9/22 SJSU Melty Blood Tournament "73cm Cup"
« on: September 11, 2007, 10:42:05 PM »
So, we are eleven days out from the 22nd and I've heard absolutely no talk about the San Jose Tourney that is supposedly planned. Given that were so close to the tourney date, even though I'm not planning it (To my knowledge at least :V) I have decided to get our tourney thread going to breathe life into this topic.

So anyone who knows what's going on with this throw down some hard info if you will. Also it wouldn't hurt if everyone planning to go chimed in so we can get a feel for how many people are still planning to attend.

Update: Stuff confirmed. See you all here on the 22nd. If you need directions or something, say so.

SJSU Melty Blood ver.B Tournament "73cm Cup"
Time: Signups and casuals are from noon to 4:30PM with the tournament beginning shortly after.
Place: SJSU Bowling Center
Fee: $5 Entry Fee
Prize: 70/20/10 Split
Rules: Double elimination, best 2 out of 3. Finals are best 3 out of 5. Loser may choose new character. Characters are not locked from match to match.
Additional: Keyboard is allowed. Pad and stick w/ adapter is recommended. Especially a really sexy looking custom stick with Akiha on it. All replays must be saved. We will have 2-4+ stations running. Commentary will be attempted for at least the top 8 but it will probably fail disastrously.

I'll do commentary, out of all the people there I have a good grasp of the game and I know I won't make finals probably, or even show up on time for prelims lol. (Maybe Alt can do it but he'll probably be in finals hehe)

I like this title.
<Graven> When you are Ciel, don't try to win, don't even try to do anything. The more you do, the stupider and bigger faggot you become because you're using Ciel.
<WyvernLord> roku is faking his disappearance so melty bread can come out and try to convince him of his value to the community

I'll try to make it. Gunning for a position @ work and it's possible a situation will arise where if I don't work that weekend I probably won't get the job so fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff fwhatever.

Some people from the Sac group will definately be there. So far, it's me, Idolo, and our friends Varn and Tony that's a for sure. I've contacted some other people concerning this but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I'm really looking forward to this tournament. Last time we met, me and Idolo couldn't even participate in the tourney!
Idolo: "Bitch, get in your corner!"
Blaze: "What!? You're sitting there throwin pots!"
Idolo: "Shiiit, practice your shielding or somethin..."
Blaze: "FUCK YOU!!!"

No, no character locks unless you win. eg: you can't beat someone and then change characters for the next round.

Some more fairly important information:

Signups and casuals are from noon to 4:30PM.
We will have 3-4 setups running MBAC.

The rest of the rules are in my first post.

Of course! Melty Blood is always worth losing your job, killing your best friend, breaking three laws and losing everything but the cloths on your back and a stick you stole from a 14 year old that's held together with ducktape.

On a lighter note, I'm really looking forward to seeing how much my practice has paid off. I wasn't to happy with my performance during the last tourney so hopefully I can step it up this time around. :V

The casuals will be more helpful than the tourney in terms of gaining exp IMO.
