Boston MB Gathering, 1/23/10

MB scene of Boston is holding casuals on Saturday, January 23 at dj_de's place on Malboro St. in Malden, Massachusetts. (PM for the address if you plan on going.) The day is set aside for just casuals and hanging out, though we could run a *small* tournament if the turnout is good. We're gonna get to dj's place any time after noon. Any setups, TVs, recording devices and players are welcome! Directions to Malboro St. are below:

Directions
Ride the Orange Line to one of these two destinations:
ryUuZaKi 6671 (10:32:30 PM): COMING FROM MALDEN STATION/108 BUS
- After getting off the bus, walk down Maplewood Street towards Eastern Ave
- After reaching Eastern Ave/Maplewood Street intersection (A Papa Gino's should be on your left), cross the street and head left
- Marlboro Street is the second street on the right, right after the law office

COMING FROM SULLIVAN SQ/109 BUS
- After getting off the bus near, cross the street and head down Sheafe Street
- Keep walking and turn left on Kennard Street
- Turn right onto Marlboro Street

I told dj on SRK, but there's a small SF4 tournament in Allston that day that some people might be at. I'll come up to Malden after it though, I've been to tournaments at ATB before and they run pretty quickly.

I don't think there are passenger trains that go from the Springfield area to Boston.

It would be nice to have the western part come over.  You still have about a week to somehow find a ride so good luck with that.

If people can let me know sometime between today and tomorrow to like 99% confirm they are coming let me know on AIM or something. I'd like to figure out how many people are actually coming to see if we need to have a 3rd setup somewhere. I also wouldn't mind getting some soda/snacks if people WANT them and wouldn't mind putting in like a dollar or 2 for them. It might as be useful if people got my number at least so I can help them if they get lost or something

FOR PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE TAKING THE MBTA
If you know exactly when you're going to be coming it be a good idea to do a MBTA trip planner just to make sure you know what bus you can be getting on around that time. I've noticed at certain times at Malden Station it will tell you to get on the 108 bus and at others the 411 bus. Both lead to the same Salem St. & Maplewood St. stop so it's just a matter of keeping track of what number to look for. From Sullivan Sq you're still waiting for the 109 bus either way to Eastern Ave & Broadway.

Good shit to everyone that made it today. Chilling with everyone was fun, and games were mad hype. Today was the largest turnout for our Boston/Eastern Mass casuals, and I'm glad to see improvement! Keep practicing and being a part of the community!

Yeah it was pretty dope...although I need to practice more with Aoko.  For next practice if you guys want, we could do it at my crib a little small, but not a big deal.
