The Rules
Double Elim.
2/3 Games for Normal Matches
3/5 Games for Winners, Losers, and Grand Finals
Winner must keep same character(Able to choose different Arcana[Arcana Heart only])
If player is not available at time of match, will be sent to loser's bracket. If already in loser's bracket, will be eliminated. Name will be called out using intercom system.

Arcana Heart/Melty Blood runs on Sanwa joysticks & buttons
Third Strike/Super Turbo/MvC2/SC3 runs on American joysticks(p360s) & buttons
The Prize Distribution
70/20/10 for all games

$160 a night

If you are interested in attending and/or entering any of the tournaments, feel free to post with your intentions. If theres anything you'd like to ask regarding the tournament, or if theres anything you'd like to suggest/see at this LU, don't hold back.
Depending on how long the tourneys run, Free Play may be on for an amount of time after the tournaments have ended. There are food spots within the area, and directions to the arcade will be posted up soon. The results of this event will be taken and scored to start off this year's ranbat scoring. I have two cameras for recording tournaments, but I will need many more if I want to get everything completed recorded.
The second Lolifest in most likely a series of monthly tournaments, I'm striving to make the tournament much better with every month. Last LU, things didn't start on time, and confusion as to who was running brackets made tourneys drag on. I am learning from my mistakes, and I hope to fix the things necessary to make this second LU even more enjoyable.
The newer games being added to the line-up is Marvel vs. Capcom 2, SC3, and GGAC. SC3 is tentative right now because I'm not sure what the turnout would be for it. GGAC is also tentative because at the time of the first Lolifest, the PS2 cabinet was not available for usage. In order to make sure that these games can be run, I need to get an estimate on how many heads would show up for SC3. I would also need to make sure the PS2 cabinet will be available for usage at the time of LU2.
Date may be changed if random winter weather shows it's face / any other major tournaments run the same weekend. I hope for a great turnout this time around, and don't hesitate to tell those who might be interested about this event!

IMO do a 7 dollar entry fee and have freeplay enabled all day.

TGA charges $20 and does free play all day, and it's 400 times the trouble to get to.
You should just charge $10-$20 entry fee for UP and then a separate fee per tournament.
And change the name you dumb fuck.

well it's version b2 cab... with jap sticks... sanwa stick and sanwa buttons... and stick is a square gate...

The button spacing gets into my head. It doesn't make me press the wrong button most of the time, it just makes me not press anything. It isn't unplayable, but that won't stop me from complaining about it. Remember, I have a lot of complaint material from having to put up with chibi all this time.

EVERYBODY COME OUT TO THIS SO I CAN TAKE GROUP PICTURES USING MY CAMERA
The cab is a Marvel style cab(a space between the screen and the control panel), with Japanese buttons/sticks. Square gates, Samwa brand. 50 cents a game, pay per play. If you plan on coming down, e-mail Chibi regarding the hotel room. Chances are if you're coming down from another state, you'll want to rest in a nice comfortable room with the rest of us, which shouldn't be any more than $10 a head.
Suprised Kevin hasn't said anything about the cab not having a PS2 port.
EDIT: Wow DesertCoffin, if you come out to this you are sooo awesome. You too Vizard, it's nice to see new heads come out to philly for these tourneys.
EDITEDIT: Forgot to post in this topic with the changed date. It is now Feb 9th, sorry if anyone already made plans for the 2nd. :(

Anybody coming down, it'd be great if you could bring extra recording equipment, or SD cards for my cameras. I've only got two at the moment which means theres gonna be a lot of game discriminating as far as recording goes.

The room cost $200 last time, but that was the weekend before New Years, maybe it might not cost as much this time.

Unless Melty doesn't start at 5 PM, I'll only be around for friendlies.
Also, a couple of complaints:
Signups definately do not take 4 hours. Warmups can take 1 hour to an hour and a half at most (and I'm pretty sure I'd be using one of the more execution heavy chars) especially when you give an extra hour specifically for casuals. Try to get the ball running early.
The staggered tourney times are questionable. They should probably all start at the same time (though I understand the reason for the staggering). If people running the tournament is a problem, someone should step up and run it. Bring bracket sheets in advance.
The main problem I had last time was how unneccesarily long and behind schedule the tournament took. Once night time came, people started showing up, and it just went downhill. I had fun, but the tournament was not run well at all.
A better schedule could be like:
10:00 AM - 11:45AM/12:00 PM - Signups
12:00-12:30 PM - Bracket creation
12:45 - Tournaments start. (If staggered, make it 10/15 minutes instead of half an hour).

i can do early start time.... but it's been like this all the time...2-3 is fair start time for tourney...i feeel 10:45 is a bit too early for out of towners

That wasn't it Nas, people playing other games are to be expected and to keep the tourney moving I just had another match play. The preparation was very bad last time, we didn't start until like 6 or something silly because Eric had to leave to get brackets (which I told him I could've made) along with him taking forever to switch it to freeplay mode. Having an earlier start time would also make for less interference with the general public.
Usually I have to get to C3 by 11 (from NJ) to get there in time for smash doubles. If you make the effort it can happen.

If you can't tell the difference between this one and the old one, don't try to lose sleep over it. Also the reason why I have a 4-hour sign-up period is because I don't want to rush the out-of-town guys that are REALLY coming out from somewhere far for this. Really, it's not that nice to ask for someone to be at the arcade around 2pm(or anything less than that), because for some it takes 2+ hours to get down here(Fucking Kayin is coming from the other side of the world to get down here).
If you didn't know already, pretty much last time Eric took the tournament from me and ran it the way HE wanted to, which I really didn't like. This time around I'm making sure that I'm doing everything myself, and that I have all the tools needed to get the tournament started when I show up. I'm going to have the laptop with the tourney software, and right now I'm asking that people let me know which games they plan on entering, so I'll just be able to check your name off upon paying your entrance fee. I'll probably be running all of the tournaments, so that everyone can chill out and play their games. It'll be really easy to find everyone for each game, because all the games are now moved into one general area, instead of spread far apart. Please understand that I didn't want to run the last tournament that way, but Eric forced me to. Not to say he wasn't helpful, but when you have two people who can make brackets by hand(Zaelar/LK), why would you run home for 1 1/2 hours and leave everyone hanging?
Also, I have that time schedule so people can fill their stomachs at a restaurant of choice before playing some muuutherrrr fuuuuckkingggg gaaeeemzzzzzz, man I'm so hype now ;D
For anyone who doesn't browse SRK, the ST guys are getting a 5v5 going, PA vs. NY+Alpha. I'd like to see something like this in MBAC, if not for money then just for fun!

CvS2 is a confirmed tournament, it'll be put into the Marvel cab with Japanese controls. I'm gonna try and meet with the owner today to work out everything so I can get all the information down and relayed to everyone who's coming.
