MBAA new game mechanic: Hierarchy system (or not)

This is a great tweak that benefits chars with less clash frames as in MBAC. Practically this levels the playing field in that regard.

This also reduces spamming situations as there are universal counters for each normal now.

Take that Nero's mantis arm! XD

I believe the new system that fixes clashes is a good one, seems more stable sicne clash feels a bit too random from time to time.

Regarding the RB, I do hope this does not fuck up 2AA if you have crappy hit confirm?

This newly implemented system is great - it adds another level of strategy into the game now.  ;D

What about commands like Ciel's ground dash?

I believe that will stay a clash since it's not an attack by itself.

Would this apply for special moves as well? Like does another characters 236B beat out another's 236A? How about EX moves?

Props for Ecole adding more depth to an already deep system.

So which attack > heat. jumping over heats isn't as soul crushing as clashing them.

As I've understood it, the clashframes are still there, but they are ignored as long as the right "clash criterias" are not reached.

Maybe Akiha can actually, you know, hit Warc in the air now!  Probably not, but it's a hope.

Spacing still matters.

Like if the move has good priority (like Warc jB) and is spaced properly, it's still gonna be hard to beat. I had problems beating AkihaF jC even though I knew to use jB with Ries sometimes.

the red splash effect is actually critical hits.

This new hierarchy system is a really great change imo. From what I can tell it, the hierarchy only really matters on situations where a trade CH would occur, tho i might be wrong. So like LK says a properly spaced attack won't automatically lose to its opposing attack type.

Old clash mechanic is still around, seen kohaku 2b clash with alot of moves, but it seems seperate to this new mechanic. Random moves clashing each other is happening alot less.

I've seen this happen with some specials too

Clashing occurs when the same lvl attack strength meet from what i can tell. e.g. koha 2b vs nero jb <-- seen this happen a lot.
zar are you even aware that your attitude is what drove people off in the first place. i think zar's attitude is worse than all of that. cause neither of you guys mean anything. but zar can poison shit around him. zar's the one that gets personal online and does realtalk that's out of line.

do any moves specifically have clash frames still unrelating to hierarchy? Or is clashing pretty much just reduced to same button moves(and ciels dash)?

By the way, Are Melty Blood and Melty Bread different games?

MBAA definitely has some clash frames, but they were probably lowered and relegated to only a few if any normals and some specials.

If somebody is clashing all your attacks with 4C, you're either already so outclassed there's no chance, or you're doing something seriously wrong.

What's with all the Nero hate I see here, anyway? It seems like every time a new mechanic comes up in the AA thread in Akiha's Tea Room, the first thing anybody does is try to figure out a way it hurts Nero.

Nero hate pales in comparison to Ciel hate and to answer your question under your avatar...Yes. Something is wrong with you.
If that's wrong, then I don't want to be right. :P

And I didn't ask if Nero was the most hated, I asked why he was hated at all. Ciel I can understand, seeing as she (according to people far better than me) breaks the game almost as badly as Akuma in his first appearance, but Nero is just a mid-low tier character with a couple of decent moves and a badass laugh. A Nanaya blockstring will work on anyone, whether they understand it or not, but have you ever seen a Nero blockstring that couldn't be escaped if you had any notion of how it worked?

(I used an edit for this, because I don't want to clutter the topic up with posts that don't match it.)

Nero rapes people who don't know how to fight him, which is about 97% of the people on this site.
