@ Kusanagi: I'll help anyway I can to bring you to EVO. I already have it reserved and if necessary, we'll bring some roomies altogether.
After vacation time, a new computer, a new 47'' LCD screen to watch TV on, I managed to see what people were saying about voting for Melty for Evo. This is something we all have to support, not just a few of us who play it hardcore and out of the blue. Even me, a gamer who doesn't even play the game, but have been inviting the first 3 people to start playing it @ my home- Zar, Akuma, and Duckman, right when the first MB came out for PC- have supported this community no matter the sacrifices needed. Look where it is now. Look how far we've all made it with Melty: throught thick and thin we've seen the good and bad of it, but we
still play for many reasons so long as we have other people who enjoy it as much as ourselves.
FYI: I've already casted my vote for Melty via SRK.com. Seeing that there has been lots of comments about many things, including trolls, not having Melty in EVO, etc. my idea about having the Ranbats have been given both highs and lows from the community. Whether it was for the better or worse, it's all about having the
community stronger as is. The reason why I brought it up my idea was to wake people up and realize that in the long run, this can bring more people to a game we've adored for a long time, but hasn't been selected in the one and only national event: EVO2k10. What we need, in terms of community strength, is to let people
know in Melty tournies/casuals/meetups/etc. around the world, that we are asking for everybody's support so we can see MBAA back in Las Vegas.
Why I brought the ranbat idea early? Because, that way once people from the outside of the gaming world can understand the angle we are going through from then
until now. Even those who are INSIDE of the gaming world that know our position we're in can spread the word even faster. People will also realize that since our game was not selected for Evolution 2010, we have to work even at least 3 TIMES AS HARD as we did the last several years just to have one of the most hype-tastic games back to the Sin City. Sure, people can vote for it via SRK.com- that's a given. Showing this game to others gives the benefit of people being curious about it, the situation it's in, and keeps people hungry for more down the line. Hence, the more we show our support to the game, the stronger the attention it will bring others to it.
(Consider this just like the analogy of food-if you were to bring a great food chain, introduce it somewhere at any town adjacent to a big city, chances are people from that city will hear word of it and will plan to come down just for a sample, if not something bigger. Hundreds of people will spread the word, have it advertised
in a magazine, tell people where it came from, and it'll spread just like wildfire. Want a good example of this? Papa John's.)
Sure, I missed the last one the previous year, and yes, I should have seen it. This year I don't intend of missing a damn thing...And you can kiss my converse..
SHO NUFF!
STAY TUNED!
