I'm bringing my FreeMCBoot memory card, which by itself can mod your memory cards.

I'm leaving for Alabama in the next few minutes.

I'm bringing a fatty PS2 w/ HDLoader, PS2 pad, PS1 stick, small LCD TV (doesn't seem to lag), and a bunch of other good shit!

To answer Zar's questions:

Best two of three rounds constitutes a game. The loser of a game can elect to switch characters AND can also elect to switch sides as well. Stage select is handled the same way characters are -- if you can come to an agreement, fine. If not, then the stage will be randomly chosen.
Wow, side switch rule is unusual. As for stage select, I'm going to be an ass and just request random in my matches lol.

You still never got to me on the are macros (a+d, a+b+c, a+b, etc.) allowed issue.
zar are you even aware that your attitude is what drove people off in the first place. i think zar's attitude is worse than all of that. cause neither of you guys mean anything. but zar can poison shit around him. zar's the one that gets personal online and does realtalk that's out of line.

Whoever asks to have macros on this game is an r-tard and should have the bitch slapped out of him. Seriously.

I'm betting more than half the pad players use macros and if Dippy gives the word that macros are in fact not allowed I will be making many of them .

EDIT:

If anyone has PS2 R/F Switch could you please bring it along?

When was the last time button marcos were allowed at NEC? Unless eric changed the rule recently (which is something I can't find anything definitive on for this year), they are not allowed.

You want 'odd' rules? How about the payment schedule for the tournament (which is subject to change; depending on the final number of entrants -- this is assuming 80 people):

1st) 40%
2nd) 20%
3rd) 14%
4th) 9%
t5th) 5.5%
t7th) 3%

So, for example, if we have 80 paid entrants at $10 per person, the payouts would look like this:

1st) $320
2nd) $160
3rd) $112
4th) $72
t5th) $44
t7th) $24

This would change depending on the number of people in the tournament. For example, a 64 person tournament would pay out at 44%/22.5%/14.5%/9%/5%. A 128-person tournament would pay out at 38%/19%/13%/8%/5%/3%/1.5%. The over-arching goal would be to pay out to the top 10% of players, give or take a few spots.

ewww, what? I thought there were only 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place payouts (standard 70/30/10 split accordingly). This shit stepped up to FPS status?

As for the macro bit, I wasn't sure about as I believe in the past you've mentioned that there would be no macros allowed despite Eric mentioning it in the main thread. Anyway, can't wait to see those sad pad faces when I say "sorry, none of that a+b, a+d scrub shit, thanks".

Here's to a hype-tastic, macro-free NEC.

It's always that serious. :V

Granted, Eric has the absolute final say in regards to that (and anything about the tournament, really) -- I just think the standard payout structure for fighting game tournaments just gets silly when you get more than 40 sign-ups (Evo 2009 SF4 with 1100 entrants only paying out the top 3 players is insane to me). You should know by now that I'm willing to toss convention to the wind.

Regarding the marcos, I really do not care either way. However, I have sent a message to Eric requesting clarification.

Not-quite-ninja edit: Another site update and footage from the Arcana Heart tournament a couple of years back is now up (because your life never has enough lolifighting in it).

Please retweet responsibly.

FUCK THAT
Is there any reason you are against it beyond the fact that it's a (perceived) re-distribution of wealth from you to other players?

Because Top 8 doesn't mean anything in a game where 80% of the community can't land bnb's during tourney.

I'm not going to be making some arbitrary distinction based on the perceived quality of the player base (granted, the bigger the player base the lower the average quality of the player is going to be).

I think you're also underestimating the quality of the player base -- not by a whole lot, but by a bit. I don't have any stone-cold lock picks that I would be comfortable making; there are 4-5 people that I see as having a legitimate shot at winning out, and that's not counting a couple of people that I just enjoy perpetually leaving off (like Lord Knight and Brandino -- what am I, racist?)

Current list of events happening in the 36 Chambers of Povert:

Mizuki's Art of Fighting 3 Drinking Game

The rules are simple, you play one standard match of AoF3 versus another player. EVERYTIME you get knocked down, you take a shot. For everyones safety we are only allowing players to play once every 2 hours, yes its necessary

MIZUKI EDIT: Not even 2 hours, after 1 game you're done for the night

Desora's [EXTREME] CvS2 Challenge

Play ft2 matches of CvS2 with ex grooves turned on along with some other adjustments, matches will be commented/recorded and uploaded. Sp00ky knows about this lol

phae's Edward 40 Hands

jiyuna tried to do this at a previous gathering(RIP) but it didn't work out too well. Basic rules are you get 2 40s taped to each of your hands, and you cant untape either of them until you have finished both 40s. I think its like $5 to enter to pay for the 40s or something idk, ask her

I also need some professional SMM players to commentate me vs jiyuna ft10
