The community of MB players in Brazil decided this was a good year(?) to organize a tourney. So, we're holding a MBAA tournament in São Paulo next Saturday, streamed and everything.

I know what you might be thinking: a chance to witness people I never heard of playing MB!!! And yes, you'd be absolutely right, aside from me, Cristu, ShinShom and Azura, whom you may or may not know of and may or may not be attending (money and time issues involved).

The stream should start at 2 pm (gmt-3) and the main competition at 4 pm, but fair warning, commentary is gonna be in portuguese. Despite that, those of you who are spanish literate might understand about 60% of what's going on as they are similar, and if someone in the chat shoots a question in english, chance is there WILL be someone there who might answer it. Dont count on it tho.

'Be posting the stream link sometime between now and then.

Hope I can go to the tournament. I expect to be in good standing (and, who knows, winning), for training so much MBAA.

Gonna try and make an overall analysis. Just so you know, X Revolution was the name of the place we rented, kind of a LAN House slash gamecenter.

The tourney had 11 inscriptions for singles, with a few more people coming to watch or just freeplay some. On average, about 20 people in the room over tournament time. We were late on setting things up, so the stream and the competition started almost 1h later than schedule.

The people on the organization as you may guess got to know each other over MBAC netplay, so, there were a lot who wanted but couldnt attend (as I said, money and time issues) and also many that were not really familiar with the game overall, be it new players or regulars who just had no one to play MBAA with. That led to improvised Crescent versions and coping with keyboard/stick-to-pad transitions, and I can say those were the biggest drawbacks for the tourney, although I'm genuinely happy with how things turned out, and I think everyone who were there would say the same. It was hell of fun.

With that many players, we decided to run the whole tournament in the stream TV, which worked out fine but took a good amount of time. By the time it was finished, some players decided to go home, leaving only 4 teams in the doubles tournament, but we did it anyway.

Other than that, since we had the house till 6am, we kept freeplaying until we could not focus anymore, and then we played some more, there was also some MvC3, SFIV and even AH3 after everything was over.

The MB footage is all on stream, and I'm working on some time stamps, if anyone's interested let me know and I'll post here.
