the only one coming up I can think of would be Veterans day, but some don't get that off

or Thanksgiving weekend

Columbus Day in October isn't really observed in a fashion where people get days off

The problem with Veteran's Day, is that it falls on a Tuesday, right in the middle of the week. So the weekend before it is not a 3-day weekend which can be inconvenient.

I have my doubts if people can make that date due to wanting to be other places on New Year's Eve. Also the cost of travel around that time will be ridiculous.
