Players if you’re arriving Friday please call me, you can coming to my room (801) and pay your registration and entry fee or buy one of the fly ass NECXII shirts (designed by Kazi). That would really help me out if you guys can do that. See contact section for the appropriate information.
I have changed a lot of entry fee so players can have some kind of money left over to do other things with like eat and party or do whatever. I think this will help the numbers in some of the smaller games too.
GAME RULES:
Unless otherwise stated all console tournaments will be played on PS3.
All singles tournaments will be standard format 2/3 games for normal matches and 3/5 for finals matches.
Team tournaments are single match the entire tournament including all finals matches.
SCHEDULE:
Venue and entry fees will be collected between 9am and 5pm both days. Please allow 1 hour prior to tournament start time to register. Even if you preregistered online you will still need to check in at the registration desk for each tournament.

Alright guys, good to see that people are putting in their support and are planning to come out to this. Stage 2 is about to begin, so I'd like to share a little bit of what myself and a few others have planned for Melty Blood at this event.
What were going to do is set up interviews for Top 4 and we'd also like to interview Big E. This game's about to go into the next step, so we've got to get to steppin' along with it. Melty Blood's also got some history with this tourney, so its good to hear from the big man himself some of the war stories to fill in the gray areas for people. Now in order to do that, we'll be needing the proper equipment and manpower.
A cameraman, some interviewers, and video editors. I can take on the video editing if need be, but we'll need some people out on the field to take care of the other stuff. We do have some candidates for interviewers, but we're kind of in the dark on headcounts.
I went ahead and made an entrant list here, so if you posted in this thread you're on here and if I'm wrong blow me up for it. Anyone else whos going, post in this thread so you can be added on the list here, I'll update it. Its Stage 2 and the enemies get harder, theres more deathtraps and the boss at the end goes full retard on low health, but we're gunna clear this shit! Lets go, do what you guys do best, hype to hell and back!

We're gonna run brackets from Tigre's computer, I'm gonna call out matches along with whoever else wants to help. Things will be kept running. I'll also be running around to different rooms looking for players if need be.

ok so from the look of it, seems like Linne and Aigis will be running MB @NEC but just to make sure, a few questions to be safe:
1) Who will be the moderators (and possible judges) for MB singles and teams?
2) Is there a list of available units and mb copies? Who's bringing what? Are there backups in case ppl flake out?
3) Entry fee (teams & singles)? Format (2/3, winners/losers/grand set 3/5)? Seeding (regional)? Rules, judgment, banned stuff, etc? Pot split?
4) Estimated start time and days for teams & singles?
I know a lot of this is common sense and all but it's pretty standard to see some sort of official post with info covering the above query.

I'd say if you were just looking for an excuse to buy a new camcorder and really wanted to buy one anyway, do it and bring it. Shit may get pretty tight. If you really didn't want to spend the money, then just bring the old one.

Having 4 stations/setups would probably be ideal for a smooth run. Backups will probably be necessary though so if we could have say 6 units at our disposal, that would be great!

dude, you should have seen the last winter brawl. MB ended up getting only half of the entrants (15 total) because people didn't want to pay $10 entry and chose to enter AH3 instead =|. don't see much point in having a real "event" for CC considering that the game works on a different buffer and the canadian cc setup very likely lags (on top of the fact that none of us besides LK have any practice). it would end up pretty much just being a more-competitive-than-usual crappy looking casual but would have inherent appeal which would only distract from the other events. idk, it's partially my sentiment that i want this to be a last serious tournament for MBAA and people getting hype drained by CC is against my interests. we'll all have the game in a month so why go out of our way to play like shit on a questionable setup in lieu of having a real tournament. not to say i have anything against cc casuals, which are inevitable. and of course, still a huge thumbs up to canada for bringing their setup down; feels kinda funny to read other people deliberating/deciding about what to do with somebody else's setup.
another thing: we ARE doing 3v3 pokemon teams right? it's pretty important to know this beforehand so we can form our teams.

Sorry, I've been missing for a bit, school and work has had me fucked over the last few weeks :nyoro:
As we learned at Summer Jam, we need to be prepared to cut the stream. Even during grand finals.
To absolutely remedy this, it seems that the setup will be myself streaming, and Hal doing video capture. so even if something happens to one setup, we can still continue rolling with things. As far as AH3/MB, I'll probably alternate video between the two in hour blocks or so, if no one else brings equipment.
As far as TVs go, I've got monitors lined up for AH3, so that should help to free up resources for mb.
Concerning teams, as I've said before I have no problem running 3v3, as long as I have enough teams to run a 3v3. Worst case I can fall back on 2v2.
Can we start getting a rough team list going for 3v3? I'd like to get at least 8 teams down, if I get that we'll be running fine.

I'm not bringing my streaming setup this year... the setup doesn't travel well over airplanes (that and last year the TSA nearly destroyed it... and they did destroy the suitcase it was in, ugh). That and it needs to be overhauled in general (the CPU is too weak to really handle anything from this generation).
I'll be there Friday afternoon, for anyone that cares.

also, is it no problem to record the matches independently of whether or not they are streaming? the most important thing to me is being able to go back and watch the good matches from NEC. most of the players who watch stream will be at the event anyway. this also applies to stream archiving (please don't put up streams in places where they will be deleted in 2 days without saving the record). i'd be really thankful if whoever's in charge of match recording saves the videos in some capacity and records the hypest matches as usual regardless of whether they are in finals. we have a lot of good players and in all likelihood half of them will be knocked out before top8.

i have a full setup (with a small tv) but it lags between matches so if at all possible you shouldn't rely on it for tourney. i personally don't like having my flow interrupted waiting for "once again" to load and it already irritates me in casuals
