THE GAZEBO is the gray box at the northern most part of the park (bayard & mulberry).
There will also be an Akatsuki Blitztwooo tournament.(run by Rithli)
$5 entree fee -- $25 removed for venue fees, rest as prize.
Double elimination.
Single game matches.
Possible second/third place prizes depending on turnout.
BYOC - Controller must be usable without installation of programs/drivers and can't control your opponent.
Hardware macros and turbo functions are not allowed.
Coin-flip for side, loser picks stage(or winner may pick stage and tell loser to pick side).
If no flip the stage must be agreed on by both players or random.
Double-blind character selection on request.
Bracket will be set to separate players by region.
If someone can provide a second setup I'll cover your entree fee. Setup must have correct aspect ratio, 2 usb ports, and no slowdown. A third may be used if turnout is large enough. Excess setups may be brought for casuals, but won't get free entree.
Players may not demand a setup to use if there is more than one available. If you have concerns about a setup being playable for tournament matches tell me asap and I will test it personally along with input from other players.
Please keep the profanity to a minimum(which is none), and the area clean.
Remember you MUST keep the area clean (says so on the permit) and try to keep profanities downnn (out of respect to the proprietors who loaned us the area). Also, there may actually be some columnists/journalists present- be ready to REPRESENT USMB and the fighting gaming culture (think of some possible q&a's so you dont look stupid lol but hey, thats on you.)
Expect me to be at CF by 1pm and we can try to set up some casuals before parting to the HYPE MACHINES. At about 2:30pm well will break out and head to the park (by the vendors) to discuss rules and collect venue and tournament entry fees. (Since i chose not to state that fees will be collected when I applied for the reservation we will have to keep this on the low :x ).

Good shit, Zaelar. Thanks for being prompt with starting the thread as you said you would.
As for the event being held at the pavilion, this is 100% confirmed. I just received the permit in the mail with all of the info attached. Still some things I need to question the manager about like: BEING ABLE TO USE TABLES AND CHAIRS (wtf). Also the issue on whether will will have a power supply or not (they keep avoiding me on this). I wont go into too much detail about the permit but I will keep you all updated when I get some goddamn answers.
As Zaelar mentioned, profanity lvls at 0 cus we will be setting up at a public location that was provided by the city. this is a lot different from just doing our own thing by the vending machines as we will be, in some sense, representing their services. Keep in mind that this is also a public event and random people who are not entering/participating in the event must be allowed to spectate (says so on the permit). Simply put: profanity = likelihood of us seeing another bbg IN the actual GAZEBO. . .zero.

If youre still doing that thing w/ the hotel please make all info avail for those interested in this thread. There will be a few out of towners attending and I know they would like to get down on that offer.

We need dat extra hype since the Snapple Machine wont be present to provide us with dat hype juice. Do it for Snapple!

Here is the final ruling on my place for this weekend.
Anyone who is coming in from out of state and does not have an easy pathway home is welcome to stay with me. Examples are Brandino/Nas/Baod/Sphyra/LK/Hyperhal/Jiyuna
Anyone who can get home easily (if you can go to port authority and then jump on a bus and easily be home within an hour or you can just take the subway home this means you) needs to go the hell home after the event is over to leave space for the people coming from out of state/OUT OF THE COUNTRY (lol Canada). Don't make me have to be the bad guy, plan ahead of time to go home when the event is over.
The only exception is Saiyd, because he is coming to my house for reasons unrelated to this event. Anyone else get on that train and go the hell home.

Yea I'll bring mine. I'll also bring a tournament bracket creator in case you guys are tired of doing bracketology via www.darters.com or some other format :V
Otherwise, I just hope we have a good crowd. I'll be there a little early in case people want to play some MAME/Akatsuki/SNK games/ :psyduck:/ :prinny:/ :blah:/etc.

The one convertor I had that didn't need any plugins installed for died but I got you covered on the power strip.

I have THE GAZEBO reserved from 3pm-8pm. I'm thinking about using an hr of that time for casuals (3pm-4pm). If we can get 2 more laptops that meet the requirements that Zaelar has specified, then it should be no problem to have the tournament completed by 8pm.

Ok according to a few folks in #Arcana, Henry is actually setting up SF4 right now.
And I mean right now.
This pretty much guarantees the arcade will absolutely SWAMPED AS FUCK this weekend, so it's a fair warning as to whether or not people will get casuals going at CF, especially considering we don't know where SF4 is being set up at the moment.

So CF has SF4, which means casuals at CF will probably not happen. I think it's best we gather people at CF first then head over to the vending machines for casuals before we actually head up to the gaezbo.

Notes: We (Zaelar, myself, Zar, maybe Spooky) will be at Chinatown Fair around Noon. We will stay there for an hour and then head over to the HYPE MACHINES (aka vending machines) where we will be running casuals until 2:30 pm. Then we'll pack up and head on over to the GAZEBO.
SIGNS UP WILL RUN FROM 3-4pm, and ARE $5. Please note I WILL BE TAKING SIGN UPS AND MONEY THE ENTIRE DAY UNTIL 4PM. NO MONEY WILL BE TAKEN AT THE GAZEBO, it's seen as gambling..
IF YOU DO NOT SIGN UP BEFORE 4PM, AND YOU COME IN WHILE THE TOURNAMENT IS STARTING OR HAS ALREADY GOTTEN UNDERWAY YOU ARE NOT GETTING IN, NO MATTER WHERE YOU CAME FROM. Noone cares if you want to masturbate all over SF4 and then realized you got distracted, absolutely zero tolerance on the matter.
It's advised that you eat sometime before 4PM. If you want to eat during the tournament, wait until you're not playing and not on deck, and even then its regulated to a snack. We've only got 5 hours to work with in the gazebo, so PLEASE DONT GO ANYWHERE guys.
I know that sounds like a bunch of strict crap, but it's needed. You'll get hype and enjoy it once we start rolling.

MB on your laptop must run at 59-60fps. NO EXCEPTIONS (drops to 58fps is significant enough to hinder performance). Also I will ask for Zaelar's assistance to assist you on setting up a shortcut folder for the reps on your desktop for quick access to temprep folders (for the asses that 'forget' to save reps).
VERY IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
Timing is of the essence. Since we are attempting to complete this event in roughly 4 hrs, I must ask cooperation from ALL ENTRIES.
1) If you're NOT ELIMINATED from the tourney (you DID NOT lose twice), you are to remain on gazebo grounds for you next match
2) Bathrooms are located DIRECTLY BELOW the gazebo and should you have to make that trip, it would be in your best interests to notify Zaelar (or myself if Zaelar is engaged in gameplay) so you dont get dq'd.
3) 2 MIN WARNING!! your name will be called for you to arrive ON DECK. This means you will be waiting at a station which is currently holding a match. When that match you finishes, you will then step up to the station for your matches. Once on deck, you are not allowed to leave for any reason in which the result will be disqualification. Not being present on deck in the two min time frame will result in dq/match forfeit. Your best bet is to just STICK AROUND.
4) People need to seriously EAT A BIG ASS MEAL before the start of the event. If you arrive in Chinatown early, I suggest your check out the area to get a good idea of what stores you can run to for a snack after you finish your match.
5) First match will take place at 4pm on the dot. Brackets will be locked at that point and no further entries will be admitted. People ON DECK will be expected to be at the station they were assigned to.
Well, thats all i have to say about that. Rules will be reiterated at the briefing by the vending machines at 2:30pm and Spooky the Official Gazebo Nazi will be there to enforce them. Zaelar the Executioner will take axe-tion (get it?!) when the tourney begins if need be. Chibi the Jester will be taking your names & monies (and he'll do a jig for you if you ask nicely :prinny:)
