like the game, or donate to players on your own. We were just thinking it'd be nice if we had a way everyone could pitch in without even really realizing it.
Unless anyone really thinks that's seriously a good idea?
