So anyone want to start placing bets that Seth is actually Kuon?

Speaking of Seth, his EXS is actually "Piercing Chains" and not "Chain Locks". My bad.

*flips table* Well, thank goodness there are better translations than my sloppy ones. +HEAT for linking.

I'm guessing that that Hilda person will be the last character to be included and act as a boss character, seeing that all the slots in the character select screen are filled with one more slot in the main site.

Don't cry about it if it doesn't release in Spring.  They'll at least be dropping a load of more information and hopefully gameplay videos for us to drool over.

Oh, I won't cry about it. It's just that I'm hoping that the sooner the game is released in arcades, the sooner the clock on that 6-9 month window of time for the arcade run will start and I can start having nice visions of this game being in my PS3 someday.  :V

Waldstein's trolling is hilarious.

I wonder if he's actually like that in the game.

I know, I feel you on that one but you are still going to have to wait.
Good things come to those that wait....
Yep. It's one of the reasons I'm concerned about the Persona fighter. 3 months or thereabouts for an arcade run may get the game in the hands of consumers sooner, but the other shoe has to drop somewhere...
Please tell me that is not the release window that P4U is looking at...

He's not kidding. The projected release dates for P4U are March 2012 for arcades and "Summer 2012" for console. Only about a 3 months difference in between.

That has the potential of being somewhat more reasonable since at maximum you could be looking at a 5-month wait. Still if they think that 3-months will be reasonable... that will be crazy to try to pull off without something game-braking cropping up.
Good luck to Atlus and ASW, they will need it.

Some game mechanics got spilt on their main site. You'd get to know what the GRD is all about. Apparently there are instant kills and command dashes (6D).

hi
Quote
    lets do this shit
    UNIB SYSTEM
EXS: your meter. supers are 100%.
GRD: enhances attack/defense as it increases
shield(back+d): different from MB's as it seems to push opponent back
assault(fwd+d): think command dash. can be attacked from. uses meter.
    concentration(neutral d): charges exs.
chain shift(d twice): your roman cancel. also converts EXS and GRD
veil off(a+b+c): a sort-of heat. lasts 5 seconds, increases power, blows opponent off. may also work as a burst. makes it possible to use..
infinite worth(?) can also be used with 200% EXS. your desperation super or w/e.

throws and techs are 2 button. you can press buttons to reduce damage

System info! That looks... like a hybrid mix of Melty and BB/GG.

I am wondering how much of an influence GRD will have on offense/defense.

Oh hey, more pronunciations.

EXS - Exist [... so wait, what does that make FLS?]
GRD - Grind

But man, they really are going after that 'hateful blazblue', aren't they?

Command dash and IK instantly made me think HNK.  Good/Bad/Already Dead?

Big thanks for system update translation.  I didn't realize it from the quick translate notes, but chain shift converts ALL meter into grd.  Unless that's the only way to raise your grind bar (no homo?) it seems like that's kind of an unnecessarily good bonus to an already strong mechanic like roman cancelling.

Also apparently left out was the button configuration:
A=Weak, B=Mid, C=Strong, D=EXS (chara specific aka Drive)

Man, they're pretty shameless in just how much they are emulating BB.

Can anyone tell me wtf Vorpal mode is?  Is it just max GRD or some shit?  Or maybe not.  I just noticed the picture where it shows GRD VORPAL only has 5/6 stock.

From one of the pictures, it looks like you spend GRD on "GRD Vorpal" attacks. So by "enhances offense/defense" do they mean things like EX attacks and blowbacks?

Do they mention whether you can do Veil Off when under block/hitstun or just in neutral?

Oh word.  You probably answered my question before I could ask it.  So instead of having ex attacks via meter, you instead burn GRD to do ex attacks?  If that's the case...I ain't mad at that.

It does specifically state that you CANNOT use Veil Off like a typical burst to get out of hitstun.

Worth noting that that's just speculation. It looks like Hyde is doing an EX DP-esque move in the first gameplay picture, and it says GRD Vorpal with a GRD point missing.

I'd still like a translation to make certain I'm not giving people wrong impressions.

On Veil Off:
Ah, ok. Doesn't look like they have a typcal burst system then.

Well, for GRD and Vorpal...they don't directly say what it is.  I can't be certain, but it seems like they just taunt the reader with something along the lines of "anyone keen enough should understand the meaning".  If it helps any, Vorpal's direct meaning is "Deadly", so assuming an EX attack actually makes sense in this instance.

But don't get it wrong, every level of the GRD meter does give you a definitive power boost in offense and defense, from what I can understand.  It's not only ex/blowback as you mused.

Do note that the picture shows 6D to be a super jump, not just a regular command dash.

You need to have 200% EXS and in veil-off mode (call it V.O?) to activate your "infinite worth". Heck, even the text there pokes fun whether WAASU means "worth" or not. And they tell you not to tsukkomi them. But I'm guessing it's got something to do with the Inverse and Rebirth theme they got running in the story.

Throws are A+D. Still borrowed from Melty.

EDIT: Combos seem to do less damage here. In the first picture, Hyde does a 12 hit combo which nets just 2.8k, even with using that Vorpal thing. It's not to say that their total health is low either; the picture shows roughly less than a quarter of Linne's health gone, and 2.8k x 4 = about 11k like Melty. I hope it's just a demo picture for show and doesn't reflect actual gameplay.

Elements of the fight seem to go over the life bars, timer and damage indicator. We can see Hyde's sprite and his attack sprite go over the timer and Linne's health bar, and his Infinite Worth go over the combo damage numbers. Wonder if this will be an exploit for Waldstein...

I wouldn't assume that's a real combo.  Wait until it's playable and people start actually figuring shit out.  With shit like roman cancels and command dash/jump of sorts, I'm willing to put money on stupid absurd garbage combos showing up.  I really hope that combos don't last for ages and everyone dies after getting touched twice, but looking at the mechanics (and their obvious influences) I don't think that's a very realistic hope.

There isn't any mechanic listed which seems to help you escape a combo like Burst, so gotta be prepared for long combos like UMvC3. The closest thing we have is V.O which is already stated to not help you in hitstun. However, I do remember in the beginning of the old trailer video, Hyde is comboing Linne on the floor and she manages to escape hitstun and start blocking, and even rolls on the floor forward to dodge. Of course, it's been a long time since then, so there's no clue if that mechanic is still around. Gotta wait for gameplay.

But... what if that Chain Shot roman cancel is doable in hitstun?

Unless you get a large amount of GRD per EXS meter converted and the bonus to defense from having extra GRD was a large one, I'm not entirely certain how Chain Shift/Romen Cancel would help while you're in hitstun.

Edit: Just wondering, but it looks like the D button is getting translated as both being used for character specific Drive/EXS attacks and for special commands like the command dash/jump, Concentration, and Chain Shift. Is there a mistranslation somewhere or am I misunderstanding how the character specific EXS work?
