Heaven or Hell '12 - 14 & 15/07/12

The championship series ran by the brazilian Hitconfirm community (mostly known for the Guilty Gear video tutorial) is on its third install, and this year Melty is part of the roster. For those not familiar with it, the series started in '07 in a combined effort of many forum-driven communities, and comprised games from GG to 3s and even Tekken. Later, a few of those communities would join and form Hitconfirm. This time, the main games will be SF: 3rd Strike, Guilty Gear, Blazblue and Melty.

This is the biggest event for Melty in all year so far, and almost all of our heavy hitters have confirmed attendance. Plus, today we've just got confirmation that Lord Knight will be coming as well, so you'll get a chance to see one of america's finest against our locals in both Melty and Blazblue.

This is going to be big.  Is Shin going to show up, as well as that Akiha player you told me about when you were here? 

I hope LK is ready, because Brazil might body him when he shows up.  Just sayin'.

Shin doesn't know yet, but he is hella rusty in melty, hasn't really touched the game since MvC3 vanilla release =/ . Azura will definitely be there, I hope he's at his best by then. Others to look for are Cristu (F-Sion/C-Kohaku/H-Arc), iFaiska(F-VSion/C-WLen), M1kan(C-Sion/Catsuki/C-Arc), Arkhar(H/F-Len) and HellLion(C-Nanaya). Cristu is bent on playing the game of his life, so his FT10 with LK looks really promising.

I said it half joking, but it looks like I have a good chance to actually go to this.
The flights look good, with tons of open seats going there, and coming back, on all the dates I need. So I listed myself on standby. I'll continue to monitor availability over the next week to see if the numbers change drastically.

I can't wait for it. Playing with Lord Knight in the tournament will be like a dream come true... But don't expect great things from me.. I often lose decisive matches against strong people... While it also makes me more thirsty for win, it may be a problem I still have to fix.. I think I got over it though, so I'll try and do my best. I want to show LK, you guys and the other brazilian players who play other games that brazilian Melty Blood is strong. I always believed Melty Blood player level in the country is among the highest of all games here. Also I want LK to have a good competition to make him want to come back another time. People are practicing a lot this weekend. Also we're studying some points of his gameplay. We have some very strong players wanting to win here, so I think it will be really competitive.

Yep, but it's not good news. The flights returning to Dallas are now oversold from Saturday until Tuesday. There are also lots of other non-rev passengers trying to do what I'm doing.

So there went from being like 40-50 open seats per flight, to 0-5 per flight with lots of other standbys. But in most cases, flights are oversold, meaning they sold more tickets than there are seats on the plane.

So I would have no trouble getting there, but getting back out is now impossible. That's the way these things go sometimes.

Because I have an appointment about my knee surgery on Tuesday that I cannot miss, I don't want to get stuck in GRU until Wednesday.

Sorry, but I'm not going to make it after all.
