anyone attend Evo 2k9 this year?
Its in Las Vegas at the Rio Hotel and Casino from July 17 to July 19.
Last year is when i first play MBAC nd i was wonderin if anyone who came last year is coming again to play casuals like last year.
Maybe hav a small side tournament or sumthin.

It will be less hype because it'll be just before MBAA comes out to console, but there will still be casuals, no doubt.
As par for me, I'll have rooms open for people to stay in. I'm not in the fucking mansion anymore, but I still have 2 couches, a sofa chair, and a guest bedroom with plenty of space. I will have a car by this time as well so ferrying people around won't be as much of a fucking chore as it was the past two years. Also, I now live closer to the strip than before, though it's still a little drive, like 15-20min or so.

Yeah. Sadly, I'm not really hyped about anything at Evo this year either. I'm always down for company though, so toss out a heads up if you're coming this year.
I'm gonna make all you fools play Dokapon Kingdom with me. lol. That shit is a game to get hype about!
Oh, and I still have to keep my promise to mahjong coast and play with them (if any are coming down).

Lol, yeah. It kinda threw a wrench into the whole plan when the Hooters thing fell through. I ended up eating at that damn cafe every night at Evo, I think. But yeah, it was fun hanging out in your room that night. I need to start throwing events here in vegas for people to come to. I'll call it...Dinner and a Loli! You know, even though that was just a joke, I actually would hold events here if I knew I'd get a turnout.
Oh, and on the subject of BlazBlue, it's not that I'm not interested in it. I just don't have any arcades with it in vegas, nor do I have a current gen console to play the port when it drops. So pretty much I wouldn't have the chance to play it at all. Also I have a hard time sticking to fighters (that aren't based on Tsukihime, lol) for long periods of time.

Okay so...since this is like a month away, anyone going to want to stay at my place? I've only had one person seriously express interest so far.
We'll have to ferry back and forth for the event, which is about a 10-15min drive, but the housing is free. I actually have a working car now, so getting back and forth won't really be a problem. If you're interested, even just as a maybe, let me know at least somewhat in advance.

Sweet deal. It was a blast the last time when you guys chilled at my place, even if the next morning was hell on Bell for having to drive everyone to the airport on like an hour of sleep. lol. Maybe I'll actually play Blitz this time around, instead of just being an observer.

I'll be going to Evo/America next month mainly for Smash (inb4 being laughed at. ;_; ), but I really want to use the chance to play some Melty and meet some "real" Melty Blood players while I'm there, so crashing with some of you guys during Evo seems like a pretty good opportunity for that. :3
If you're uncomfortable with it, I understand; in that case I'll just have to hunt down the Melty corner and play everyone. xP

I don't have a problem with you staying, but if space issues come up because of too many people, you'll prolly be the first to get a message from me saying you can't stay. I don't really anticipate that happening, but it's something I need to lay on the table early. Other than space issues, it's no problem. It'd be nice to see you get more active on here so I can get to know you a little before Evo though.

It's not an issue right now. I was just being honest that if it became an issue, I'd rather give the spot to people I know. But as of right now, it doesn't look like there will be space issues unless a good few more people suddenly show up asking to room here.

Definitely. Right now I have like 3 people going to be staying with me for certain and 1 maybe besides you, so even with everyone staying here, there should be enough sleeping room for everyone. If five or more people do end up staying though, I won't be able to fit everyone in my car when going back and forth to the Rio, but a friend of mine who will be going to Evo this year should be able to help me with giving rides if there's that many people here. I could always borrow my mom's van too.
So yeah, just keep me updated and let me know if you'll be staying or not.

Breaker's Revenge, Fatal Fury Special, FHD, KoF 95-98, 2k, 2k2, RB2, RBS, SF2 series (WW-HSF), Every SF2 CE hack, SFA 1-3, Vampire Savior, World Heroes Perfect, and Goal Goal Goal. I will probably also add Windjammers too.
If anyone has any requests tell me.
Also if I stay at Lolisauce's and have ingredients, I'm willing to make dinner and shit if he doesn't mind.

Yep same number. Heh, my dad taught me all the cooking he knows (including the Japanese stuff) but I'm not very good at the japanese cooking. Also Chibi it's still up in the air.

EFZ, IaMP, and ABK are the best of the doujin world. Fuuka Taisen is okay, but it didn't really hold me when I played it. *shrugs* I've never played Vanguard Princess or AoS though, so I'm interested in checking em out.

anyone staying at the Rio itself? Looking to hit up a few casuals outside the main Evo room at whatever we have available (aka BlazBlue, SFIV, Melty and whatever else we have on PS3/PC). While the main Evo room is cool and all, I kinda prefer a more laid back setting than the competitive tournament room.
