(This is Mizuki now) During the tournament, if you have to go somewhere, tell the person who is running the tournament. If you did not tell the person running it I personally will give you 5 minutes not during semis and beyond. Once in semis and therefore I will call your name 3 times. If you dont NOT show up in those 3 minutes I will drop you. If you have to go to the bathroom, or want to grab something to eat, tell me PLEASE. I will not mind if I have to wait 15 minutes for you to eat, as long as you tell me you will be SAFE 100%, I guarentee it.
This is a major problem I faced with the two WT's I've ran and I'm sick of it personally, and other people are too. I don't even care if it's Sp00ky or someone who is gone, I'll drop you.
Oh and don't think being in the Guilty Gear tournament will save you if you don't tell me. I will drop you. Me, the jackass I am even tell people I have to go for a moment, and if I can do it, you guys can do it too.

Execution, I have problems occassionally, but I can get off what I want to about 90%+ of my attempts. I have a respectable grasp of the most critical advanced techniques. I play VAkiha. I'd rate myself as a very average Melty main player. I lack demonstrative replays, being currently deployed, but will provide some as soon as I have human opponents to play.

Questions regarding the equipment: Are we on arcade machines, then? So BYOC is for casuals only?

We need new monitors. We've had numerous complaints about them from WT 8-9. I talked to Arlieth about it at 8 and he even felt some lag.

I'm going to use our previous setup with televisions outputting from the PC instead of the big-screen monitors for WTX. We currently have four televisions available, and two of those will be allocated to GGXXAC. It still strikes me as strange though, since the big-screens are running at 800x600@60Hz and are going directly from VGA. S-Video doesn't have lag either, fortunately (our MvC2 and CvS2 setups use S-Video).

I will be coming to WTX. I have secured my days off from work. Here's my problem, though.
Why S-Video? Why use an interlaced connection for a game that should be running in progressive scan 640x480? Melty Blood is a PC and arcade fighter, both of which were made to run on VGA monitors. S-Video is not frame lag-free because your graphics card has to downscale and interlace the video, which will cause at least 1 frame of lag. More if the computer is underpowered and has a bad video card, I bet. If properly set up on the PC and using a CRT monitor, there are 0 frames of lag.
I will personally go out and purchase three or four 19" or larger CRT monitors to DONATE to FFA if they will be used for Melty Blood at West Toast. I do this for the spirit of the game, as I want the most arcade-perfect experience for the game as possible. Why settle for less? Especially if it's coming out of my pocket.
Also: Nerina, let's team up!

Choco: Uhh, no need to do that, really. What I can just do instead is to have the television on top for audience viewing and the players watching the normal VGA monitor itself. The only thing that was strange earlier was that we were using 29" vga monitors and were incurring lag somehow.

Basically: Speakers mounted to the wall, hooked up to a receiver or amplifier with microphone input. If I had my way, it'd also have a switch for 6 separate speakers so I could change up from local for commentary to global for announcements, but that's another story.

Can't. These tournaments are few and far between, and it's more motivation for you guys to practice up. Majors are exemplary of top-level play, so the higher pot has to be there for the best players to take it seriously, myself included.

I'd like to propose that broadcast mode be utilized in order to automatically save the replays after every match without worry or hassle.
According to Tropsy, if properly configured, there will be no lag created by doing so and would auto-save replays even if people hit "Once Again".

Okay, I had Zar watch my bnbs for a bit via Caster, I did option 9, and he observed. I couldn't do Aoko BnB as consistent online, I just thought it was me fucking up. Then Zar swapped and showed me some shit with the same way, he was dropping BnB's like flies, but then once he was offline in training mode he said he was able to perform them. Also to test if there was some lag, I attempted White Len BnB with option 9, and couldn't even do 2aa2b 623a5c without dropping it all the time, but I was able to do it in training.
I don't want anymore lag shit happening, so there will be no more extra ad-ons to this tournament. It will be ONLY the game running, set it to high priority with Task Manager, and USB Tweaker will be set on computers. This is why I'm donating a nice lagless monitor that's 17 inches.

You really should have been using option 4 -- broadcast mode -- since that is what probably would be used in a live setting.
I know I've played Choco here using broadcast (to auto-save replays) and there were no known issues, and while I may play like a monkey I think his setups are sensitive enough to be messed up by any lag.
I don't see it happening, since just the perceived notion that Caster may be affecting the game -- real or otherwise -- would throw the entire tournament into question.

Actually, now that it was singles day, I played a lot more casuals and shit and did imo a lot more better although I fuckin got last again. I'm starting to think that I should just continue to play solo Kohaku because she's the only character that's giving me progress so far, or I just gotta hit a sausage fest and play MBAC nonstop with W.Len learning that shit down. usually wt is pretty lame for me so i go for the hype and exp. guess i've made some serious progress since being dat keyboard crusher at evo world. i actually had fun and did well in casuals, playing new people is always great.

I know these shoutouts are long overdue but everyone's been getting sick lately and sadly I'm no exception to the rule. :(
Arly and Kijea - Thanks for allowing me to team with you guys because we put on quite a show. Hopefully we can work our magic again at WTXI.
Sp00ky - It was good to see you again and finally get some offline matches. Looking forward to you joining us again in the near future.
bell - Funny, you remember my ip but not my face. :-X Didn't get to play against you at all but hopefully next time. Last time we played offline was like 6 months ago. :-\ The commentary was entertaining.
Psy - Didn't really get many casuals with you but we'll always find time to play matches against each other online with almost no lag. We did pretty well in GG teams. Too bad you weren't there for singles. :( The post-singles MMs were a lot of fun. Maybe we should get one in next time since our matches are always fun to watch.
Sync - It was nice playing casuals against you. Too bad you had to leave when the MMs began. We'll get our dual MMs next WT and it'll be great. ;)

AZ crew - Thanks for coming out here, it was good to play against you guys again after so long. @Jaxx, the commentary during the MMs was HILARIOUS. There's a possibility that you'll be doing some of the commentary at FR.
