"Since DM has closed it's doors it's time for us as a community to find another worthy spot and I say it should be BattleGrounds in Vernon CT. I have talked to mike and he is willing to hold fight nights starting Friday Dec. 11th and every Friday after that. He has told me he is going to make flyers for these events and is making those flyers for us free of charge. Let's make BattleGrounds the next big fighting club in CT!

Games that will be there include Melty Blood Actress Again (We need more modded systems and games however, there's only 1 set), Battle Fantasia, Fate/Unlimited Codes, Guilty Gear AC, HnK, SWR/UNL/IamP, Sengoku Basara X, SF4, DoA4 and Tekken 6.
There will also be a small tournament each week for a chosen game (like Melty Blood) with a $1-$2 entry fee. We hope you can make it!(From meltybread.com and originally from Fraga)

It's indeed a bit harder than stick. Your best bet is to get 2 alts to learn so you get more of a feel for the system while you wait

I'm reasonably sure the world doesn't want us to have our Garou matches, Kona. xD Unless anybody can give me a ride on short notice? I can help pay for gas... Also, I got this idea of one my friends from SRK. How would you guys feel about doing weekly ranbats? The ranbats would be a dollar and at the end of the month, we put it to 5 dollars to end the ranbats for the month. What do you guys think? They wanna do that with Street Fighter 4, you think we should do that Melty?

I was talking to Pang about that actually. I would love to do it, but we need more people. I'd say 15 at least. Last tournament we had 9-10, and Pang won't be back till Summer. If we can get the people I'd gladly run a Ranbat-esque thing for MBAA. I was talking to Gonz about doing it for SF4 as well.

Gladly! We do need more setups, we have about 2-3 now, and another TV would be swell. It starts at 5:00pm but people usually show up around 8-9pm. It ends usually around 1-5am. Venue fee is $5, tournaments are $1 ($2 for teams, $1 per person). We'll start a ranbat-esque points system when we have around 15-20 people.

Tournament fees should be increased, imo. $2 or $3 would be much more satisfactory.

I can increase the entry fee, the problem is the newer people. They'll either:
A) Play MBAA for $2-3 for a game not well known yet
or
B) Play SF4/T6/SC4 for $1 and they're commonly played
Seeing how they'll normally go for B, I decided to start low. Because sooner or later I will increase admission once we get more people into the game and it becomes more familiar to our participants. Feel free to post suggestions on Entry fee. More input the better

We normally do casuals up until the tournament, SF4 runs first then MBAA (Though we're discussing tournament timing on Dustloop) so we have a long time for casuals. Unless some freak accident happens with the brackets or with a tournament casuals take up most of the time. Last Friday being one of those exceptions

Good time last night! The very first RANBAT for MBAA was last night! I thought we were doing all Ranbats separately but we decided to do them all at once. We also had some fun Fate/Unlimited Codes matches beforehand, hopefully we can get some more casuals next time! I proved not to screw with Berserker!
Now let me explain how the Points work. The Winner gets 10 Points, 2nd Place receives 7 Points, 3rd gets 5 Points, 4th gets 3 Points, and 5th each get 1 point. Until we create a date where we'll have a Major ranking battle every point counts.

I need to let everybody know what Fro(a BG employee) and I have talked about. They have a strict policy on bringing outside drinks into the lan center. People have been doing it and it's hurting BG in the business sence and I would like to ask everybody to not bring in any energy drinks or 20oz bottles of soda. They said it's ok to bring in drinks from BK or other fast food restuants but not tonic's that you could get at BG. I am asking everybody to please follow these rules because they are really hurting as a business and as you know we are running out of venue's to go to and I don't want to be in the position where we have no place to go. The owner of BG works at Pepsi just to keep the lan center open so let's not let all his work go in vain. If you want to bring drinks please just leave it in the car and go outside and drink it. If you see someone bring an outside drink just let them know to take it outside or just let Fro know about it. I really don't want to see this place close down because of something we could of changed so easily. I will be putting this up on the other thread's so everybody know's what's going on.

I have a question, how would you guys feel if I started a Livestream? The stream would consist of several games, Melty included, and I'd go over basic stuff about it? That way people can get an idea for how to play certain characters. The only downside would be that I would have other friends on and you'd have to be respectful of them. That way when we have BG's Youtube open up and running (WHEN it decides to be up and running) you can get matches from there and help on the Livestream.

This Friday we'll be doing 2v2 Teams for MBAA, we can do Random or Preset Teams. So get practicing gents!
In others news, I finally have the Capture Card and I learned how to use it! Matches will FINALLY be going online!
