The main event is going to have $5 entree fee.
Side events(if we have time and setups) will likely be $1 or $2.(blitz anyone?)
Format will be determined by the number of available setups and number of entrees.
Usual rules:
BYOC - Controller must be usable without installation of programs/drivers and can't control your opponent.
Hardware macros and turbo functions are not allowed.
Coin-flip for side, loser picks stage(or winner may pick stage and tell loser to pick side).
If no flip the stage must be agreed on by both players or random.
Double-blind character selection on request.
Please keep the profanity to a minimum(which is none), and the area clean.

If all goes well, A projector will be provided for this event for the top4 (possibly top 8 ) of BBG8. A gentleman by the name of "Jerry" was thoroughly entertained at the last event and decided he would like to donate his projector for the next event (bbg8). Once the date for BBG8 has been finalized Chibi and I will contact him and we'll run the info back to the forums about what he says.
BBG8 can possibly outdo its predecessor with this serious hype upgrade. I dont think this has ever been done for any fighter at a non-major, hole-in-the-wall local event. Good luck to those that get to place top8/top4 - I'm sure it would be quite an honor to be part of a somewhat huge leap in USMB history.

I have yet to get a reply from the city in regards to gaining a permit for the gazebo.
However, no matter what we will be holding a tournament on the 11th. If we do not have a permit by then, it's infront of the vending machines once more. If we do, it's at the gazebo.
Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause, but this isn't going anywhere near as smoothly as it did for Zar.

In other news, I got the permit today, but it's not pretty.
1. The date is still for the 14th, which is a Tuesday.
2. The hours reserved are for 3pm to 6pm, when I asked for 3pm to 9pm.
I can't call them at the moment (office hours are 9-5), I'll have to do it during lunch tomorrow.

i'm not too optimistic about sun hotel being available having shopped around
it doesn't look like anything inhabitable that isn't a hostel remains unbooked at this point, especially at such a reasonable price
maybe because it's a pain to book online it might have space
otherwise probably only if it's either ridiculously shitty or a hostel
i'm checking on a different hotel called new world hotel which is on bowery-apparently walking distance from chinatown
the only other affordable lodging that remains unbooked is hostels on west side; these are numerous and you can book a quad for 100$ easily- considering it's a hostel i don't know if it would be easy to sneak people in or not- i don't know how long the subway ride would take to this area but one hostel says it's a 10 minute subway ride to madison square garden
anyway, i'm waiting on email from new world hotel which looks like a relatively cheap hotel and is close to location- i don't highly expect it to have space but it's not a hotel that can be booked instantly online so there is some hope
as for whether or not to get a second room- if you don't book it, i intend to, wherever it ends up being (of course still easiest if you could just get two at sun)
would be ideal ofc if we were in the same hotel so we'll see how things work out
there's always the option of the west side hostels
and of course wandering until we meet some girls and staying at their places- we can charm them with our gaming skill and knowledge of 4chan memes

One of two things will happen next Saturday:
If CF does not get MBAA by Saturday (and that includes Saturday itself) then this tournament will go along as planned.
If CF does get MBAA before or on Saturday this tournament is cancelled as we will be directly feeding our wallets into the damn machine and proving to Henry that this is a much more viable option then fucking Arcana Heart ever was.
So guys, show up on Saturday, it'll be a good time no matter what goes down.
I'll keep you updated otherwise in regards to the Gazebo.

UPDATES: CF is supposed to get in MBAA either on the 10th or 14th. We'll see what happens, but as of now it looks like we're having the tournament infront of the vending machines because the city hasn't gotten back to me, and I don't think with three days left that I want to leave you all hanging on a last minute deal.
Again, this is all under the assumption that MBAA doesn't get there this weekend.

Maybe I'm missing something, but don't we still got NEC9 to go till we can go off saying a farewell to MBAC? Unless we're gonna have a MBAA Theory Fighter edition tournament at NEC9 :-\ The way things are looking now we (the people who are going to NEC who lives in the middle of nowhere and/or don't live near arcades that are getting MBAA) are not gonna be playing MBAA before NEC9.

I don't see one valid reason as to why you didn't attend.
You created the damn series of tournaments, held seven of them in a row, and with the last hurrah you simply decide not to show up?
Why? Don't tell me you didn't enjoy the past seven tournaments, that'd be a lie.
Don't tell me you weren't surprised by the people that ended up attending, because that'd also be a lie.
It helped create a community in NYC with plenty of new faces.
All in all it was a resounding success.
So even when you knew it was the last one, why wouldn't you show up? I can't even FATHOM what you did on Saturday that would have been more enjoyable and a better outing, I really can't.
And fuck, I may be the loudest guy in the community, but you'll be hard pressed to find someone who thinks I don't love this game to death.

This is just a local thing, I'll still be hype for MBAC at NEC9, and I'll practice up for it as well, but 'when' CF gets MBAA in, MBAC is effectively dead to our local community.
