Heh. It looks like the problem here is that the randoms that wouldn't get in an 8-team tourney are voting up the 16-team options while the players that organize things/top players want something else. Obviously, if you leave it up to the majority, people that otherwise wouldn't make it into the tournament would want in.

I voted for the 16 teams myself, for the same reason.

Well, I don't mind the number of teams, I just think that big money + single elim randomness is going to cause a lot of rage. Especially among the top players who are seriously expecting to take all that money.

Also, 16 teams at 5 people each is a grand total of 80 players. Do we actually have 80 serious, competitive players that will be showing up for this?

Anyway, it's not like I'm opposed to going 16 man, single elim. I think it'll be fucking hilarious and probably full of ridiculousness. I'm just stating random concerns as I think about it from both angles.

Due to my own doubt about this thing having full on support (due to lack of entrants/participation and in the chance of my absence from Evo), I'll slim the thing down to either a 16 team cap 3on or an 8 team cap 6on (both equaling 48 players). I'm leaning towards 16 teams, to allow that everyone gets in where they fit in. I'm also cutting the entry fee to $10 a person. Being from the same region/state doesn't apply here as much, since most of you would be teaming with the people you fucks with on a regular basis.

Also, just for fun, I would like for those 48 players to participlate in a FREEEEE 24v24. Playground rules ofc. Sp00ky and Bell team captains?

Middle of fucking nowhere. This includes Texas, and whatever else
North America that's not really America (Canada, Mexico)
Europe
Wildcard (aka people are like "WHY ISN'T SO AND SO ON THE TEAM!")

Japan is banned because they'd obviously win (No offense for not allowing japan in)

This also makes it to where the fucking tourney doesn't possibly end up like NEC7 TMNT TF tourney. We want this to have the best players, fuck I can't even name 16 good players from America off the top of my head, let alone 48. If I wanted to play "lets spot the decent player out of a slopfest" I'd watch joybox vids

This could possibly bring Qaenyin and Veteru out of their caves and I'm sure Norcal and scramble 3 somewhat decent players who could team with them.

A standard 3v3 would get rid of most of the problems and to the people saying we want the best players to show up to this...I'm pretty sure the best players will enter this regardless unless they had no intention of going to EVO in the first place.

Ok if niggas didn't get the memo, this is just a 3v3. Same ol' rules ya'll niggas know the drill. Get your team assembled ahead of time though. We'll do this on Saturday at a time where mostly everyone can be available for a few hours.

We can grab a few TVs from somewhere and get this done right? Someone who has been to Evo before, please gimme some insight on where we can do this.

You'll need to have people get up early and secure some of the BYOC TVs. Last year Side tourneys got run in the main room but off to the side (Rio's Ball Room was the location). As long as you secure TVs (don't let DarkGeese take them all for KOFXI 10-entrant tournaments) you should be good.
