We are rebooting the tournaments for the Summer!
There is a new format that we will be implementing. Every tournament will start at 5pm, but won't happen each event. We will split up tournaments for Guilty Gear/BlazBlue and Arcana Heart/Melty Blood respectively.

The general format will go like so:
Week 1: Guilty Gear & BlazBlue, both at 5pm
Week 3: Arcana Heart & Melty Blood, both at 5pm
Week 5: Guilty Gear & BlazBlue, both at 5pm
Week 7: Arcana Heart & Melty Blood, both at 5pm
etc.

I will also be rebooting all stats. Now is the time to join in and prove that you're the best player! Or at least the best with your own character  :V
We will also be revamping all entry fees on all games, in order to yield bigger pots.

Lets get this scene rolling, get your friends, and get hype!

The tournament will be held on June 19th and will consist of:

Arcana Heart 3:
Starts at 5PM.
$5 to enter ($3 pot, $2 house)
Double Elimination Bracket
2/3 Matches
4:3 regular video mode. (No wide screen!)
Pot Split will be 75%/25% for <8 players; 70%/20%/10% for more.
Double Blind Character Selection available on request.
Winners must keep the same character, losers may couterpick.
Winners may change Arcana, but must do so before the losing player in order for them to counterpick.
This will be run on the PS3. Bring your own controllers!
If a button or stick problem occurs on your pad, stop playing and notify me immediately, even before your round is over. We will restart the round with a new stick. Abuses of this system will cause a forfeit of the match.

Melty Blood: Actress Again Current Code:
Starts at 5PM
$5 to enter, 50c pay to play on the arcade cabinet
Double Elimination Bracket

Double Blind Character Selection available on request.
Winners must keep the same character, losers may couterpick.
Winners may change Moon-type, but must do so before the losing player in order for them to counterpick.
If a button or stick problem occurs on the arcade cabinet, stop playing and notify me immediately, even before your round is over. I will fix the problem, and we will restart the round.

Guilty Gear was pretty epic as always. We had a much bigger turnout for Arcana Heart 3 than I was expecting. It was also great to see everyone so into Vampire Savior.

It's a shame that we didn't have enough people for Melty Blood. I really want to see the game take off  :psyduck:

Let's all get hype for the next one on Febraury 20th!

So I was thinking about a reformat of our tournaments. Let me know what you guys think:

We run tournaments every other week, but the games change. All games would start at 5pm.

Example:
Week 1: Guilty Gear & BlazBlue
Week 3: Arcana Heart & Melty Blood
Week 5: Guilty Gear & BlazBlue
Week 7: Arcana Heart & Melty Blood
etc.

I think that having tournaments for each game less frequently, and at the better time of 5pm, would help attendance for each game.

With fewer games per tournament, it would be less costly for those players who enter everything. And for those players who only enter one or two games, it would be cheaper as well, since you'd only be entering those tournaments once every 4 weeks.

Because of this potential increase in attendance, as well as the tournaments being less costly, we could feasibly up the price on the tournaments, which would yield bigger pots.

What I would consider for the new pricing would be:
Guilty Gear: $5 entry, plus putting quarters in the machine.
BlazBlue: $7 entry: $5 pot, $2 house
Arcana Heart: $5 entry: $3 pot, $2 house
Melty Blood: $5 entry, plus putting quarters in the machine.

Let me know what you guys think. This would not apply to MvC3. I might work something else out there, but the MvC3 tournaments are practically independent of these. The May 1st tournament will continue to go as planned, if we implemented these changes, they wouldn't start until May 15th.

I'd like to go, both for the BB tourneys and to finally be able to play MB against people for once, but I'd need to get a ride from someone else who's in/passing through Riverside if I wanna get there.
