Sac-con Melty blood tournament "Regular Scuffle Hum - Plastic Cup"

Just for everyone's information, the prize is 1/3 of the pot, so the bigger the turnout, the bigger the pot will be. The split up is 1/3 to the tourney holders, 1/3 to con holders, and 1/3 to 1st prize (sorry, no grab bags this time around ). But yeah, show up and show us what you guys got, i'm always down for a good challenge . i'm shaking already O_o ...

...or it's just me being cold. Oh, and one last thing, i'll be hosting a tourney/get-together/hang-out party on the 22nd of september, so prepare for that too!

(sidenote: i'm the guy thats been throwing the tourneys in sac, so if theres any problems or questions you can ask me or satsujinki.)

right now im so pumped for this weekend, i finally got my laptop back so i can practice again. i expect epic battles, no matter who wins or loses.

i need to borrow someone's stick, i think i have someone in mind. but for this weekend ill be going pad only.

as for PC joysticks, we are officially (atleast from the last update i was given) using Ps2 controller to USB converters. so if you have a pad/stick compatible for ps2 feel free to bring it.

With our group, I'm sure we'll be bringing extra laptops, sticks, keyboards, and Pelican converters.  In case we want to do some casuals after the tourney or something.

Not that it'll stop me from going, but that is a really shitty division of prize money. Most tournies are 70/20/10 for 1st/2nd/3rd or something close to that. Money going to con holders? Well, if that's the con policy then so be it. 1/3 to the tourny holders? What? It's not that uncommon for there to be a registration charge or something, to cover expenses, in addition to the tournament entry fee... but taking it out of the pot is crass. I think this is a pretty bad precedent to be setting.

yeah i know what you mean, but the thing is (apparently) that most other cons are non-profit organizations while this one is, so the con owner is literally living off of these cons. with that in mind, to me, i would sound like a total ass if i told him that i would be taking all of the money while hes providing me a place to do it.

From the looks of it, we should have roughly 9 people heading to Sacramento from SJ(7)/Redwood City(2) for this event. If this number can be even just matched by the players from the local Sacramento area + other random attendees, we should have a fairly fun event on our hands this Sunday.

Price of the room divided by expected number of attendees as venue fee, seperate tourny entry fee for pot, maybe. Depends on the price of the room. What people usually do for Guilty Gear tournaments is have them at people's houses/apartments or get arcades to host them (Still usually a venue fee but arcades like more people showing up, even if it's only to play on consoles, since the attendees still spend $ on games. Differs between arcades depending on owner/operator policies) so there's no room rental fee or anything.

Let it be noted that I'm not certain that everyone will be entering the tourney.  Everybody plays Melty to an extent and they're interested in checking out the tourney, but they may not be entering for one reason or another.  I know at least 6 of us are intending to enter.

i can vouch for atleast 3 people from my personal knowledge that are going to join. Idolo and our other host might end up unable to participate in the tournament simply because they have this stupid rule about participants.

however at the moment they're trying to argue it and see if they can get in...

the last winner from the previous small tourney is highly likely to come, so all in all on the sacramento side, there is a possible player count of 6+ on our side.
that dosent account for random people who show up and play. however out of those possible 6+ only 3 players are completely sure to play.

so from what i've gathered there is a possibility of 9+ players. on that note, i would like to state the obvious and say that random entries that dont browse this board are highly likely join.
