West Toast XIII announced. Get your asses over here, suckers. This is a three day event, but a two day tournament. Here's the current schedule:

Friday 10/31
All day casuals & Hallowe'en party. No actual tournament events will run on this day, however, there will be a Hallowe'en party with prizes and fun!
COSTUME CONTEST!
Prizes include: $25 NX cash card, gift cards, and some other stuff. XD
Saturday 11/1 - 1:00 PM THIS MEANS GET HERE BY 12:30 PM DAMNIT.
MBAC Singles
GGAX Singles if someone wants to run it
TSS Singles
Sunday 11/2- 1:00 PM THIS MEANS GET HERE BY 12:30 PM DAMNIT.
MBAC Teams (2 on 2 waseda)
GGAX Teams if someone wants to run it
TSS Teams (2 on 2 waseda)
Please show up on time, especially on Sunday since we want to wrap this up so people can go home and be ready for work on Monday.
We haven't determined the entry fees yet, but expect somewhere in the market of $5ish.

On a more serious note, I need time off more than anything and if I want to travel out that far I'm actually required to take leave. This is just too good a opportunity to practice up for NEC so I'm gonna consider it. Although I think it'd be a better idea if its moved on a Saturday instead.

It's currently looking like DA, but we'd need to clear everything with Rich first.

I really hope this is held at Denjin Arcade instead of FFA. Also, even if AA is available by then we should just hold tournaments for both.
My vote is for moving it to Saturday too. Friday is too tough for me and the friends I'd bring along to make.

Instead of trying to push this for Halloween, how about have it on a Saturday thats more convenient for a lot of the people going to this especially the out of towners. Also, it'd be easier for myself and possibly spooky to fly out on a friday morning or evening than it would be to fly on a thursday afternoon right after work (Applies to me). I honestly don't want to spend almost $800 for a "tournament" that sounds more like a convention.
I can understand ironing out all the details and stuff, but wanting it on Friday because of Halloween REALLY makes the timing very sketchy.

Looks like Friday will be a general Halloween party with costume raffles and MBAA wackiness at Denjin. Saturday-Sunday will be the main tournaments but I won't be running 100% of the brackets (Shogo will take over after a certain point).

Just remember: The more days you make this last, the harder it is for out-of-towners to stay for the entire event. I still wish we had a one-day tournament event and maybe a chill day before or after. Spreading this out over a long time means people have to take off even more from work / school, making it tough to travel and enjoy the festivities. Just keep this in mind when it comes to scheduling, unless you guys really want to keep it a SoCal-only thing.

Loyalty to a specific arcade aside (cause i have none for either), but I would choose which ever is the nicest...ie more room, avaliable TVs/PCs, AIR CONDITIONING, non locked bathrooms....uhh stuff like that, i dont mind the extra drive if the atmosphere is ok, most of us will be carpooling anyways.
