I'm a bit confused - what day are they doing MB? Or will it be going on both days?
The team tournament will be happening on Saturday, and the singles tournament will be happening on Sunday.
So this is going to be held at a hotel? I think I'll end up going, but likely only one day as it's a couple of hours away (seems wasteful to stay the night there but I don't think we can drive 4 times).
The tournament will be occurring at the Sheraton Suites hotel in Philadelphia, PA; it's right outside of the airport.
It's not that wasteful to stay the night, in my opinion -- you can usually split the cost with other people, and the room is only $90 per night. Furthermore, there is a lot of casual games and drinking to be had before and after the tournaments.
It's fine if someone who wants to watch just show up one of the days to see?
Speaking of which, I'm assuming people can come just to watch - much as I like MB and CvS2, I'd lose in the first round miserably. If you do come to watch and don't stay the night, are there any fees?
There is a $10 fee for non-players to enter. Beyond that, you are free to show up and do whatever. However, I do recommend playing if you have any interest in getting better, as the only real way to improve is to get some seat time against quality opponents, and there is no better time to do this than at an event like this.
Actually, I have changed my mind. I've decided that I'll get there Friday, before the first tournaments at the latest. What time do they start? I will stay at least two nights, but I'll be taking a bus there (Harrisburg to Philadelphia is fairly cheap, even for Greyhound). What time does it end? I'd prefer not to stay Sunday night (if I can help it), so it'd be nice if it didn't end too late (though I'd probably stay as late as I could).
When I said I'd watch the games, I didn't mean that I'd not play at all. If there's any casual games going on, then I'm definately interested in playing them (not just MBAA, but CvS2, SFVI, KOFXII). What I'm not sure I'd want to do is pay $20 to enter a tournament then be knocked out in two rounds in the first 5 minutes. I'm not rich, you know. Oh, and by bring your own stick/pad, it's fine if I were just to bring my dualshock 2? (I've got a Mayflash stick, but learning to play the stick is harder than learning to play MBAC/MBAA).
Lastly, are there any people interested in splitting the cost for a room? (or rooms, however they have that set up). About how many people would probably be able to fit together?
