EX gauge has a halfway mark and between both characters' GRD gauges is a circular clock that resets whenever GRD Vorpal is reached.

It seems that the Auto-Recover mechanic is a disadvantage. At 11:31, Yuzuriha punishes Orie when she auto-recovers from the air by throwing her. Knowing when the game forces you to auto-recover could be a crucial part in continuing combos.

Apparently you can throw while the opponent is in blockstun. 39:37 Linne is blocking Vatista's multihit orb and got thrown out.

The Orie player could have throw teched that.  There was another player who did later.  It's just a gimmick.

Same with when you're locked down in blockstun and get thrown.  When Vati threw the ex fireball down on Linne and jumped over to go for the throw, she teched the throw and the fireball just passed right through them during the invincibility.  From what I saw in that video, throw tech looked safe as fuck and there might not even be any restriction on doing it (such as counterhit throws in bb).

going to assume he means : I don't speak a lick of Japanese and someone needs to go in or find someone to go in on eng > jp translations to send out an invite/proposal. . .

Anyway, incoming #opinions

...this game looks lame as fuck (and not "good lame" either) and I'm not at all impressed w/ the character designs (NOT CHARACTER AESTHETICS, I'm mean the mechanics overall). With the exception of the puddle dude, who isn't even all that interesting to begin with, characters look bland, boring and uninspired.

Linne = zantetsu (LB2)/ryougi clone, Hyde = Setsuna (LB2) clone, Vatista = fake ass Mu (BB), Yuzuriha = Senna clone (Big Bang), valdstein = pot/tager clone. And inb4 You = Hater.

Looking pretty pathetic in its current build. Hoping these dudes step it up cus dropping MB to work on this. . .They better put in overtime.

I personally disagree on certain points, but I suppose you're entitled to not like it.

I can say that I've seen variations of these fighting styles before, but to be honest, I like this particular implementation of them. There's just enough divergence from the base style that I consider the game to be worth a shot.

I always forget the existence of throw techs because of its absence back in MBAC >.<

I'm kinda with Zar on this one, the game looks good yet feels unappealing, but despite character design weighting a lot on my decision to give a game a chance or not, I think originality is a relative concept and somehow overated, quality-wise in the end it doesnt matter who invented something but who perfected it. That said, even thou Yuzuriha got my attention a little I probably wouldnt touch the game anyway if it werent made by you know who.

Well, that is something that I doubt that they can change at this point. Since the last two loctests, I think that they have locked in on the character designs. I will agree with this...They don't stand out for the most part, the characters designs as slick as they are.... are very by-the-numbers, stock anime-like designs.  I think that other elements outside of look will turnout to the define the characters, it's really the only other option that they have.

And keep in mind that, French Bread is still very small last that I checked. So it may also be a matter of resources. How many employees are at FB anyway?

Frankly, with Melty Blood... French Bread got extremely lucky. For them, the characters where already defined, established and made, all they needed to do was adapt the play-styles and make the sprites. That and Type-Moon didn't say "no" (or "sue") when they asked for more resources/data on the characters. Which is why I am watching this develop honestly, French Bread as proven that they can make a fighter with help... Now can they do that without the safety net that Type-Moon provided them with?
So far, I would say, yes... but we'll have to see the end product to be sure.  The gameplay seems, interesting for the most part... and it's the thing that most concerns me.

Activation probably just has some invul frames.

Man, so happy with how Gordeau is looking right now.  He's playing right into the style I wanted.

So far, Carmaine looks fragile as hell, with how much life is drained from each special usage.  Orie also has some seriously gimped damage, though she has a lot of good pokes.  Otherwise, everyone is looking pretty good.  I'm glad they gave Wald some more damage and easier confirms.  Yuzu is probably a little too good, but we'll see.

Also, somehow I never really noticed how slow/awkward Merkava's movement is, and how weird his pressure is compared to the rest of the cast.  It's like he's the Nero of the game, meaning that he sort of plays at his own pace apart from the rest of the cast.

Also, might as well share this pastebin of my observations while I was watching the videos.  It's a little too long to just paste into here (apparently 114 lines, yikes).

Seth's orb pressure looks like you can do hilariously lulzy crap if you can scare your opponent into respecting it. Dude is flying all over the place and still locking them down.

It really looks like they smoothed things out for a lot of the characters since their first introduction videos. The new effects aren't bad either.

I think they actually slowed Merkava down since the Tougeki build. I remember the full screen grab being tighter when blocked.

However, SETH. Seth looks like so much fun to play. I might actually end up using him over Linne.
