Warpticon: Southwest is w/ WC this time around. The South in this case does not go further west than Texas.

West Coast - NorCal/SoCal/Vegas/1 multi-state team
East Coast - NY/Higher EC (Jersey/MA/PA/Philly)/Lower EC (VA/MD/Delaware)
South - NC (granted they are in full force like at FR)/2 multi-state teams
MidWest - 2 teams; split between IL (left MW - 1 team) and Indiana (right MW - 1 team)/1 multi-state team (KY is considered MW in this case)
Foreign - Japan (granted they come 5 deep)/1 multi-national team (Canada/EU/Mexico/Netplay-land what's good)
Wild Card - Console Characters! 1 team consisting of one, some, or all of the console characters of AA! NAC/Ryougi/S.Akiha/Mech and Neco/Mech and Kohaku.

Grand total - 16

It may be less then more put in due to some things, but 16 is where it will stay. I don't want byes flying around for the all-Ryougi team. Give them 5 fags some steam, they'd prolly roll with it. If you have any questions about something on that list that's off, blame my geography teacher. Other than that, if you decide to confirm a team in your region, I need your 5 best NO MATTER WHO THE FUCK THEY PLAY! All confirmed teams should be PM'ed to me and sent no later than July 2nd.

Remember, this is winner take all for $1600. That ought to put some flames under your ass.

You can pick up just 1 person from them and it'll be straight. Otherwise, the way I see it, Arizona is probably taking up most of the "multi-state" spot anyway so wins here?

Some upsets maybe...not all though. I think a good majority of the upsets will just come from certain people losing to people they're absolutely think they shouldn't lose to. With the amount of play people are going to be getting in at EVO (Anyone who's hungry enough anyway) lack of match-up EXP just sounds like a cop-out. You can tell when someone gets outplayed...match-up EXP or lack of.

I think that if we used this Regional 5 on 5 shit as an exhibition to show people how hype melty is, just for publicity's sake, it may be good to limit same characters in a team to 2.

I understand that it kinda takes away from the "purity" of the ruleset, but I think it'd be great to show EVO and SRK a bit more of the game.  Besides, I don't think any team will field more than 2 players with the same character.

Sure you're not nowhere near each other, but you're both WC on a map. Also, I have no idea how that scene up there is like so apologies for getting you mixed up with Oregon. Now since Loli understands the situation a little better (sorry about the mixups earlier), I'll have Oregon/WA and AZ/Vegas teams and that'll be it for WC. That's 4 teams for you right there.

That being said, if anyone else has a problem, please tell me. I am always open to suggestions.

I was so on the verge of laming a multi-national foreign team because of this. JP and THE netplay warrior. Assssssssssssss.

Just a thought but, I was thinking back to last year's EVO when they did the 5-on-5 region thing.  It was more interesting to me as a viewer because it gave me an idea of what all the different matchups were like, rather than the expected Ryu vs Balrog kind of stuff.  Matches like SabrE vs Valle come to mind.

I think it'd be fun and inspiring to watch from an audience's point of view if there was more variety within the teams rather than just seeing (potentially) five of the same characters just grinding it out.  Gives a bit more perspective and a overall feeling of the game, rather than watching the same character being played over and over.

Looking ahead, it might be in our best interests to use this chance to inspire more people to try out Melty Blood, ensuring a future for the game competively in tournaments. 

...Unless some of you are planning to drop the game after EVO is done and over...
