So yeah, figured I'd give this another shot since this might be the best way to get people back. I think I tried to do this last year but probably gave up because of the lack of interest. However, it seems that the next "big" tourney for melty is gonna be at EVO and thats a long way away from now.
I definitely want a mid-Spring BBG. I've been talking about starting one up for a while, and obtaining the permit and getting a setup down there provided the NY-locals can help out. Since I'll be going to Japan this summer, I definitely wanted to do one more of these before I left.
The glorious thing about BBG is it holds a special place for everyone in the community and Melty Blood is the main event (and often times the only event). Outside of it being a huge bitch to setup, it's pretty much the most fun thing ever. Ever.
If you want to do this Fox, I'll help out in every way I possibly can. Though funds are always limited, I'd find a way to make sure everything happens if everyone can chip in their own part.
Who do we need to talk to in order to get a permit? We should probably interest check some dates. Early-mid April sound pretty good for me. It gives everyone some time to get ready/get up money/make travel plans, and is still a month away from early-mid May when finals for students occur.
Alternatively we could do something late may (really early in the summer vacation for students) and generate hype for two months straight.
