The gaming club at my campus (Pomona, CA) is planning to host tournaments to raise funds for ASB. If enough people here are interested, I'll propose MBAC as an event. All equipment use w/ be free but a percentage of the pot would be given to ASB. If this happens, there are two scenarios for how the tournament will be conducted.
1) If we're allowed to use a lab:
* we'll have over 30 computers at our disposal for tourney and free play (yes, ACTUAL freeplay)
* projectors for displaying top 8 or other highlight matches
* we could potentially finish a tournament of major-level attendance in an hour (provided everyone has their own stick & adapter...and people don't keep disappearing...)
2) If we're restricted to using a classroom:
* we'll have roughly 6 computers to use...maybe more if i ask nicely or if people bring their own in
* projectors will still be available
* 32 plus people tourney might take a few hours
We can also wheel in TVs to run other tournaments simultaneously if people want.
So, time to test the water...who's interested?
